I think R* need to sack the guy in charge of their internet security! Leak after leak after leak. On topic, the game does look pretty incredible and I can imagine the game will be a gigantic success! I wasn’t a huge fan of GTA5, but I can see myself giving this a go for sure.
I am playing the Closed Beta for Suicide Squad with friends and although I am worried what the Live Service elements will entail, the game is actually a lot better than I expected, but I wouldn’t like to play it on my own.
Also playing Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Just Veteran no checkpoint and Realistic to secure the 100% completion on the game left to do. That has been a lot of fun!
I’m sorry, but I still think it’s going to happen. And of course Xbox CEO Phil came out and said “they have no plans” to do this, as most people will buy their PlayStations and wait until the opportunity arrives that they can play first party Microsoft games on other consoles. It would be suicide on his behalf to not allude to the possibility of Xbox consoles moving forward, but slowly and surly, that ship has left port.
I’ve yet to get play Resident Evil 4 remake as I was waiting until all the DLCs were released, but I am hoping that Resi 5 is the next on the list. Don’t get me wrong, I think Code Veronica would be the right choice as it’s the older of the 2, but the continuity of the series getting the remake treatment would be the right thing for Capcom to do, as it will appeal to new fans seeing the next numbered instalments being released! I played Resident Evil 5 in coop with my daughter on PS3 and PS4, so it hold fond memories in that sense. I also played Coop on Xbox 360 with a dear friend who sadly passed away a few years ago. The fun I had in coop with him was awesome! I would expect Capcom would rework the game a bit, add more horror into it.
I think the Live Centre of Excellence should be closed after Jim Ryan leaves, because this was him and Herman’s brainwave and let Sony Japan run the rule over projects moving forward. There is no way that a company like Bungie that is failing so massively should have any input into what other, very successful Sony first party studios are making. I bet that Faction's 2 was probably looking brilliant, but Bungie didn’t want anyone taking away from their cash cow. Neil Druckmann is a divisive so and so, but the games he has been involved in have had fantastic gameplay. Sony should allow Factions 2 to be released as a Beta. Let us the fans see what it’s all about. If it’s crap, then we can all thank our stars that Bungie did get involved and stopped it, but if it’s awesome, close the Centre of excellence and get Bungie to fall in line before all of the 3.5 Billion odd completely goes to waste. Bungie have run out of ideas big time.
I’ve paid £70 for more than a few games that didn’t feel Like they were worth the price at all, but I definitely know that the cash I lay down for a Capcom game will be worth every penny for me personally! I definitely don’t mind paying for quality and Capcom have been giving that in huge amounts over the last few years.
Be still my beating heart!!! It looks better and better each time this is shown, 22nd March can’t come soon enough now!! I’ll be checking the import sites over the next few days incase there is a Collectors Edition released in Japan! Now that this is also almost done and dusted, I wonder if Hideaki Itsuno turns his attention to a possible Devil May Cry 6!? 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Sad to see that Physical Games are more and more heading towards oblivion, but I guess I can be happy that my gigantic Physical collection of 2000 odd titles with around 300 sealed games is going to be worth a lot more in a few years!! 😄
I wonder if this Rogue mode had anything to do with Factions 2 before Bungie got involved. I would have liked to have seen some sort of Coop implementation in this mode, it would have been awesome to have played this with friends.
Hopefully the success may encourage Nacon and the studio to do a few updates! One that I would personally love to see would be a filter added so that the screen looks like Robocops screen view from the movies, not just when you scan items or the environment! Would also love to see a couple of set piece DLCs added for fun, like the drug den with Clarence Boddicker getting launched through windows at the end of the fight in the steel works from the end of the movie! I would absolutely buy that for a Dollar (or $15, that would be DLC I would gladly pay for!!)
I can really see Xbox being just “Microsoft GamePass” in another generation or so. I saw that Xbox’s’ next console will be a Cloud based system primarily, so it will likely sell no better than Series X is doing. Give it another generation though and it will be even harder for Microsoft to break Sonys dominance as more and more people invest in Sonys Ecosystem. If Gamepass were to be available on PlayStation, I would likely do what I do now, pay for a month to play the newest game from them, then play Forza Horizon until the sub runs out. I also know that people say competition is good, but right now Microsoft really isn’t competition for Sony and with a 10 year deal in place for COD and Fortnite, FIFA and Grand Theft Auto all readily available on PlayStation, nothing is going to change for the foreseeable future.
It would be really cool if Sony concentrated on launching games on PS Premium from the old Platinum Ranch from PS1s golden era. Games like Gran Turismo, Tekken 3, the Wipeout games, Colin McRae, Dino Crisis 2 and Silent Hill would all be amazing games for the service and I would gladly replay all of them. It would also be brilliant if Sony made it mandatory to add Trophies to the games as well. Being a Trophy Hunter myself, that would really get me into playing way more retro games on their service!
I really feel for these guys now. Watching them almost try to convince themselves that they are releasing a good game, whilst talking from a teleprompter is painful to watch. I genuinely think that this game isn’t going to be bought by the masses at all, no matter what they do or how many free incentives they announce. They probably would have a hard time giving it away for free right now, gone is the power that Rocksteady once had on all things DC. The more people know about this game and what they plan to achieve with it, the less that it’s going to sell or be picked up. My particular friends group were all in on a Suicide Squad Coop game. Then they saw the State of Play that featured it and now none of them are interested in it. The trailer from the other day hasn’t changed their minds in the slightest. I am definitely the biggest DC fan from our group too, but I am going to pass also. Live Service games outside the dominant players that rule right now just crash and burn.
I’m Afraid that the damage was done at the first reveal. I really tried to give it a chance this time too, but it just looks exactly the same. I saw the mention of a Battle Pass in the special edition of the game, so I am sad to say that I won’t be hearing Kevin Conroys final rendition of Batman. He deserved way more than this for his final act.
I would not be in the least bit surprised if this ends up being the last generation that there will be an Xbox to market. Getting trounced with these kinds of numbers by PlayStation will surely show Microsoft that, now with the huge amount of IPs that they own, their business future lies entirely on GamePass. Indeed, it won’t be like the GamePass that is out now, but would focus entirely on their own IPs rather than 3rd parties. I honestly can see GamePass being available on PlayStation by the beginning of the next generation. I myself would likely use it. Although I am not the biggest fan of some of the recent Xbox releases, I would definitely like to play future releases like Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 5 and Gears of War and it would save me the hassles of having to use a second console. A big negative would be the lack of completion would make for some interesting gaming for sure, but 3 years in and Xbox sales are declining will surely make some changes over at Microsoft.
This is going to be an absolute Sh**show!! After the huge backlash from Suicide Squad, I thought that Warner Brothers would reevaluate their stance, but nope. I really fear for RockSteady going forward, because they will foot the blame when things go wrong..
So basically Embracer came in and took over a host of gaming studios that were part of many a gamers most fondest memories and now they are just going to (probably) close them down. I think it’s shocking. This really is a warning to developers. It may look like the grass is greener when someone comes in offering substantial cash for their time and effort getting to where they are, only to be dropped like a bad habit as soon as things turn awry.. Hopefully these guys can be saved.
I really didn’t like Grand Theft Auto 5, so I will probably pass the 6th game by. However, if it’s more like GTA 4 that would be a different story because I thought that was an awesome game and probably my personal favourite title in the series to date!
And here was Microsoft saying that they had the greatest first party AAA lineup because of MW3 for the holidays that they have ever had. (They actually said that). Also, what in the heck has happened to the PS5s Platinum trophy??
After what’s been happening with Bungie of late, I definitely think that the multiplayer Factions 2 is probably a lot better than we are led to believe. You know what Sony and Naughty Dog should do? How about they release what they have so far as a beta so that we, the gamers can make our own minds up. If it’s not worth our time (and eventual money) then we can voice the opinion, rather than have Bungie who have a vested interest in their own title conquering all telling Sony that it’s not worth it. Neil Druckmann is a bit of a controversial so and so, but as far as gameplay goes, I thought the Last of us 2 was pretty good. It was just the story decisions that didn’t work for me personally., so I genuinely think that Factions 2 would have played pretty good.
You can tell from the beginning of Destiny 2 to where it is now that it’s a complete mess. It probably should be now that the Final Shape should be the final chapter in the story and time to move on to pastures new.
I’m sure that Bungie have been screwing over the other studios at PlayStation that we’re making Live Service games. When they were given the powers to stop other developers, who’s to say that they saw the other teams as direct competitors with superior ideas when they probably knew their product was failing..
Well, the majority of Sonys fans don’t want GaaS, so let this be a lesson to Sony to stick to what they know and keep with the single player ethos that has served them so well. I thought at the time that the Naughty Dog Factions 2 was probably far better than what Bungie was doing, but they were given too much power to close games down that they didn’t think met the levels expected. Look at them now…
I went back to Destiny 2 near the end of Season of the Seraph after a very long hiatus and with its awesome storyline I bought into the idea that Bungie had sorted themselves out from when I played Destiny 2 before and bought the Lightfall Expansion. Well, that has been a huge disappointment. Even though Destiny 2 has had problems, the game always had a very high quality of graphics throughout the Planets which really made the whole package feel very accomplished. The Moon, The Dreaming City and Savathuns Homeworld being especially amazing in my opinion. But parts of Lightfall really did feel like Bungie just didn’t have the care anymore with some of the levels looking pretty awful, the underwater parts being particularly crap to say the least. I just feel myself that the quality of the game has tanked massively since Sony bought them out, as if they didn’t think they needed to try anymore. I didn’t like Neptune at all and I found that there was absolutely nothing that made me want to keep going back to the game. I am not in the least bit surprised that there has been a huge drop in player retention and revenues. One saving grace to Lightfall was the fantastic soundtrack. Shame that Bungie saw fit to let Michael Salvatori go, that is madness.. Maybe Sony should get involved a little here, because even though Bungie champion themselves as independent, they will definitely answer to Sony, even though it’s probably very well hidden behind the scenes. I wonder if Sony like seeing the more influential people at Bungie get made redundant.. That $3.6 Billion is starting to look even more of a waste. At this rate, they will just own a name..
What’s most interesting to me now is the ‘’’Centre of Excellence’ that was supposed to be run by Bungie when it came to Live Service titles. Surely the fact that Bungie can’t get their own house in order wont give them much weight or leverage behind their own opinions on other studios working on GaaS. With the rumours building that Sony are pulling back on pay to play titles because of the internal backlash from massively talented single player developers, Bungie just doesn’t feel like a very good fit to Sonys Worldwide Studios anymore at all. Even though Bungie have a degree of independence, being purchased for Billions will give Sony SOME say in proceedings surely.. After fans uproar to Suicide Squad, a game that Sony seemed to want everyone to think was a game from them after the huge state of play reveal and everyone in their right minds hating FairGame$, plus Spider-Man 2 doing awesome numbers, it has to be in Sonys best interests to see what fans really want and going down the GaaS route is a very bad idea. The people that were most up for making as many live service games are slowly being pushed out of SIE, I wonder how long Herman has left. Instead of paying for Bungie, Firesprite and Haven Studios, 2 of which hadn’t even released a game, money would have been way better spent on CD Projekt Red and Remedy and in my own opinion, those developers would have been a perfect fit with the existing studios in Sonys Portfolio and kept the single player, story driven ethos that makes PlayStation the place I want to play my games!
Ubisoft will be Xbox’s next acquisition. They will argue that it would only be fair to own a French company to break through the ‘Market Leaders Domination’. Pfft
I would really hope to see Dead Space 3 remade to the level of which the producer would have like to have seen, because although I still liked the game, it was too far away from the horror levels generated by 1 & 2! I thought there could have been a feel of John Carpenters ‘The Thing’ about the game, with the ice planet and dormant alien DNA, so I would like to see some ideas implemented in like that. That would be able to generate a good level of Horror for sure! I would also love to see a remake of 3 being a huge success and then a 4th game being commissioned to conclude the story.
This would be a great time for Konami to have a collectors edition with a statue of Snake, however I would like to see a physical disc being included in a pack like that though, don’t like the way the industry is moving away from discs in Collectors Sets being removed and replaced by a code. On topic, the game looks outstanding in Unreal Engine 5 and I definitely feel excited to replay this game again as it is probably my favourite entry in the franchise!
The good thing about Sonys business model is this game is being bought by their fans with the full intention of playing, rather than downloading and trying for a few hours because it’s on a subscription service. These numbers are pretty incredible and it’s genuinely worthy of them, so far I have personally enjoyed Spiderman 2 immensely, and I am mostly just sight seeing and taking screenshots!
I would love to see Sony buy CD Project Red, because they would help offset the fact that PlayStation have lost so many RPGs with Bethesdas Xbox exclusivities, but with Herman still loitering, it would not surprise me in the slightest if the next acquisition was another GaaS company.
It’s a real shame that Sony didn’t include a condition for all retro titles that launched on the Premium service to have a requirement for Trophies to be included. I would have loved to have gone for Platinums for both of Namcos releases this month.
I would be utterly amazed if this does come to fruition that it would arrive on PlayStation and once the Activision Blizzard acquisition is completed by Microsoft, it will end all releases of all AB games to the PS4/5 except Call of Duty..
I am very much looking forward to getting my hands on the game, but I have a lot of awesome games to play until release, so I am not chomping at the bit. That’s not to say I’m not hyped, but this has simply just been a really good year for games! 😅
I don’t know what I would do if Sony went all out for Live Service, as the single player experiences that they offer is one of the main reasons why I choose to game on PlayStation above all else. I think they should let Bungie focus on the Live Service aspects of the business and get all other First Party teams to do what they do best. Honestly, it would actually be for the best for Sony to taste nothing but failure when it comes to live service. Seeing the utterly terrible press that accompanied the reveal of Suicide Squad should be a good learning point, because Rocksteady had a pretty great reputation leading up to this point and one mistake has really hit them hard and the game ain’t even out yet. Other games like Babylons Fall and the Avengers game have been a pure disaster too. Games like Fortnite, Destiny and COD have really got the live service shored up at this Point. The money that will be lost trying to crack the market now could definitely be put to far better use by Sony in creating the AAA story driven extravaganzas that have put them in such a great place in the industry!
Whatever negative that can be said about Jim Ryan, he presided over an absolute giant growth of the PlayStation Brand after a pandemic and then the fallout caused by that with global shortages of components to make PS5 consoles, so on that side he did an awesome job. And contrary to public opinion, I definitely prefer him to Phil Spencer’s lies.
I personally wouldn’t want to see any developer throw their full weight into Live Service titles moving forward. I far prefer single player, story driven titles, and Sony really are good at these in my opinion! I would hate to live in a world where live service took over, so I am more than happy to see these GAAS titles are cancelled before release!
@Loamy Case by Case was just Phil’s way of spinning it that they would look at each game that was coming out and say No to a PlayStation version. I am pretty convinced that there will not be a game made by Bethesda going forward that will be released on PlayStation. And Phil wants as many games played by as many people…
I have been a fan of Capcom since I first played UN Squadron on the Super Nintendo, so to hear that they wouldn’t allow themselves to me acquired by Microsoft is the best news for sure! I think everyone deserves to play as many games from as many developers as possible and I would genuinely have hated above all other developers if there was ever a time where Capcom weren’t making games for all formats!
With all the patter coming from Phil Spencer, I would have thought StarField would still be in the physical chart for the next couple of years. I tried it for a couple of hours myself and couldn’t really get into it Personally at all. On topic it’s great to see Lies of P in the top 3, it’s an awesome game so far!
Sony should probably start announcing a few things that they have been working on lately as far as their AAA teams are concerned. All this news about AB is definitely going to work in Microsoft’s favour, good or bad. Would also like to see a few acquisitions as far as Sony are concerned too. Not because to compete on the acquisition front, but more to keep games that are already available on PlayStation there for the long term. Microsoft ain’t done with acquisitions in their own right and I really wish Sony would look at WB games or CD Project Red, the later especially since going forward, RPGs are going to be thin on the ground for Sony, especially with Bethesda games and Diablo not available very long going forward either. Gaming is looking very poor for the future..
I got the game a week early thanks to the Premium Edition and although it’s a typically awesome entry from NetherRealms, I definitely would say that 10 and 11 are better games. MK1 is also missing some characters that I would have thought were Shoe ins, but it’s still an awesome game like I said. Having Smoke in the lineup really helped aswell!! 😄

Re: Tekken 8 Reveals Multiple Characters Joining Its Roster in Latest Trailer
As long as Yoshimitsu was included, I was going to be happy!! 😄
Re: Bungie CEO Laments 'Sad Day' for Sony Studio Following Layoffs
Re: It Sounds Like PS5 Is Handily Outselling Its New-Gen Rival in France
Ubisoft will be Xbox’s next acquisition. They will argue that it would only be fair to own a French company to break through the ‘Market Leaders Domination’. Pfft
Re: Given a Chance, Dead Space 3 Producer 'Would Redo It Almost Completely'
I would really hope to see Dead Space 3 remade to the level of which the producer would have like to have seen, because although I still liked the game, it was too far away from the horror levels generated by 1 & 2! I thought there could have been a feel of John Carpenters ‘The Thing’ about the game, with the ice planet and dormant alien DNA, so I would like to see some ideas implemented in like that. That would be able to generate a good level of Horror for sure! I would also love to see a remake of 3 being a huge success and then a 4th game being commissioned to conclude the story.
Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Is Going to Look Unreal on PS5
This would be a great time for Konami to have a collectors edition with a statue of Snake, however I would like to see a physical disc being included in a pack like that though, don’t like the way the industry is moving away from discs in Collectors Sets being removed and replaced by a code. On topic, the game looks outstanding in Unreal Engine 5 and I definitely feel excited to replay this game again as it is probably my favourite entry in the franchise!
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Is Immediately the Fastest-Selling PlayStation Studios Game Ever
Re: Rumour: The Next Far Cry Game Is an Extraction-Based Multiplayer Shooter with Permadeath
No thanks, this will be an easy pass.
Re: PlayStation Allegedly Under Pressure to Make Major Gaming Acquisitions
I would love to see Sony buy CD Project Red, because they would help offset the fact that PlayStation have lost so many RPGs with Bethesdas Xbox exclusivities, but with Herman still loitering, it would not surprise me in the slightest if the next acquisition was another GaaS company.
Re: More Platinum Trophies for PS Plus Premium Retro Releases
It’s a real shame that Sony didn’t include a condition for all retro titles that launched on the Premium service to have a requirement for Trophies to be included. I would have loved to have gone for Platinums for both of Namcos releases this month.
Re: Activision Boss Hints a Guitar Hero Revival Could Be on the Cards
I would be utterly amazed if this does come to fruition that it would arrive on PlayStation and once the Activision Blizzard acquisition is completed by Microsoft, it will end all releases of all AB games to the PS4/5 except Call of Duty..
Re: Poll: How's Your Hype for Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
I am very much looking forward to getting my hands on the game, but I have a lot of awesome games to play until release, so I am not chomping at the bit. That’s not to say I’m not hyped, but this has simply just been a really good year for games! 😅
Re: PlayStation's Push for Live Service Games Hasn't Been Going Smoothly
I don’t know what I would do if Sony went all out for Live Service, as the single player experiences that they offer is one of the main reasons why I choose to game on
PlayStation above all else.
Re: Xbox Boss Praises 'Fierce Leader' Jim Ryan Following News of PlayStation CEO's Retirement
Re: Another High Profile Live Service Flop As SEGA Pulls the Plug on HYENAS Before Launch
Re: Microsoft Documents Show How PlayStation Now Saved Fallout 76
@QuietintheCorner Yep, clarity at its best!
Re: Microsoft Documents Show How PlayStation Now Saved Fallout 76
@Loamy Case by Case was just Phil’s way of spinning it that they would look at each game that was coming out and say No to a PlayStation version. I am pretty convinced that there will not be a game made by Bethesda going forward that will be released on PlayStation. And Phil wants as many games played by as many people…
Re: Don't Worry About Microsoft Buying Capcom Anytime Soon
I have been a fan of Capcom since I first played UN Squadron on the Super Nintendo, so to hear that they wouldn’t allow themselves to me acquired by Microsoft is the best news for sure! I think everyone deserves to play as many games from as many developers as possible and I would genuinely have hated above all other developers if there was ever a time where Capcom weren’t making games for all formats!
Re: UK Sales Charts: Surprise Hit Lies of P Makes an Impressive Third Place Debut
Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Mortal Kombat 1?
I got the game a week early thanks to the Premium Edition and although it’s a typically awesome entry from NetherRealms, I definitely would say that 10 and 11 are better games. MK1 is also missing some characters that I would have thought were Shoe ins, but it’s still an awesome game like I said. Having Smoke in the lineup really helped aswell!! 😄
