Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for August 2024?

B0udoir

@jgrangervikings1 about a year ago, for a PS+ subscription that was costing around 20% less, you had access to the PS+ Collection. Basically masterpieces like GoW2018, FFXV, fallout 4, Days Gone, Resident Evil 7, Last Of Us, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 4, what am I forgetting? Now you no longer have access to these games and get each month a pack of shovelware or pay2win EA/2k sport crap. So yeah, people are not happy and that's understandable.

Re: EA Sports WRC Reveals Season Expansion, DLC, More in 2024 Roadmap

B0udoir

@Northern_munkey Dirt Rally 2 has more warm graphics, with attention to small details like water or dirt effects, your copilot, etc... WRC Rally is more about large landscapes with cool sunset over the beach, the villages on top of mountains, etc .. But yeah, as you mentioned, the driving sensation are much better in WRC Rally. Dirt Rally 2 is probably too realistic to be fun, at least for me.

Re: Suicide Squad Season 2 Frozen Days From Launch, Defrosting 25th July

B0udoir

@somnambulance Yeah I took a look on steam DB, in June roughly 100 players were playing the game on average. Right now an average of 350 players, probably the summer effect plus the game at $20 ?
To give some order of magnitude:
Even WRC Rally, which is a great but very niche game for the few people who like that kind of stuff, has an average of 650 players...

Nier Automata, a great old game, about 1250 on average.

I'm not mentioning Elden Ring, this is so embarrassing.

Re: Elden Ring's Difficulty Destroyed By New Shield Weapons, as Players Call Them 'Absolutely Busted'

B0udoir

I think I'm at the middle of the DLC, lvl 270 and Blessing lvl 10, and I agree that there is a balance problem at this point. All the enemies are super easy and the progression is a cake-walk, but the bosses are super hard and requires a specific technique to be cheesed. All the dragon fights have been disappointing as well, it's way too easy. in the base game there are still some dragons I haven't managed to beat... I think the last patch was clearly a mistake. It changed nothing for bosses but made the game too simple without challenge

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

B0udoir

Honestly, I was finding the DLC quite easy, but with the new update it has become ridiculous. Just beat Dancing Lion first try, zero effort, zero challenge. The whole castle before was a cake walk. That's all? I really don't understand all the people complaining. From what I have read, I am worrying that the final boss is mega hard while the whole DLC is super easy. So far I really love the level design and art direction, but in terms of difficulty and challenge, it's not like when you start the base game.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

B0udoir

@NieR_Dark These knights are weak to death magic. I'm literally cheesing them with Prince of Death staff and the Rangcor something spell, the one that throw skulls in the air.

So far I find the DLC not especially hard, so I am afraid that they broke it with this update to please the mass.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

B0udoir

They can tune the game indefinitely, it doesn't change the fact that most people suck. I'm trying very hard to help other players in multiplayer to beat bosses, but Host of Fingers are always panic rolling anywhere to get one shoted. This is really annoying. Please learn how to face a boss, stop spamming spells that are useless, stop the nonsensical rolling, stop trying to attack when it's not your open window. If you are so bad at understanding how this game work, at least stay hidden and let other people beat the boss for you. And stop complaining it is too hard. At some point it remembers me people yelling that SMTV is a bad game and too hard because after lining up 4 demons weak to fire against a boss with a strong fire attack, they don't pass the first turn of the battle...

Re: FromSoftware Boss Puts Elden Ring Difficulty Discourse to Bed, Once and For All

B0udoir

All the people complaining about the difficulty are the same who are panic rolling everywhere to get one shoted. It's all about learning the game mechanics and building muscle memory. It's no more complex than Street Fighter. I have beaten Rellana last night after 10 attempts to find her weakness. My son has just beaten Dancing Lion in 5 attempts. Seeing people on social media yelling that the game is impossible is probably part of the entertainment.

Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Is the Highest-Rated DLC of All Time

B0udoir

Just watched the Before you buy video about this DLC. The reviewer is basically saying the contrary: the DLC proposes a new way of exploring the world, it's much dense, with more verticallity, multiple paths that cross and separate, caves and mini dungeons have their own originality rather the same copy paste, etc.. conclusion is that it is a refreshing and refined way of playing Elden Ring.

Re: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PS5) - Familiar FromSoftware Brilliance

B0udoir

Sometimes Push Square reminds me the IGN tactics when Metroid Dread was released: give a relatively low score to a universally acclaimed game that collects 10/10 everywhere, so that you stand apart from the mass and everybody will talk about you. A 8/10 to Shadow of the Red tree, like a 7/10 to SMTV... there is something phony here.

Re: Big Elden Ring Update Adds New Features and Adjusts Balance Ahead of DLC's Release

B0udoir

@djlard Not sure to understand what you mean. Demons Souls is extremely unfair, you can totally destroy your playthrough just by making a small mistake, forcing you to start over. There is no such thing in Elden Ring. Same for failing a boss that requires you to redo a whole level from scratch. Elden Ring is extremely friendly, especially with the multiplayer where you can invite people to do the job for you.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PS5) - Combat-Heavy RPG Gets a Major Overhaul

B0udoir

"excessive grinding".... Ok, so the reviewer just didn't understand how to play a SMT game and gave a 7/10 to this masterpiece. For the people: there is absolutely no grinding needed in that game, you just must fusion your demons to stay on top of the raising difficulty. Once you have understood that, the game is pretty easy, though the final fights against the bosses can be tough. SMTV was already a 9/10 on Switch, it's a 10/10 with this updated version.

Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures Is Official, Out on PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch

B0udoir

That just doesn't make any sense. Horizon is the less appealing IP, with its boring, generic universe and repulsive characters. Nobody identify to Horizon, nobody care about this IP. It's just pointless. I'm pretty sure that even a Lego GoW or Elden Ring would have make people hysterical. But why fighting so hard with Horizon, just let it go.

Re: Square Enix Drops OG Octopath Traveler, Available Now on PS5, PS4

B0udoir

Interesting, for some reason I decided to start Octopath Traveler II just 2 days ago, I bought the physical edition last year during Black Friday when it was super cheap. So far so good, the game is beautiful and captivating. I like that it is still possible to revisit this old school genre and still be creative in terms of graphics and gameplay. No idea about the 1, I read it was not as good as the 2.
