Re: It Only Did Everything, Follow Up to Vita Means Life, Will Chronicle the Glory Days of the PS3

Well, I sold my PS5 and XSX, but kept my PS3. Mostly because it's my favourite Playstation console which I bought at launch for an absurd amount of money. It wasn't available in Poland back then so I bought an imported one from the US for twice the asking price. Guess I was one of the first owners of the system in my country. Lots of great games to play, many of which never made the jump to PS4/5. The rest I can play on PC basically (which is what I do these days).

Now we're talking! So you've got what I've got then (a 3070). I'd buy a 4090 but it costs more or less the same money as my whole setup (including the monitor and lapboard). If you can afford it buy a lapboard like Razer Turret (I've got it) or Corsair K63. It does take a while to get used to but it's worth it IMO. As for multiplayer, it's free on PC but there are cheaters in many games.

Yes, you can just plug your desktop into your tv/monitor and use a gamepad of choice (most people use the Xbox controller, but Dual Sense is fully supported on Steam). I'm using a 32 inch 4K MSI monitor that I mounted on the wall, so it's pretty much like a tv. I sit about 1,5 metre from it so the size is fine.
To answer your questions that your asked Exerion- yes, it's still a PC and you have to launch a game with a keyboard and mouse, but Steam usually launches alongside Windows and you can launch it in the Big Picture Mode that makes it looks pretty much like a console dashboard. And, you can use a gamepad to operate it instead of m+k. To still have a gaming from the couch experience you can get a wireless keyboard on the cheap or look for a lapboard (much better option). If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I asked a ton of those to a friendly soul before I switched so I can relate. One last point, it's a good time to get a gaming PC because GPU prices are hovering closer to the MSRP than in the last year or two.

Great points about PC gaming! I moved to PC a few days ago and I'm still gaming from my couch using a lapboard and an Xbox gamepad. Feels great really and no issues whatsoever.
As for the topic: when will people realise that fewer and fewer gamers buy games at launch these days? There is a crisis and games are not on top of anybody's list. I'm buying Days Gone and Horizon tomorrow for a total of around $20 bucks. I'll buy Uncharted in a few months when it drops in price a bit. Keep those exclusives coming Sony. I'll defo be buying Returnal on PC. Sackboy, not my cup of tea.

On PS5 I'm halfway through TLoU2, which now looks inferior to Part 1 courtesy of the remake. Still an amazing game.
On XSX I'm playing Prey and Grid Legends. Prey is the System Shock in space I didn't know I needed and Grid Legends is the best Grid since the original one. I even like the cheesy story haha.
On Vita: God of War. It's incredible being able to play this game on a handheld. Still remember my 1st playthrough on PS2...
Have a good one folks!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Last of Us: Part I?

It's still the same masterpiece, but made better by the fantastic audio-visual presentation. Reading the comments about the changes being negligible etc makes me laugh. I've played the game for a week straight and I'm only in the University of Eastern Colorado. That's because I'm in awe with how great the game looks and just spend obscene amount of time gawking at the scenery and characters. Hopefully the PC crowd will appreciate this game when it comes to PC. Especially with a lower price tag.

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

gollumb82

I'm honestly surprised MS offered Sony Call of Duty at all. If I was Phil, I'd make damn sure CoD became Xbox exclusive as soon as the existing deals expired. Otherwise this acquisition makes about as much sense as Sony's Bungie acquisition.
For the record, I don't care about CoD and this seems like Ryan's attempt at putting pressure on CMA to halt this deal.

@clvr
I guess you could say the same about Mass Effect (poorly implemented rpg elements, especially in 2 and 3) and yet it is generally considered to be a milestone in gaming (as a trilogy). I will agree that the rpg elements in CP2077 are fairly light and most choices are meaningless but people seem to have zero issue with it in new Assassin's Creed games and call them rpgs...
Yes, it sold many copies but mostly because of the Witcher games. CDPR would sell real crap if they wanted to before CP2077 and people would gobble it up. As for the themes, Mikoshi, living as an AI beyond our actual selves to me seemed way deeper than most games tackle. But to each their own. Oh and by the way I will be playing Prey soon so I'll check out what to you is a masterpiece 😉

Re: No More Cyberpunk 2077 Expansions Planned After Phantom Liberty

gollumb82

@clvr
Actually, I can. Those opinions are mostly coming from those who played the broken last gen versions. That's on CDPR that they let it happen, but it's not representative of the game. I played it on launch day on XSX and had minor issues, while the game looked and played great. As for it being an average game.... I guess it's subjective. To me it seems you need to be into cyberpunk as a genre to enjoy it. I was totally engrossed in the plot and felt it was really close to what Blade Runner tried to portray (coincidentally, a flop in cinemas). I think an average gamer will be turned off by a game that's more on the philosophical side. Most just want mindless entertainment and I respect that. I like to indulge in that as well.

Re: No More Cyberpunk 2077 Expansions Planned After Phantom Liberty

gollumb82

This game deserved better. From the devs, to the 'fans' who slighted CP2077 whenever and wherever they could. Even in this comment section. Played the game to completion 4 times already and it's one of the best I've ever played. Will surely play it again in the future. Oh well, can't wait for comments like: I won't buy Witcher 4 from those liars!! CDPR is dead etc

@LN78
Make it a class action lawsuit. I'm playing TLoU Part 1 too. It's damn amazing.
@GorosBat
Agreed. I hated that Missing Link DLC for the reasons you mentioned. Made me rebuy the standard version so I wouldn't have to deal with it.
On XSX: Sleeping Dogs. Still a great game
On Vita: trying to get back into Uncharted: Golden Abyss after my friend borrowed the console and kept it way longer than he promised.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

gollumb82

Bought it and I'm loving my time with it. Naysayers will only play it when it hits the bargain bin or PS Plus Extra. I expect the narrative about this remake will change then. Believe me when I say it that no YT video or article will give you an accurate description of the enhancements to graphical and audio quality in comparison with the Remastered version.

Re: Digital Foundry Tech Review Shows Just How Far The Last of Us: Part I Has Come

@BritneyfR_ee
Nah. I've read too many of your posts to know better than label you a hater 😉 I guess it comes down to Sony and other publishers banking on people splurging on their favourite franchises without batting an eye. In my case that's Mass Effect, The Last of Us and Uncharted (used to be MGS and Gran Turismo too). Whenever any of the above are announced, I buy them. Simple as that. Price is not a factor, but I realise neutrals will look at me and label me a fool 🤷‍♂️
