I was reading through articles, trying to see how much Firewalk cost Sony and I came across this from Herman Hulst “we continue to be impressed by the team’s ambitions to build a modern multiplayer game that connects players in new and innovative ways.” In a press release, he added, “I think fans will be very pleased when they see what Firewalk has in store for them.”
Herman is so out of touch. He was in charge of Killzone and Horizon, so he isn’t a fool, but since moving up the corporate ladder, he is following a very different path.
Concord should have been free to play and I am absolutely dreading the publics opinion when FairGame$ arrives. Whether people like it or not, Sony got to where they are with huge single player extravaganzas. Best to invest in those types of games instead of wasting cash on buying studios to chase a Gaas cash cow that has been tied down by other, better games.
A few months ago he said that it would only be 4 games. He said Indy would not be on PS5 and now he is saying that he is doing this to strengthen the Xbox brand? I don’t think he has said anything truthful for years now and I honestly think if you take the desk away, we would see a higher up Microsoft executive controlling him using a Dual Sense..
I never liked microsoft buying up entire publishers, the possibilities of gate keeping titles that at one time would have been available day one for both PlayStation owners and Xbox was not the way I wanted to see the future of gaming going. The news that this will be available mere months after it arrives on Xbox is great news for gamers in general as it surely highlights the way Microsoft will be moving forward with all their releases to come.
Never played this originally, although I do own it, so u a very much looking forward to playing this. The Thing is one of my favourite old horror movies, so I am sure it will be a cool visit!
Sad to see Horizon leaving, but it’s been there for quite some time now and has been an asset for the service. If Sony were to perhaps add God of War or the Remake/remaster of The last of Us to the service in its place, I’m sure that would go a good distance to appeasing people.
I wish Sony would do something completely out of the norm and, say, show the PS5 Pro. At an event like Gamescom it would get massive exposure and be a genuine surprise. All talk would be on Sony in a positive light and would get folk excited again.
Very much looking forward to playing this game, but the fact that so many concerns are surrounding the ps5 release is very worrisome. The console has been great at throwing out PS4 quality games at 60fps and too many people have been all over that, but as soon as something that rightly pushes the console to perform expected next generation graphical standards, it may struggle? I always thought the PS5 generation started way too early and if this doesn’t perform well on the console then all my fears will come true.. That means that this game would possible need the PS5 Pro to reach the desired levels of quality for the title and that doesn’t bode well for an Xbox release either. I think I’ll hold off on PS6 when the time comes as I really don’t want to go through another ‘generation’ like this one.
The original on the 360 and PS4 is still my favourite game in the series! I am very kuch looking forward to playing this again, and with how good it’s looking I can’t wait!!
At this point, Tekken wouldn’t be the same without him! Really hyped by the reveal! Tekken 8 has become my most played game in the series, just so awesome!
I saw an absolutely awesome bust statue of Shadow available in the Japanese collectors edition of the game, so I think I will pick that up for the launch! Game looks awesome and I can’t wait to play it!
With each passing Concorde Story, I wonder what would have happened if Sony hadn’t listened to Bungie about the Naughty Dog ‘Factions 2’ and even just given us an open beta on that game. There is no way that would have done worse than what is happening both here and the Suicide Squad game, yet Sony never gave us the chance to see for ourselves. Sony first party titles very rarely perform poorly, yet I think this is going to be a very sobering experience for them come Augusts release. This should and probably could have been a story driven experience and I 100% think way more people would have been interested. When the game was shown, there was a huge amount of positivity until the 5v5 was flashed on screen, I myself was super interested until that happened as I thought the characters looked pretty cool and I thought a ‘Gaurdians of the Galaxy’ type game would have been brilliant fun. I played the beta and even though I wasn’t too much of a fan of the gameplay, I thought the graphical design work that went into each character was exceptional. Would have so loved if it had been a brand new story driven IP from Sony. I think also that if this had been a free to play game then it would have better uptake, nothing to lose then, but £35 is dead on arrival I’m afraid. I would expect Fairgame$ to perform no better when that finally shows face again aswell.
I put an hour into the Beta and I really tried to like it. Gunplay is not as satisfying as I thought it would be, just way below the levels of Destiny 2, which I thought would have been met with so many people that worked on that at Firewalk. No, this game isn’t for me at all. If this had been a story driven game with multiplayer bolted on, I would have been all in. Sadly I’m all out. I don’t think it will be too long before Sony doubles down on their bread and butter story games, because if this is what comes out of Sonys First Party studios when it comes to live service, there are going to be a lot of fails.

100% Sony did the right thing keeping their games off their service day one! Microsoft only did it the way they have because they have the money to burn and they banked that they would attract way more people than they have doing this. Sure, games like COD will likely give them a big boost, but in general the games they have under their own umbrella really aren’t system seller quality anymore. Sony first party games are way better titles in general and Sony has done the right thing making money off them by selling them rather than renting them to gamers! If Sony had put their games on their own service day one, Sonys first party titles would not be of the quality that they are and that is a fact!
Amazing numbers for sure. I know FromSoftware listens to the fans, especially after the lowering of the difficulty through buff implementations (unnecessary in my personal opinion), but It would be good if they would perhaps integrate Trophies into the DLC. It just seems like a giant DLC that would really benefit from Trophy unlocks along the way! 😄
I would not be surprised if Capcom was planning a reboot of the series given that fact that there is a new voice actor in place and a new remaster, and I would be all for that!! I love the first game, played it to death on both 360 and PS4 and I really liked the second game too! Bought an Xbox One just to play Dead Rising 3, but didn’t like the direction that Capcom went with the 4th game. I think a reboot in the vein of the first game would be awesome though, I loved the whole vibe of a Day of the Dead feel to the proceedings!
I love the sense of accomplishment I get from completing tough games! I go for platinums and I have enjoyed games like Vanquish, Street Fighter 4, Cuphead and Ninja Gaiden 2! I wouldn’t miss out on playing a game simply because it’s supposed to be hard. If I like the look of it, I will definitely play it!
If it wasn’t for the fact that GAME got exclusivity on most of the Collectors Editions, I’d have stopped using them years ago. Nowadays with most CEs coming with codes rather than discs, there is less reason for me to buy sets nowadays anyway, so I can’t see myself using GAME in any way moving forward..
The biggest pain right now in the industry is that Microsoft announce games that are years and years away from completion and Sony tells almost nothing about anything. I would just love a middle ground where Sony would give a few names as to what they are working on in house and let people get excited like the good old days.
I wasn’t all that impressed with the games shown that were made by the Xbox Studios teams. If none of them ever made it to PlayStation, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
Like a lot of people, I liked the idea of a Single player story driven shooter that had a multiplayer component added, but once the 5v5 gameplay was highlighted at just about all there was, it kinda ruined the whole feel of the game for me. I will definitely try the Beta and a lot of my friends are willing to do the same. In its defence, the price point is a plus. But as this article highlights, people are just used to seeing a huge Story driven bonanza from Sony. Still not a fan of this Live Service jump either (which definitely has been downgraded since the first announcement).
They better hope that after all the technical issues they are having that The Final Shape lives up to the expectations and quality that Destiny players are desperate for, or it’s bye bye independence. I personally wouldn’t be too upset with that happening, because Bungie have been a train wreck of a company over the last few years and they need some kind of input to get them going in a better direction, because the current management and staff just aren’t up to the task anymore..
In all honesty, this should have been a really cool single player story driven game first and foremost and then had a bolted on multiplayer like they showed which could have been worked on over time. Imagine if the first Gears of War had been nothing but the multiplayer. It actually was an afterthought that worked really really well, but I don’t think it would have done anywhere near as well if it was just a multiplayer experience . I just find it hard to support something which will end up being live service 5v5 and that’s it.. It’s a shame, because I actually liked the look of the fighting. Gave me Unreal Tournament vibes..
This isn’t even slightly surprising. I am sure that by the end of the year there will be a Starfield announcement, Hellblade 2 will be on the way and (hopefully) games like Forza Horizon and Gears will have been announced. I said it a while back and got shredded, but I genuinely can’t see Microsoft launching too many future Xbox consoles before they are entirely 3rd party.
With the way things are going, Sony should just abandon the PC market entirely, because if they are going to limit who can play their games based entirely on if they can use a PSN account, the hatred that’s going to spew forth onto them is going to severely effect sales. It really is best that they just focus on their own PlayStation consoles and be done with it because this isn’t going to end at all well.
With each financial year, Capcom see more and more what gamers want and each year they release what we all want! It leads to growth and profits and amazing games!! I hope that Devil May Cry 6 is in the early stages of development, Dino Crisis or Onimusha is being considered for remakes and Darkstalkers would be a consideration for a return to the fighting scene. I would be even happier with Capcom than I already am!!
If Sony had bought Ninja Theory back in the day, the marketing for Hellblade 2 would have been absolutely insane by now. 2 weeks out and hardly anything from Xbox is just the norm these days. This is definitely going to be on PlayStation in the not too distant future. As far as Ninja Theory itself goes, co founder Tameem Antoniades left a while ago from the company and with the amount of time and money that Hellblade 2 has cost Microsoft, this is going to have to be a gargantuan hit or these guys days are numbered big time. I just can’t see them making anything that is going to be considered a must have game after Senuas latest adventure!
I haven’t really been buying too many games lately, so I paid up for the premium edition of this game. I have been on it most of the afternoon, it’s been great to play it! I have played this a bit on Xbox and I enjoyed it there too, even though I mostly played by myself, but my main friends core is on PlayStation and there are a few of them getting this aswell, so it should be even more fun that it was the last time I played!
With sales figures like this, I hope Bethesda and Microsoft see the huge amount of money that would be on the table for when Fallout 5 actually becomes a thing! But by then Microsoft could easily be a fully 3rd party developer. Time will tell. I haven’t watched the fallout show yet, but I do plan to. However, with the added interest in the series throwing the game into the limelight again, I have Fallout 4 downloaded and ready to play very soon! 😄
If nothing else, Sony can tout itself as having ‘The most powerful console in the world’, but I am still waiting to see what the PS5 can actually do since it’s been held back by the PS4/5 crossover. I think I’ll wait until PS6 for a new console!
Anything that leads to a new God of War game works for me for sure! I hated waiting for the New God of War 2018 after Ascension, so something that perhaps deals with Egyptian mythology will be Kratos’ next venture! I bought into PlayStation with the original God of War, so I definitely can’t have too much of this awesome franchise!! 😀
There is no way that there isn’t more Xbox ‘exclusives’ coming after the numbers that Sea of Thieves preorders are posting right now. It’s a game that I am very much looking forward to playing with friends myself! I would be utterly shocked if Starfield isn’t on, or at least announced for PS5 by the years end! And I do think we will see more and more games making the jump. Hellblade 2 and Forza Horizon 5 would not be too far fetched to expect either at some point. They will likely have Hellblade 2 on Gamepass for a 6 month to a year period before it is announced for PlayStation, but It’s a game a lot of people over here know about and it would do well for sure. Given the fact that PlayStation users buy games more so than what Gamepass allows means that there is nothing going against Microsoft making their games available on Sonys console.
Can’t wait to play this game again! I subscribed to Gamepass for a couple of months to try Starfield and Forza, but ended up playing Sea of thieves and Forza Horizon 4 until the sub expired! 250 Trophies? Bring it on!!
The demo was brilliant as expected, so 100% I am going to get it, but not day one as I have too much of a backlog of games that I definitely want to play. I suppose it will be a bit cheaper when I do which is worth it because if I buy it full price at launch, it is going to sit on the shelf for a few months anyway.
@Ergoshotz Personal opinions can differ from person to person and you are entitled to it. Not sure I agree with anything you said however apart from Forspoken, but Sony didn’t make that game. I personally wouldn’t choose any game that Xbox have over any of Sonys first party studio outputs, but that is my personal opinion.
With how much Microsoft lose on every Series X sold, they needed the consumers to offset each loss by buying loads of games. Step in Gamepass to totally ruin that tactic. With Series S causing all manner of headache for developers, trying to get the games that are supposed to be ‘next gen’ to run on the stopgap console, that has got to be a headache that many 3rd party developer would not want to suffer. This is just exactly what I thought would happen. PS5 made 2 consoles with zero difference internally (apart from the drive) and that means anyone releasing a PS5 game doesn’t have to mess around trying to get it to work on lower spec consoles (just look at how difficult it was to get Baldurs Gate 3 onto the Xbox consoles). Nope, by the years end I would imagine Starfield will have been announced for PlayStation, a Gears collection will be making its way to PlayStation and the release date of many a 1st party game to PS5 will get shorter and shorter from Xbox release. Probably a good idea, because if Microsoft hold off releasing their ‘AAA’ games around day and date on PlayStation , most people will see their quality seems to lack in comparison to what Sony throws out.
With how long it is taken to get properly into the PS5 generation, I won’t be buying a PS6 on launch let alone a PS5 Pro. I will wait another generation until I see games that actually make use of the consoles capabilities. So far I don’t think I have played anything that the PS4 couldn’t have handled.
I ain’t really worried about the inclusion of micro transactions. Capcom have been doing it for years. Games like Devil May Cry 4 and 5 allowed the player to purchase Blue Orbs or even Super Characters, something that could be unlocked in game with normal play anyway, but if people are willing to spend money to get it early, then that is entirely up to them. Using the Super Characters didn’t make the S Ranks possible in DMC5, it was simply there to mess around with and get damage boost on all attacks. Granted there is more of a benefit with the micro transactions in Dragons Dogma 2, but if a player doesn’t want to pay a penny more on the game, they are going to miss out on nothing that some playtime will achieve anyway!
I went into the Callisto Protocol with a very open mind very recently and I actually really enjoyed it! Sure, there was a lot about it to allow for comparisons to Dead Space, so I started to think of it as Dead Space 3 and protocol is a hellova lot better than that game was. I definitely would have loved to have seen a sequel!
I am definitely not in the habit of wishing a games company to fail, as this is my main hobby and interest, but the sooner The Final Shape gets released and probably tanks the better. The longer Bungie is allowed control of everything, the less there will be left to salvage if Sony takes control as was rumoured to happen should Bungie fail to meet financial sales targets. Sony will have to spend so much time and money trying to get Bungie back its reputation, it’s going to be a mammoth task. $3.6 Billion or whatever it was that Sony paid is a huge amount of payout for a studio that had basically one franchise so there is no danger that Bungie will close, but there is going to have to be some serious plans in place to turn things around. Most of, if not all of my gaming friends that I met on the original Destiny have given up the idea of playing the new expansion as they know it will be more of the same, so with the probability that a huge amount of people are thinking similarly, I really can’t see Bungie in control of its own ‘Destiny’ by the end of this year.
Sony might as well come out and officially confirm the existence of the console and start building hype about what it can do instead of letting every Twitter (X) ‘expert’ yack on about the specs that they have read themselves and as usual add to it with crazy number! I did read somewhere that this console was going to be pushed as the best place to play the next GTA game, so it will undoubtedly sell well when that game launches, as long as people can afford it. I imagine there will be some sort of package with the PS5 Pro and GTA 6 bundled together.
@Jamesblob I agree entirely with you, but this is way too sensible for Sony. What would really happen is they would take the money they make and funnel it into more GaaS games and all the people like me and you would not see the single player extravaganzas that we prefer!
I am really glad that this won’t see the light of day. Sony really need to keep their single player franchises as just that, single player! Not everything needs to be made into a live service. I personally prefer single player stories that I can enjoy by myself anyway! It’s good to see that developers can make good games in the live service vain like Helldivers 2 of course, but so many developers are making huge mistakes with their titles, Destiny and Suicide Squad being the top (bottom) two..
I tried it out, you can load up the Final Cut scenes on NG+ and pop the trophy for that instantly. I think insomniac are just scaremongering. They waited ages to release the NG+ option and now people (trophy hunters especially) don’t even have to play through the game before they can secure their 100% in seconds. Perhaps moving forward, developers really should add the NG+ option from release and oversights like this wouldn’t even be a thing.
I don’t think I have read anything so insane in a while. I definitely think WB needs to fail way harder than they just have to show them how gamers want to play games. After seeing Hogwarts perform so well and looking back at how good the Rocksteady Arkham games performed should be all they need to know about where to focus resources moving forward..

Re: Xbox Pondering PS5 Port of Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
Re: Sea of Thieves Fully Playable Now on PS5 via Early Access
I haven’t really been buying too many games lately, so I paid up for the premium edition of this game. I have been on it most of the afternoon, it’s been great to play it! I have played this a bit on Xbox and I enjoyed it there too, even though I mostly played by myself, but my main friends core is on PlayStation and there are a few of them getting this aswell, so it should be even more fun that it was the last time I played!
Re: Ex-Psygnosis, WipEout, Skate Devs Announce New Studio Starlight Games

Re: Fallout 4 Sales Up 7,500% in Europe as Bethesda Series Dominates
With sales figures like this, I hope Bethesda and Microsoft see the huge amount of money that would be on the table for when Fallout 5 actually becomes a thing! But by then Microsoft could easily be a fully 3rd party developer. Time will tell.
I haven’t watched the fallout show yet, but I do plan to. However, with the added interest in the series throwing the game into the limelight again, I have Fallout 4 downloaded and ready to play very soon! 😄
Re: Fresh PS5 Pro Report Reiterates Sony Demands for Upgraded Games
If nothing else, Sony can tout itself as having ‘The most powerful console in the world’, but I am still waiting to see what the PS5 can actually do since it’s been held back by the PS4/5 crossover. I think I’ll wait until PS6 for a new console!
Re: Sony Santa Monica Studio Seemingly Hiring for New God of War Game
Anything that leads to a new God of War game works for me for sure! I hated waiting for the New God of War 2018 after Ascension, so something that perhaps deals with Egyptian mythology will be Kratos’ next venture! I bought into PlayStation with the original God of War, so I definitely can’t have too much of this awesome franchise!! 😀
Re: Sea of Thieves Reportedly a 'Key Test' for More Xbox Games on PS5
Re: Sea of Thieves Lets You Plunder Over 250 PS5 Trophies in Monstrous Trophy List
Can’t wait to play this game again! I subscribed to Gamepass for a couple of months to try Starfield and Forza, but ended up playing Sea of thieves and Forza Horizon 4 until the sub expired! 250 Trophies? Bring it on!!
Re: Rumour: Sony to Host Big PlayStation Event Next Month
I’ll pass on watching this and simply read the negative reactions to what will likely be a GaaS showcase after it’s done…
Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Stellar Blade Demo?
The demo was brilliant as expected, so 100% I am going to get it, but not day one as I have too much of a backlog of games that I definitely want to play. I suppose it will be a bit cheaper when I do which is worth it because if I buy it full price at launch, it is going to sit on the shelf for a few months anyway.
Re: Xbox Planning to Release the 'Majority' of Its Exclusives on PS5
@Ergoshotz Personal opinions can differ from person to person and you are entitled to it. Not sure I agree with anything you said however apart from Forspoken, but Sony didn’t make that game. I personally wouldn’t choose any game that Xbox have over any of Sonys first party studio outputs, but that is my personal opinion.
Re: Xbox Planning to Release the 'Majority' of Its Exclusives on PS5
Re: Devs Allegedly Pondering the Point of Sony's PS5 Pro Upgrade
With how long it is taken to get properly into the PS5 generation, I won’t be buying a PS6 on launch let alone a PS5 Pro. I will wait another generation until I see games that actually make use of the consoles capabilities. So far I don’t think I have played anything that the PS4 couldn’t have handled.
Re: Capcom Responds to Dragon's Dogma 2 Microtransaction, Performance Backlash
Re: Callisto Protocol Dev Reveals Top-Down Spin-Off Project Birdseye
I went into the Callisto Protocol with a very open mind very recently and I actually really enjoyed it! Sure, there was a lot about it to allow for comparisons to Dead Space, so I started to think of it as Dead Space 3 and protocol is a hellova lot better than that game was. I definitely would have loved to have seen a sequel!
Re: Bungie Shuffles Marathon Leadership as Fears of Further Layoffs Loom
Re: Sony Reportedly Undertaking Internal Investigation Following Leaked PS5 Pro Specs
Re: Reminder: You're Losing Access to 7 Great PS Plus Extra Games Tomorrow
Lately I feel that the incoming games don’t match the quality of the outgoing games. Hopefully that improves..
Re: Cancelled Live Service Spider-Man PS5 Game Allegedly Surfaces
@Jamesblob I agree entirely with you, but this is way too sensible for Sony. What would really happen is they would take the money they make and funnel it into more GaaS games and all the people like me and you would not see the single player extravaganzas that we prefer!
Re: Cancelled Live Service Spider-Man PS5 Game Allegedly Surfaces
I am really glad that this won’t see the light of day. Sony really need to keep their single player franchises as just that, single player! Not everything needs to be made into a live service. I personally prefer single player stories that I can enjoy by myself anyway! It’s good to see that developers can make good games in the live service vain like Helldivers 2 of course, but so many developers are making huge mistakes with their titles, Destiny and Suicide Squad being the top (bottom) two..
Re: Spider-Man 2's New Game+ Update Adds Access to Dev Menu That Could Corrupt Your Saves
Re: Warner Bros' Reaction to Suicide Squad Flop Will Make You Question Your Sanity
