Trailer looks good. Disappointed in the M rating. Seems like more developers/publishers are including M content, which I would think could potentially limit sales. But I know that GoWR and Eldin Ring sold plenty, so maybe not.

I have read ... and believe ... that apologies are inherently self-serving. I'm sure that no CEOs, etc. take responsibility unless they know that there will be no real repercussions.

I have no interest in this game anyway, but I avoid crap games by not pre-ordering anything, and waiting for reviews.

When I bought a PS5 last October, one of the first games I bought (good sale) and played was Tales of Arise, my second Tales game other than Vesperia on 360 years ago. I enjoyed Arise for a while, but the chaotic, computer controlled party members finally put me off.

Unfortunately (for me at least), the combat of GFR looks similarly chaotic. I have been interested in this game, but depends on how it reviews.

@invictus4000 I had heard that FF16 was rated M, and based on your comment, it sounds like it will be too much for my interest. I'm not a prude, but I just don't see the necessity in a video game. SE will make millions on FF16 anyway.

Didn't read the complete list or all of the comments, but I did run into the Aerial Capture North bug, which sounds like has NOT actually been fixed.

I'm about to start the 'His Final Act' quest, I think ( just finished the amusement park/volcano quest). Hopefully any related bugs in the list have actually been fixed.

I didn't know that suits of armor were standard rock climbing apparel ... except for a recent episode of The Mandalorian.

If it was a T rated single player game, I might be interested, but not an M rated MMORPG.

Not a LoL player, but enjoyed Ruined King on Switch. After too many mediocre reviews, passing on MageSeeker, but will take a look at Convergence reviews when available.

Just finished and enjoyed (for the most part) Fallen Order, so will probably wait a while on Survivor. Possibly next Black Friday, but maybe before.

To me the controller is just meh. Not ugly, but nothing special. I feel the same about the Zelda TotK controller.

Playing and enjoying Burning Shores. Did a quick web search but didn't find anything, so asking here. Does the BS graphical upgrade also upgrade the core FW graphics after installed, when traveling back to the FW map?

Played this a few times on DS back in the day. Found it unique and addicting. It's been a while, so will probably buy the remake if it is reasonably priced and reviews well.

No crashes so far probably 3/4 way through, but a couple of issues. The key found in the village seems to have respawned after I used it, and when I needed the SunWing to pull off a grill at the top of a building for a brimstone, the removed grill still blocked the brimstone. Reloaded a recent save to try again. Although still somewhat blocked, was able to crouch jump into small area for brimstone, but couldn't get out. Doh! Ended up just travelling back to a campfire.

On a somewhat related note, while recently mining through Disney+ looking for something to watch, I stumbled across an old animated movie called 'The Black Cauldron' from 1985. Early on there is a character named Gurgi, who kind of looks like a small Yeti. And the way he talks is VERY similar to Gollum. Even found some comments on the internet about it.

Unfortunately, even though some of the background art is decent, IMO the BC movie is pretty mediocre. Turned it off about half way through, and not sure if I will finish it.

Some of this may be due to a few of SE's recent releases being labeled as under performing. Possibly some fear and desperation behind the big marketing push for FF 16. I imagine that many at the company are feeling the pressure to deliver a hit.

I have enjoyed a few FFs over the years, but haven't played them all. I am interested in 16, but personally am a bit put off by the Mature rating. Will see how it reviews.

Premise and gameplay could be fun, but graphics are a pixelated mess IMO. Just not a fan of 'retro' pixel graphics. Probably pass.

Bought HFW during Black Friday and ended up completing it, putting in 200 hours. Wasn't really playing anything else at the time, and enjoyed it for the most part. Since I never bought a PS4, didn't play HZD, and probably won't unless the rumored remaster happens.

Although I was really impressed with the overall graphics and world, I personally didn't find the settlements 'achingly beautiful'. They served their purpose, but have to admit that I'm not a fan of what I consider their mostly convoluted layouts. Kind of a hassle to find stuff, at least for me.

However, I'm definitely looking forward to the DLC.

Picked up HFW during Black Friday sale, shortly after finally found a PS5. Really enjoyed it, so planning on getting BS DLC fairly soon, possibly pre-order.

Recently bought SW Jedi: Fallen Order on sale for $3.99 and have been enjoying it for the most part, being almost to the end. Since it does have a few frustrations (mainly being ambushed by multiple enemies in close quarters), I may hold off on Survivor for a bit.

I never really thought about this until I recently started playing Jedi Fallen Order on PS5. I assumed that they were to hide loading times and didn't really bother me until I recently got to the Taron Malicos boss battle. So far I have probably tried to beat him 2-3 dozen times on Jedi Master difficulty. I feel that I am slowly figuring out the patterns, timings, and techniques, but have to admit that having to go through a squeeze gap to get back to him every time is annoying. They probably could have put the Meditation/Save point on the other side of the gap, but didn't for some reason.

Recently bought Fallen Order for $4 on PS store. Been enjoying it for the most part, but on Jedi Master difficulty, too often I have been ambushed by multiple enemies (melee and ranged) in tight quarters, which has led to frustration. This seems like lazy game design, although overall I am impressed by the graphics, controls, and voice acting. Will probably play Survivor at some point, but not on release. Being one of a seemingly small minority not interested in either TLoU games or TV show, I would prefer a new IP as well.

I wonder if whoever owns the rights to Bruce Lee's likeness gets royalties for this.

Not sure if it's part of this sale, but just bought Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for $3.99 a few days ago. So far enjoying it. A definite bargain.

Never really been into MMOs, having only played Dark Age of Camelot (had to look it up) and the original Guild Wars for about a month each 15-20 years ago.

However, having enjoyed Airship Syndicate games Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Darksiders Genesis, and Ruined King (all on Switch in my pre-PS5 days), Wayfinder has me interested.

Will see how it turns out and reviews.

Unfortunately probably not enough personal or political will to solve any of these 'insurmountable' problems. As human beings, we are mostly reactive, not proactive IMO. A lot more people will have to have their quality of life significantly impacted before they maybe give a $#!+.

Skipped the first one, but downloaded and played part of the demo for OT2 using Temenos.

I like the HD-2D graphics, but typical mediocre JRPG dialog and voice acting is unappealing. Plus, after having played many JRPGs over the years, pretty much done with random battles.

Maybe on a deep sale down the road. Looking forward to Sea of Stars.

Have you ever played any of the Mercenaries SRPG series on Switch, specifically Mercenaries Rebirth: Call of the Wild Lynx? Just did a reminder search, and remember being tempted by that one, as it seems to have reviewed better than it's predecessors.

I used to enjoy SRPGs more, but after 35 years of gaming, have to admit that general slog that SRPGs entail is less appealing. I did get deep into FE: TH, and generally enjoyed it. But passed on Triangle Strategy, Tactics Ogre remake, and FE: Engage (yes, I have a Switch also).

Had to search around, but found info on an old Xbox 360 SRPG that I remember enjoying because I remember it being more streamlined and accessible: Vandal Hearts - Flames of Judgement.

Having skipped the PS4 (after owning 1-3), I wasn't familiar with the Playstation Store when I finally found a PS5 last October. Unsurprisingly I guess, the PS Store can be as much of a slog as the Switch eShop, the only other next/current gen console that I have owned over the last few years. Apparently no one has thought of a solution for customers who want to browse for nothing in particular. I at least figured out how to filter in only PS5. I plan to try the 'full game/bundle' solution recommended in a previous comment.

Have never played a Monster Hunter game, but would take a look if they release a demo on PS5.

After finally finding a PS5 (digital edition) a couple of months ago, I passed on Elden Ring and God of War due to the mature rating, but bought HFW during the online Black Friday sale. Waited a few weeks to finally start playing it (played Kena and Ratchet & Clank first). Now that I am well into HFW, I think that it is one of the best games that I have ever played. Not perfect (no game is a 10 IMO), but definitely agree a 9/10.

I was looking forward to FF16 being back in a medieval fantasy setting, so I am disappointed that the developer and publisher have chosen to include content that warrants a mature rating. Having been a gamer for 35 years, I'm well aware that most video games (and media in general) equate 'action' with violence, and I'm OK with the level of violence in Horizon Forbidden West. As human beings, we are great rationalizers.

I'm also not a proponent of censorship. I think that most of us are capable of deciding what type of content supports our own true nature. I'll be voting with my dollars by not buying FF16. I doubt that SE needs my $70 anyway.

I finally found my first PS5 (Digital 1200 series) a month ago at a Target in Colorado. The first two games I downloaded were Tales of Arise (on sale) and Kena: Bridge of Spirits (NOT on sale at the time).

I have really enjoyed Kena, am satisfied with my purchase at full price, and highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they might like it. It is as beautiful (and challenging) as the reviews that I read stated.

I have since picked up a few Black Friday sale games: Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Forbidden West, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Lego Star Wars. Have only played R & C so far, and am really enjoying it.

I actually prefer the vocal stylings of Hedy Lamarr. Or was it Hedley?

Another Square RPG with lousy dialog and bad English voice actors. Do the Japanese execs at Square not realize this, or just not care? Doesn't matter I guess. I'll pass, but I imagine that it will sell well enough.

Being an older gamer, I played the originals back in the day, and remember enjoying them for the most part. And I remember seeing trailers for a more modern looking version (the reboot?) several years ago, but remember it being unnecessarily (IMO) brutally violent. To each our own, but just not something I choose to subject myself to.

Had only played 1 or 2 older Ys games before when I bought on sale and played Ys VIII on Switch about a year ago. Ended up enjoying it for the most part for a pretty good while, but ultimately ran out of gas. Although I remember it running well, some of the graphics weren't great. I understand that it was a port. If the PS5 version gets a major graphical overhaul, may consider it again ... when I finally own a PS5.
