I wonder what sega will do with the extra human resources and whatnots. With the arcade segment gone, will they focus more on consoles or mobile(considering that's what killed arcades).

@lolwhatno looks like it takes inspiration from a couple of games. Obvious being og r6, a little payday with securing civilians and perps(if ya want). Slow, methodical, stacking, breaching, stun and clearing. Hopefully this and gtfo are console bound

I think there is a void in the old school socom/ghost recon/rainbow six/operation flashpoint-like games. More tactical, less Michael bay. And to supplant that michael bay/cod style gameplay, M.A.G. II or another warhawk.

An open-universe star wars game would be epic. Think star citizen, or elite dangerous with star wars, everywhere. Or if no man's sky had a star wars add-on, etc. Something of that magnitude.
Or if you're gonna go linear, a darth bane game, and how the whole rule of two, came to be, etc.

I'm gonna enjoy this game. But I'm interested to see the speed runs of the game. Someone who put in the time and effort, to finish the game with the protagonist at 8 years old😆😆😆

@lolwhatno don't get me wrong, I don't like toiling away, on one game, for multiple endings(most times, there are exceptions). Having ONE ending can be great. I guess it would've been better, if I didn't know my actions had zero impact on the ending. I'll definitely enjoy everything in between, it's just a spoiler without spoiling. Thanks pushsquare😆

It'd be no different than ea play being on ps. But who gets what. Does Sony get paid for having ea play/gamepass on ps? I don't see why ps would pay for a competitor's service. Not everyone would use it, digital and physical sales, would still occur.

Killing floor 2 has been doing aliens, zombies, monsters, clowns, mutants for the longest time. And they're still updating it, pretty cheap and good. A lot of stages and classes.

Anywho, I think sony should sit pat, especially with their first party games coming soon, not to mention their exclusivity deals are still in place with other devs/pubs. No need to hit the panic button, unless their future is a lot murkier now.

Other than this, there aren't many first party games that get the ps4 to ps5 upgrade treatment. Is sony gonna release "director's cut" of all their ps4 first party games?

R6s was interesting because of the unpredictability of the enemies. I don't think replacing them with basic ai will suffice, hopefully it's halo infinite bots level at least.

@lolwhatno if we look at it logically, what does ps stand to really lose, maybe. Diablo, cod, overwatch, spyro and crash? Cod is the only money maker. All the others are more about history and nostalgia, than current gaming kings. As I stated in another article, so long as I have my GoW, hzd, GoTsushi, etc, I'm good.

Maybe this is more of a ploy by MS, to get ps first party titles on xb. Kind of how ms finagled a deal with nintendo, so nin gets banjo kazooie and xb gets goldeneye.

I don't buy ps consoles for CoD. I buy ps consoles for the GoW, GoTsushi, hzd, spiderman, wolverine(now), days gone, etc. Their exclusives. Which is enough for me and others. I bought a ps4 solely to play hzd. And the other games were icing on the cake. Does this suck, for some, sure. But so long as it doesn't affect those great games, I'm good.

@GamerDad66 ummm, no. Just no. Just because the games are on a service, doesnt mean you can't/aren't allowed to buy them. They're still sold digitally and physically. Except for sony and psnow. Can't play mgs 4 unless I want to stream it, from a rental service or pay upwards of $200+ to get a ps3 and the game.

@ShogunRok I'd take a remaster of the dragonball z legends on saturn, from yesteryear. That was a fun 3 v 3 fighter(?), action adventure game(?).

Hmmm. With GoW and hzd and other ps titles on steam, the steamdeck may be my unofficial playstation portable when it comes out.

I'm going to have to see the pricing first. Then try to figure out if the "retro games" will be added to, on a consistent basis or if they'll drip feed it, like nso. And if those ps4/5/retro games will be downloadable.

When it comes to backwards compatibility and Sony's vast library of ps1, 2, 3 games, does it fall on sony or the devs/pubs to make these games available? Is licensing going to be an issue on how many or what games get the BC treatment? Syphon filter was partly dev and pub by sony interactive, so no worries there. But soul reaver was dev by crystal dynamics and pub squarenix/eidos.

@get2sammyb can ya blame us? What with ALL the great videogame movie adaptations out there😆 This seemed to be the easiest one to adapt. No aliens or fantastical monsters or zombies. Just a globetrotting (mass murdering) archeologist, with a great nathan fillion template to use as a start.

@Jaz007 I feel the show should be seen from calypso's perspective and lean towards TMB. And he visits blackfield asylum and offers the inmates the chance for a wish, if they participate in his race/game.
-keep a GoT/TWD/squid games-vibe going. Who's gonna die? Who knows, just like the game. That way no one knows who the victor will be, til the end.
-each episode will feature an origin story or two, then the visit from calypso.
-culminating in a two-episode finale, where the remaining few battle it out, before facing calypso.

How is any of this hard to do?

I'm judging it as a whole. It does what it sets out to do. A yearly fee to play online, cloud storage, free* games. I'll give it an B. Could be better, glad it's not worse.
