@Deoxyr1bose Anime IPs have a lot of potential to be great games that don't ask that you've seen the show, instead that's all they do with it. The Witcher games didn't ask you to read the books, nor does most other licensed adaptations. they need just to ban anime arena fighters and warrior games for the next 5 years and make real creative games.
@tameshiyaku The flipside of this also true, you get it at launch, but if I don't get a Nintendo game at launch I see less value and don't want to buy it as I didn't want it at launch. It's no longer worth the full price. I don't mind paying more for launch, but I won't pay full price for a game two years after its release.
Wow, this is so sad. Imagine feeling that the old tomb raider games are offensive, so much so you have to put a warning on something kids of every kind enjoyed growing up. Removing it would have been ridiculous.
@get2sammyb The ESRB has rated it M for Suggestive themes, blood and gore, language, and violence. It seems to be nothing more than some typical fanservice. I found this on the PS Store.
@extragood Historically the studio redoes act 3 of their games entirely since they ship complete and worse off than the first two, and act 3 in BG3 needs it as well, so I think if you wait a year or so a “definitive edition” that redoes act will show up. No guarantee, but look up what happened with D:OS one and two.
@species Yes, I finished the game. The control ending was a 30 second cutscene that was obviously added in as an afterthought. The other “good” ending was nothing but “hey you defeated the BBG and nothing you did beforehand actually matters or affects anything”. All of the party members didn’t even have a single line and certain companion quests just didn’t finish. They later patched an epilogue for one of the endings, but it still left companion questlines unfinished(just a hastily thrown in so I did stuff), the other ending which was hyped for half the game was still a 30 second cutscene. The epilogue is still oddly empty in some ways too, it also contradicted some of the tiny romance resolution scenes (which constructed what came before) because the ending lost all sense of basic planning. Some of games most hyped moments never happen or have any consequence. It technically had an ending, but it was obvious that it was almost all cut from the game and only an incomplete sliver remained.
@Maaster89 Alone doesn’t work. It’s not balanced for it at all and you’ll have a hard time doing a medium mission by yourself most likely. Matchmaking has gotten much better since launch though and if you don’t mind some randoms (it plays fine with randos) definitely still get it.
I’m glad we’re still getting improvements. I wonder when they’ll do an overhaul that will require new saves because it’s so extensive. The automatic dialogue one in particular got super annoying. Nothing like the 8 charisma cleric getting dialouge instead of my rogue built to be a face.
@GiliusThunderdome They boasted about 17000 (variations) on the ending and then the game didn’t even ship with an ending. They never were. This has been the most successful con at shipping a blatantly unfinished game I’ve ever seen.
I played some Gears of War 4, and it was surprisingly mediocre game. combat wasn't crunchy and lacked impact, difficulty was wonky, and someone but a giant red hear in the middle of the screen whenever you got hurt like an intern made a game in 2008. For these reasons, Gears did not get any of my votes.
I hate that’ll continue to use CR. It shows have merged into Funimation. I hope this violates terms and they see a lawsuit come their way. The CR app is barely catching up to Funi with features and it’s pathetic and showing.
I feel like the poll is kinda too broad in that has games with no confirmed or likely sequels that aren’t already on PS. I think narrowing to games that have been announced already for Xbox only past or present and not PS would be more informative.
@thefourfoldroot1 I see plenty of girls IRL who have bodies like, similar, or close to this, or just as attractive with different natural proportions. We have way overstated "unattainable".
they should have said it ages ago if this was true. I also don't believe them. Either, they already lost the day 1 collector's edition from me because I do believe we will get the full version later.
@lacerz Definitely, Xbox has been so tragically mismanaged for ages now. It wouldn't surprise me if they one day try sell the publishers they bought for a profit or break even and then try a more traditional strategy of cultivating good games if they get a big management shift.
It sounds like threw money to help Xbox, then wanted to put it all on Gamepass, realized the lack of word of mouth from not being on PS and the lack of actual sales didn't help the bottom line, and now are trying to fix the billions they used on publishers in a way that doesn't make a lot of sense. I think MS's Xbox management has simply been a disaster and throwing money around has made some people actually want to see a return sooner. Xbox has been terribly mismanaged ever since the first 2/3rds of the 360's lifespan ended.
Without PS5 their games just aren’t getting the same spotlight too, so I imagine they feel like they might be losing out on Xbox sales too due to it not being on the PS5 and losing word of mouth.
@CharlieChooChoo Why would there be a Beta announced? They are insanely rare for games like this, or rather they never happen and sometime early access for a SP game on PC happens.
Sony keeping it to the website and losing out on launch promotion and making take who want to buy it at a store as an awful Idea. It went into retail with little fanfare.
Fast travel is good, but placing limits on it can also be good for the most part. See RDR2, the first Dragon's Dogma, Morrowind, etc. Some games just aren't meant to not have it and work better with it, like AC:Mirage, where exploration isn't part of the point like in DD.
This sounds like it was originally a good game then made into a live service game and wrecked completely. Corp just wanted buzzwords in their projects for a predictable disaster.
@QualityGeezer I believe the first game didn’t have the time or the budget the Devs thought they would have and wanted. DD2 is almost seems like less of a normal “sequel” and more like what he wanted the first game to to be lol.
So it got voted through a weighted system where it happened to be on enough people’s list? To saying nothing of artistic merit, advancing the industry forward. Your system begs for safe games that many people like in an 8/10 manner as opposed to giving a meaningful award. I’m sorry but your system here is broken and makes your GotY list look like a joke. You guys should be discussing meaningful achievements in gaming what will have influence on the industry. This is really sad and I know you guys can come together to make a more me sinful list. Ever since you started making a ton of lists, I feel the quality has done down. Like you put out “best co-op games” while taking user ratings and then taking user rankings for any game with co-op regardless of the co-op quality. This feels like a very low effort list with no serious consideration and was just done with a vote to save time. I say this not to be rude, but to give constructive criticism because I know this site can do better.
This was the most disappointing game of the year for me by far. It was a potential game of the decade, only to fall apart as totally incomplete when you got to the end. It was an Early Access release sold as a finished game. It should be GoTY, but it’s not even close. That being said, Spider-Man 2 gives the credentials of democracy much doubt and the fact that influence, doing something new, pushing the medium forward, etc, should all be considered by people voting and a safe super heir sequel, as good as it is, gets GotY over much more artistic and genre-pushing games makes me question who was allowed to vote and how shallow their thought process is, that safe flashy fun was enough to give such an award.
Is this website ever going to acknowledge that BG3 shipped without its ending and only partially patched it in months afterwards? BG3 is one of the most atrocious cons I have evver no matter how good the feel acts are. It should’ve BG3, but FF16 was fantastic and had its ending in full and didn’t train wreck breaking most of its promises. For
There needs to be a law that says already purchased digital purchases super-cede any other listening agreement so this can’t legally happen. It can only be removed for sale.
Why are we calling a game that had the ending as part of the cut content GotY? BG3 has lowered gaming standards overall, and they literally started, only started, patching in the ending 4 months after release. And to be honest, this one is just kind of gross… and a huge distraction from actual issues. Sadly their attention grabbing is working like a charm.
