I'm so happy I switched to the PC a year ago. Bet on $ony to milk you dry however they can. I'm just here for the exclusives that are being ported to the PC at this point.
Yes! PC port almost confirmed then. I'll buy it a year after its inevitably broken release. TLoU1 on PC is still far from perfect, but it's TLOU. On PC. Must buy.
@KingPev That's somewhat comforting. I don't play strategy games (because I suck at them lol) but I wish these guys well. I really liked Alien: Isolation.
Gotta feel bad for Creative Assembly. Their best single player game (Alien: Isolation) got crushed in reviews, killing off any hope of a sequel, and now their multiplayer game got canned before it even launched. I guess they will soon share the sad fate of Ready at Dawn.
Lol, I played Death Stranding on a Steam Deck and gave up after 30 mins. That screen was too small and I couldn't see or read much of the stuff that was happening in the game. Good luck Apple haha.
For me it's Starfield on Game Pass all the way. BG3 is waiting its turn, while I mix in a bit of Uncharted 1 on PS5. Enjoyt the first weekend of September everyone!
@Fiendish-Beaver
I feel you. I put BG3 on backburner and I'm enjoying the hell out of Starfield on PC. I do feel bad about ditching BG3 like that (as it absolutely rocks) but I'm a sucker for sci-fi games in space. Two fantastic rpgs in such a short span of time. We are spoilt for choice 🙂
@Wheatly Yeah, it is great at emulation. I loved playing Burnout Revenge upscaled to 720p in my bed before bedtime. If what you say is true then I'll just save up some money and get a Steam Deck for Christmas.
@Wheatly
Do we know the specs of this thing? I assumed it would still have some storage options for whatever, an SD card slot at least. I was also hoping for the processing power to be at least somewhat decent. I used to have a Steam Deck and loved playing upscaled PS2 games on it. Kinda regret getting rid of it and thought this could be a cheaper alternative.
@GuttyYZ Yeah. I can see the current Bioware looking at Larian and BG3 thinking: How can Dragon Age possibly top this? Larian may be humble enough to dismiss the praise they are getting, but BG3 is the new benchmark for rpgs now. I say this as someone who isn't big on fantasy settings and huge rpg games (yet loving BG3).
Larian is the new Bioware. The old Bioware guys left long ago. Mass Effect Trilogy will always be one of gaming's highest points, but it's time to pass the torch. I have little faith in ME4 making headlines for the right reasons.
@ShadowofSparta Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add the title to the list of games for late 2024, as starting from 6th September I will be jumping between BG3 and Starfield. Also, since I've only just returned to Playstation, I still haven't even played GOWR, GoT, HFW and Spiderman 2 is on the horizon...
I played the original BG and honestly didn't like it, but only because I hate real time combat in rpg/crpg games. However, I'm loving BG3 on PC right now and it makes me happy that turn-based, isometric view games are making a comeback. Made me long for a proper Fallout successor and, lo and behold, Broken Roads is about to be released this year. Currently playing the demo on Steam and it's promising! Congrats Larian, you already achieved gaming immortality.
Back in the Playstation world lol. My weekend looks as follows: PC- Baldur's Gate 3- game is gorgeous, deep and absolutely overwhelming to a crpg noob like me. Still, I feel it's worth the time investment. PS5- TLoU and GT7. TLoU works and looks so much better on PS5 than on PC that it boggles the mind how they could have screwed up the port this bad (yes, it still stutters on an RTX 3070 with DLSS on lol) PS3- nothing atm. Have a good one and may the cold beer be by your side as it's boiling here where I live (Poland).
Well, Street Fighter 5 was the only fighter that made me play online and I didn't even suck as much as I expected to. I'll be getting SF6, but a little later with more characters included at a reduced price. I am glad it turned out to be a great game.
@Art_Vandelay
I get it, but I remember reading that Sony is actually selling the PS5 at a profit, albeit a small one. Valve would stand to gain a lot of course, but Sony has already dipped their fingers in the PC market. They sell games and gear for the PC these days. VR is still a niche entertainment so I suppose Sony would still stand to gain more than lose from a move like this.
@MattSilverado Whoa, that's some serious racing gear. The best I could muster was a Thrustmaster T150RS with the T8PA shifter. Had to sell it, though, because family and bills...sigh. Appreciate the lowdown on Alyx. I'll still give it a go and unless it's a blurry mess I should be a happy camper 😁
@MattSilverado Haha, I have a 3070 as well. It gets the job done, but I am not expecting the highest fidelity. I'm blown away with Hellblade VR on Steam and I'm waiting for a discount on HL: Alyx to experience the greatest game VR has to offer (or so the reviews say). If I am impressed with it you can bet your bottom dollar I will be upgrading to 5080 or 6080 and a high end headset. VR is no joke, but it's expensive and you need the right hardware for it. Dirt Rally 2 and Assetto Corsa in VR are awesome as well, but I did try GT Sport in VR back in the day and it did impress me.
@MattSilverado
I don't have a PSVR2 as I'm mostly on PC these days, but if Sony dropped the price and made it PC compatible I'd be all over it. As for Quest 2, I bought it used for fear of my nausea flaring up again and just basically checking if I can do VR. So Quest 2 letting me play Hellblade VR for about an hour without vomiting is a success in my book. I might be willing to spend more on my next VR headset. PSVR2 could be it. Here's to hoping Sony listens.
@MattSilverado PSVR1 was way heavier and gave me a nightmarish nausea due to image being blurry. No such issues with the Quest 2. Looking at Quest 3 pricing I think I might upgrade in a year or so.
I love my Quest 2 and I'm really having a better time with it than with PSVR1 back in the day. Pro tip for Sony here: make PSVR2 PC compatible and it will sell like hot cakes. You're welcome.
As soon as I got wind that basically all major PS exclusives will come to PC I sold my PS5 and XSX and just went full on PC, with some coaxing and nudging from @Splooshdmg. I don't regret that decision and I can easily wait 2-3 years for these exclusives while also being able to play Starfield, Forza and Hellblade 2. PS5 is still going to steamroll Xbox this gen and Sony only stands to gain with these ports so it's fine by me.
Grid Legends is the best Grid since the original one. Also, it has fantastic visuals and the car engine sounds put GT7 to shame. The career mode is actually quite good, too.
I'm replaying Days Gone on my PC. Looks and plays great. On my Steam Deck, I'm playing Burnout Revenge and Outlaw Volleyball. PCSX2 makes these games shine and I can't help but long for these days of PS2, when games were only about fun. None of these games would see the light of day today, sadly. Have a good weekend guys!
@ApostateMage I was doing the same all of last week. Finished the game yesterday and saw the 4th ending. Can't wait for Phantom Liberty and I'm sad at the same time that we won't be getting any more CP2077 DLC.
Raising the prices of new games I can understand. But old/already released games? Jimbo is at it again. Luckily, I buy all my Sony games on PC on key reseller sites.
Funny, that's what I was thinking while playing DS. It would make a great film. As for the game, I wanted to like it and tried for circa 25 hours, but gave up. The plot and presentation are great, but the gameplay loop is mindnumbingly tedious.
@PegasusActual93 Yeah, I would never do that. Still have nightmares from playing Insurgency Sandstorm on a HDD equipped PC. By the time I had spawned on the map my SSD using teammates were already on the objective lol. @Burntbreadman True that. SSDs have been a gamechanger. Probably the biggest one this console gen. I will actually try to find a video on YT of someone playing this on a HDD. Should be interesting.
Yeah, I know. I actually bought it for PS4 back in the day. I just don't feel like going back to PS4 or consoles in general. I'll manage with the PS3 copies 🙂 Appreciate the suggestion, though.
@KidBoruto I mean, Part 2 looks and plays great on PS5. I guess they could bump the resolution or sharpen the textures a little bit. Part 1 looks way better than the remaster. I wish Naughty Dog released Uncharted 1-3 on PC. Still got them on PS3 and they are ok, but it's just not the same.
@Michael2008ish 30 mins you say? I've already put in 25 hours into this game and I feel like I'm forcing myself to keep playing. That's never a good sign lol
I've been rebuying my PS library on the PC. So far I got Detroit, Days Gone, Horizon and Kena. As for WAYP it's some Star Citizen and I'll try to push forward in Death Stranding but I gotta say the gameplay loop is wearing me out. The plot is great but the gameplay can get tedious.
@KidBoruto I wonder if this will happen. ND will be accused of 'wasting resources' by many here. Fingers crossed both PS5 and PC crowd get what they want. I did buy Part 1 on PS5 at launch and enjoyed the hell out of it, but sold my PS5 and jumped into PC gaming a month or so later. Will keep supporting those Sony ports just as a way of saying thank you.
Day one for me. The best PS5 exclusive I played when I still had it so naturally I'll buy it on PC. Now we just need the date.
Edit: you do know the Dual Sense can be used on PC right?
@Sanquine
This is the combo I have had since late October. Sold my PS5, XSX and kept the Switch and PS3 for games that never made the jump to PS4. Already bought Days Gone, Detroit and Horizon on PC. Currently waiting for Returnal so I can play it modded with the difficulty toned down🙃
As a PC gamer now I can say I have already double dipped on Days Gone and Detroit. I'm planning on double dipping on God of War, Horizon, Spider-man and Uncharted. All I'm waiting for is sales, discounts, price drops. People forget game prices on PC plummet shortly after launch. Soulsborne games are probably the only exception. Sackboy can already be bought 30-40% off on some sites.

Sounds nice but I've already completed the game 5 times and moved on. Got Starfield and BG3 on my plate so there's no way I'm going back.
