I love these types of games so I'll probably give this a roll in the hay

I've been asking for this for awhile. Except with OLED. Grrr why didn't they just go all the way?

I would caution people about getting this day one. I'm loving the game but please wait for the all clear from reviewers that is playable before spending your money. PS generally doesn't offer refunds or support that is worth anything if you have issues. Hopefully it's a smooth launch.

This game is incredible. Been playing on PC and haven't been this hooked on a game in a while.

@Vega37 Disagree. I don't buy $70 games. That has made me stop buying those games day 1. After the initial fomo wears off, it's easier to wait. And then games like Horizon FW or Ratchet and Clank that I would have bought in the past, they were on PS plus. They lost $120 just off those 2 games from me. Maybe they make it up on the extra 10 bucks off of everyone else and I'm a rare case, I don't know. But the price hike was a wake up call for me on how much money I was spending just to play a game on release that was inferior in a lot of cases to the game you get months or a year later.

My brother moved to game fly after the hike. So there is another example. I just wonder if the hike is really helping the bottom line. How many more me's are out there?

No OLED is a no-go. My phone and PSPlay is better.

I remember when PushSquare was talking about this game like it was going to change the industry. Too bad it didn't live up to its potential.

@CKFilms Yep. No reason with their skill they can't create a CoD competitor. I always liked Killzone better than CoD anyways.

Looks pretty cool. I'll check the reviews when it releases and probably wait for it to come down off of a $70 price tag.

@cassiel Yes, I have reinstalled the game at Square Enix's request and the same thing is happening. Now they want me to rebuild the database on the PS5. I'm dubious whether this will work but I am going to try it anyways. I am using Performande mode, which is supposed to be less strenuous than the graphics mode, but I will try graphics to see if there is still problems.

@my_dude I don't believe it is a PS5 issue as every other game works perfect. Never had an overheating message and again this happens sometimes when cold booting the game, so it's not overheating. I even checked the vents and its super clean. Square Enix support did say there are other users reporting these issues but it seems the number is very small. Thanks for the well wishes.

@Neptunes No, horizontal, disc version, ton of airflow.

I play on performance mode and the game crashes constantly. It has nothing to do with overheating as it happens right after booting the game up sometimes. Last night was the final straw, I can't even complete a battle.

Contacted Square enix support and I've tried all the usual stuff except rebuilding the database. So I'll be doing that this evening I guess. Pretty disappointed, it seems like only a very small amount of users are being impacted by this.

@NEStalgia Things change and evolve. It's not like XV was just like XII or XII was just like IX. FF is what Square Enix makes it. It's their baby and good on them for having a new direction and making it good. Their job is to make money and this game is going to make a shipload.

It's so good. Refreshing to see a company with this polished of a game and this much confidence. It's going to crush when reviews roll in.

@LifeGirl Oh, they've been clear they are coming, but have promised only cosmetic things. But yeah waiting a few months is always a good idea. A few updates, maybe a price drop, you're almost always rewarded for waiting.

@Nem Same, I stopped buying them because half the game is hidden behind microtx. It's a shame because the gear and unlocks are really cool, but it's damn near impossible to unlock everything without paying extra. If they had a version that was I don't know, 60 bucks, and came with all the content I'd be down. Insane concept, I know.

$70 price has definitely impacted me buying new games. I would have normally bought Horizon but I didn't due to the price and then it was easy to just wait it out once the hype subsided. Then they added it to Plus and I'm enjoying it now and feel I did the right thing. I've only bought one game (GT) at $70. I am probably going to get another soon (FF). But their decision to raise prices has most definitely lost them money from me.

Can't wait to get back to this at some point, should have a lot of new stuff to check out when I do

@Max_the_German Huh? There are tons of jrpgs with a cutesy cartoon look, or anime, or whatever else. This game doesn't look run of the mill jrpg at all, it looks like a western rpg instead.

Wow. The subtle details in Clive's face that they changed really gives him a more forlorn and grim look. Unlike others commenting here I think every screenshot is better... upgrades across the board.

For the love of God get better voice actors this time

I dont know about this decision. This game needs every selling point it can have to sell well. To lock a (admittedly dumb imo) feature behind DLC when it is clearly ready at launch is such a bad move. It would read so much better to say "Daedelic has gone the extra mile here and hired professional voice actors to give you the option of hearing elven language and we are including this in the base game from day one". Maybe they hired the VA and are giving them a pool of commissions from DLC sales, who knows... but the optics are bad. I don't think it will sell well anyways, not many people have been clamoring to play as Gollum lol

@rjejr Same. I watched the preview yesterday and I'm sold. I don't want to spoil sidequests or any other systems.

This is a weird take. The game is 70 bucks, I would be concerned if they weren't showing it off. Horizon got this same treatment.

@MatthewJP He's right, in the beginning it was ridiculous the amount of racing you had to do to earn enough credits for the high end cars after you completed the main tasks. People quickly resorted to cheating with certain cars by taking advantage of the broken tuning.

@elpardo1984 They've basically fixed the economy now. There are a lot more ways to make money. That first month or so was rough, but don't let those first missteps cause you to miss out on the game, it is a great game.

If I was never into Harry Potter would I like this? The game looks pretty.

@get2sammyb As someone that really wants to get into VR but the old headset made them sick, in your opinion does the new features help? Wondering if someone at push square falls into this category as well and could give a take on if enough has been done to now make it more enjoyable for us squeamish?

Remember how awesome the concept looked in that very first ps5 teaser? Been nothing but downhill from there.

Let's just hope we get Pedro from Game of Thrones and not Pedro from WW84

They should just shelve the franchise for several more years and go create something else with the team.

Dang Midnight Sun's getting a lot of praise here. I remember the reviews being middling so I passed but I'm a turn based tactics guy so it sounds like I should try it during the next sale.

I loved that trailer so much. I honestly rewatched it several times over the years leading up to release. I freaking loved Cyberpunk 2077, but I also played on PS5 (on release) and now a high end gaming laptop after all the updates.
