Ah... the usual gamer mentality of "I like this game.... but I want it to play like every other game i play". Good on the devs for sticking to their vision of the game, and not just doing what the people want for brownie points. But this is always why a game becoming mainstream, popular, or being a flavor of the months isn't always a good thing.
@Ryu_Niiyama Yeah. It great when dev do pay attention to the lore. But it still has to be plateable for the mainstream audience. Most only know of Ororo Monroe as Storm. Most would probably get upset if T’Challa doesn't get a game only to himself.
@Gamer83 It wouldn't say it slim to none. Toys for Bob and Microsoft are still working together even after splitting. It now just up to Toys for Bob if they want to continue working on the IP instead of something different now.
@Titntin “ Complaints of bloat in a huge jrpg are almost rediculous, it’s a pretty much an accepted part of the jrpg experience and part of the enjoyment of the title. I do think the complaints are earned. While bloat is very much what makes JRPGs… well JRPGs. You have to find a balance. Like a Dragon finds a very good balance in bloat, and you can easily run from story mission to story if you choose to. It bloat very rarely completely stop player progression. Only a few times it happens. It left up to the player most of time if they really want pad out their play session.
I haven’t played Rebirth TBH… Simply cause I don’t play my PS5. I’ll probably wait till the PC version so I can play it on my 5090 and i9 16900k when those parts release. But from what I hear and seen from gameplay streamed over discord from my friend group. The bloat in rebirth completely stop story progression to stand still. Every new mundane task seem to involves a minigame now.
@J-Dubs They look like a company that specializes in providing this information to companies. So, there is probably a lot of behind the scenes and insider info that they have.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner “ However had BG3 flopped, would larian have been able to keep all their staff?”
Was it even possible for the game to flop? BG3 was developed in such a way to always be finically successful for them… There is a reason they relied heavily on 3 years of early access, and a big paycheck from Google.
@Keyblade-Dan We've gotten quite a few mega man related stuff since 11... Mostly collections and 2 mobile games, but he didn't just go back into the basement.
EDIT: There is supposed to be a movie come out... Don't know what happened to since 20th Century Fox was working on it, but then they got bought by disney
@Neither_scene It sold 24 million. But what is the actual trophy/achievement ratio? Most people probably haven’t even made it past the opening area. I have a lot of friends including myself that bought it out hype but haven’t even killed the first major monster.
@Neither_scene I don’t really care about the mtx in DD2. I personally haven’t picked it up yet cause of the poor performance at a $70 price tag.
MH gameplay loop make it very hard for the general public to get invested in. So a lot of the MH playerbase are dedicated heavily to the franchise, and are less likely to make complaints. DD2 is much more approachable, so you’re going to hear a lot more complaints.
@Neither_scene I would agreed to this maybe 10 years ago. But even casual aren’t that blind and tone deaf anymore. Maybe the panned dead casuals are, but they also aren’t the one buying such a unique niche title like Dragon’s Dogma 2. This game is being bought by core and hardcore/enthusiast gamers.
@nomither6 "R6 seige is a tactical FPS with classes" The operators aren't really classes. A hero shooter emphasizes "hero" characters that have distinctive abilities and/or weapons that are specific to them. That is basically what the operators are. This is also why Apex kinda falls under the same thing as hero shooter. The Legends in the game are each different from the other due to their abilities, playstyle, personality, and backstory.
@IndoorEnthusiast It cause while console sales are down. Everything else is going fantastic for the Xbox gaming division. With the purchase of ActivisionBlizzard gaming is now officially a tent pole division for Microsoft along side Windows and the cloud.
@Sil_Am PC gamers don’t care about that nonsense tho. The only people that would benefit from that are going to be PS gamer who also just happen to have a PC good enough to run these titles. Unfortunately, there is too much band loyalty to Steam/valve on PC from strictly PC gamers.
I still have to pick up Rebirth. But I'm too busy with being sucked into VR again to play anything else at the moment... I'll probably end up playing it once it decided to drop on PC (Steam, not Epic).
@MrMagic Insomniac is a big enough studio that they can easily support consoles and VR. I mean they were doing that literally before Sony purchased them. Look at the studio history and see they were popping multiple games a year, as well releasing top games like the original Spider Man PS4. Sony buys them then they suddenly drop to 1 game every other year… It doesn’t take much to task a small team of developers to make a VR game. Most big VR games are coming from studios with less than 100 people.
@MrMagic Retention will fix it self if they released a steady release of games, but they don’t cause they’re too focused on putting out further HMDs, and they only started buying studios like 2 years ago. They don’t have 20 game studios, including literally one of best VR devs in world, being wasted on marvel licenses.
@MrMagic They’re plans has literally nothing to do with the PC market at all. Like what!?!? Hahaha. PC players account for probably less than 5 million of the 25 million Quest users. Their plan is for VR to be the next PC or smartphone, replacing those devices. Their barely minimum PC support is just a byproduct of their legacy devices/software.
@MrMagic Meta loss is cause they continue to just dump endless money into R&D and other pointless ventures. I mean… We’ve seen how many endless prototypes they make of their VR HMDs. If they just released a product and supported. They wouldn’t be losing so much money… But here we are 6 months after the Quest 3 launch and already talking about the Quest lite and Quest Pro 2.
@windxtravelerx "you don't know me so i advise you to stop right here about any accusations about me lying or anything like that because i will report you for harassment if you keep doing this. Behave yourself. What i have or what i don't have in my house is my problem. You're crossing the line."
You do you. But you are literally making accusations that console also don't suffer from these issues.

If you want to keep it personal experience than phase it as such... Just don't leave it as a blank statement.

I never said that you shouldn't read forums, but you shouldn't be using them as factual tools.
"Nixxes are reading these threads on Steam every day but the problem is still there."
Which is why people like to problem dump issue on forums. But steam forums aren't the proper channels to provide information to the developer. So, you're really just yelling into an echo chamber. Hoping that the developer will read your post and fix the issue. Even if you didn't open a support ticket about the issue using the proper channels.
"Then PC is no better than consoles because SM aren't the only games with issues on PC, i already said that in other posts here."
I never said that PC was better than console. I kept the post Spider-Man because I didn't want to mention bunch of other games.
"People are allowed to have their own opinion based on their own experiences, and that's what i did here."
You didn't really phrase it just as your personal experience tho.
@windxtravelerx Using forums to gauge something is inherently always going to give a worse picture. No one goes to forums unless they have something complain about.
“Both Spiderman games have issues with crashing. You can literally go now on their forums on Steam and read dozens of threads about this issue”
So we’re going to ignore the multiple technical issues that also plague the PS5 versions of Spider-man remastered, miles morales, and Spider man 2? This site even did a poll about the technical issues and bugginess that Spider man 2 have.
Even going back to the launch of the PS5. Users had reported being unable to play any RT mode of any game without their consoles crashing.
I could further cherry pick examples as well…
Do we want to talk about the graphical issues that Rebirth is having on PS5?
Just be truthful. Say you can’t afford a PC, and picking a console is the cheaper path. Stop lying and spreading misinformation that console don’t also suffer from a lot of the same technical issues and problems as PC.
This is wholly not exclusive to PC... Especially with this generation of consoles. TBH I have probably experienced more issue with gaming on my PS5 than I have with my PC
@Toot1st I never said that Xbox is dying, I said that the Xbox as we know it is dying. Meaning that the Xbox a lot of us grew up with is no more. This current strategy is not coming from the Xbox that I grew up playing hours of Halo and Gears on. It a vastly different beast, and I'm okay with that... But that means to me, the brand is dead. I've moved on, and that why I haven't even picked up their console this generation.
With the way things are going... In a couple of more years, we won't have to worry about exclusivity. Xbox as we know it is dying, and probably only have half a generation left, and Playstation is already releasing their game on PC.
@MrMagic It on Samsung TV and Quest, but they haven’t really done anything to improve the service at all for larger screens, and a lot people says it horrible. A lot of their effort has always been pushing the service for smaller devices and lite devices… It great on my Surface Go. Can’t say the same for PS Streaming since they don’t offer any web streaming, and you technically can’t download non Microsoft stores on a surface Go.
It much easier to allow a 4k HDR stream when you only have to stream to two type of devices… PC and PS5, and one of the devices they designed and made the hardware for, so know the hardware limitations. This is why Stadia and GeForce Now had originally locked their 4k stream to their own hardware. Not every device had the required hardware to decode the correct codecs of the stream.
@Futureshark Also, using the Series S version instead of the Series X allows them to run multiple instances on one Series X blade which helps limit queue that plague services like GeForce Now.
I think every Series X blade can run
2 instances of Series S. When they was stream One S games, it was 4 instances.
@Futureshark Cause xCloud is meant for phone and 720P window tablets and laptops. It not meant to used on 4k screened devices. It also something that is designed to used on cellular services.
It does no one good being able to stream the Series X version on a 6 inch screen.
I’ve stopped playing it for now. The server issues for first 2 weeks, and the fact that everyone I remotely hang around is talking about it has killed my interest in it for now… I was one of few who actually played the first one, and had legitimate hype for the sequel when it originally announced. It was extremely upsetting and disappointing when I couldn’t even remotely play the game during the time I took off to play it.
I’ll probably jump back in once it not the flavor of the month anymore, and all the people who are just playing it for views move on.
Going independent is great news. First this means that they aren't forced to make Call of Duty. Second, this partnership with Microsoft is most likely due to them still having new titles in the pipeline that Microsoft/Activation approved, so they can't exactly run off and make new games for other platforms just yet. This partnership also gives them the financial stability during the transition to independence... This also give them a bit more freedom and voice in saying what games can launch on which platform.
Third, this is great news for Microsoft cause now they aren't responsible for the health of the studio. If their next game sucks and doesn't sell causing more lay off and possible full studio closure. That wasn't Microsoft fault, that on studio leadership. Microsoft can simply wash their hands of the studio and move on... Cause lets be honest, Toy for bobs games don't exactly sell big number beside the Skylander stuff. Microsoft was probably number crunching and was wondering if it was worth keeping the studio around.
"away from development of future licensed IP that we do not believe will be successful in our changing industry"
Not surprising. The only company that had any success with licensed IPs so far is Sony. Every other licensed IP release has been terrible to eh, and that don’t count the massive cost to hold ownership of the license… I wonder what Disney is going to do with a lot of companies turning away from licensing their IPs? Start another publishing arm and bring them back in house?
@ROTTIEMAN16 Yes. Cause I’m a VR enthusiast, own 6 other VR HMD, and wanted to add PSVR 2 to my collection. The Official RE4 Remake VR isn’t on PC, but I have access to Praydog's REFramework VR mod. I also already play the OG RE4 in VR when it launched for the Quest 2. I don’t need GT7 when I have Assetto Corsa and iRacing… Only PlayStation only gamers are excited about that. Synapse is cool looking but not my cup of tea. Don’t care for roguelites.
I love my PSVR2, but the only thing I’ve played on it is Call of the mountain and Help Wanted 2. PC support would give me more reason to use it. I enjoy the quality of Sony products vastly more than any other VR HMD manufacturers
Doesn’t PlayStation have a certification process that should be checking for stuff like this…? So clearly they are perfectly fine with the way Microsoft named it.

Microsoft was probably number crunching and was wondering if it was worth keeping the studio around.
Re: EA Cuts Roughly 700 Jobs in Another Round of Industry Layoffs
"away from development of future licensed IP that we do not believe will be successful in our changing industry"
Not surprising. The only company that had any success with licensed IPs so far is Sony. Every other licensed IP release has been terrible to eh, and that don’t count the massive cost to hold ownership of the license… I wonder what Disney is going to do with a lot of companies turning away from licensing their IPs? Start another publishing arm and bring them back in house?
Re: Video: One Year Later, Is PSVR2 Doing Enough?
@ROTTIEMAN16 Yes. Cause I’m a VR enthusiast, own 6 other VR HMD, and wanted to add PSVR 2 to my collection. The Official RE4 Remake VR isn’t on PC, but I have access to Praydog's REFramework VR mod. I also already play the OG RE4 in VR when it launched for the Quest 2. I don’t need GT7 when I have Assetto Corsa and iRacing… Only PlayStation only gamers are excited about that. Synapse is cool looking but not my cup of tea. Don’t care for roguelites.
Re: Video: One Year Later, Is PSVR2 Doing Enough?
@ROTTIEMAN16 Simple answer: I have a PC.
Re: Video: One Year Later, Is PSVR2 Doing Enough?
I love my PSVR2, but the only thing I’ve played on it is Call of the mountain and Help Wanted 2. PC support would give me more reason to use it. I enjoy the quality of Sony products vastly more than any other VR HMD manufacturers
Re: Xbox May Need to Familiarise Itself with PS5, PS4's Platinum Trophies
Doesn’t PlayStation have a certification process that should be checking for stuff like this…? So clearly they are perfectly fine with the way Microsoft named it.
