Re: US Government's FTC Will Attempt to Block Microsoft's Activision Buyout

Robocod

Fully agree that the expressions of the FTC's concerns,& moreso Microsoft/Xbox's track record speaks for itself that this is a poor deal for gamers....that is,any gamers that play on systems in direct competition to XB.

Phil Spencer made such a big deal about 3rd party timed exclusives being anti-gamer & then spun the "gaming for all" rhetoric during the lead up to the Zenimax purchase only to show their true intent once the ink dried & anything not already under contract with Sony instantly went exclusive.
It's been laughable to hear them arguing in Europe that titles like Elder Scrolls were small selling franchises like they were an indie developer! As it stands, for all the rhetoric of "But what about FF7 remake!",XB/MS has been quietly cornering the western rpg IP's under their exclusive umbrella already.

Likewise, for all the PR War/carrot dangling of COD,the silence on the rest of the IP's like Crash,Spyro, future Diablo/Starcraft,etc. have been deafening.
Rather than bother investing billions into creating new IP's,Phil Spencer has been weilding the corporate credit card & taking the easier route of buying existing entire AAA publishers & use the established 3rd parties & Gamepass as a means to block competition including timed exclusives or PS Plus etc.
Timed exclusives are annoying...but they are timed...even Square recently stated its unlikely to continue doing one format releases in the future like it had been this past ps4/ps5 gen.

As to if this'll survive the courts & a desperate Bobby Kotick looking for a golden parachute out of his mismanagement? Maybe not due to years of mega corps like Google,FB,Disney etc. But it'll be a thorn in their side from doing much meantime.

Re: Preview: 20 Hours of Diablo 4 on PS5 Has Us Believing in Blizzard's Latest Trip to Hell

Robocod

Still curious how much of a story campaign there'll be in this in comparison to the inevitable online mode(s) with mtx? 🤔

Like it or hate it though, given the way Xbox/MS is gobbling up the 3rd party western themed RPG's/ARPG devs/publishers there'll be fewer opportunities for PS players so enjoy the opportunities whilst there still available!
(Slightly off topic, but can't help but think CDPR could be a future XB target for similar reasons at this rate).

Re: Microsoft Invites Sony to Sign Its Own 10-Year Call of Duty Deal

Robocod

Oh yes, that lovely PR machine chestnut again of "Let there be competition!!"...saysthe 2 trillion dollar Microsoft whom rather than spending 70billion on creating their own IP's,instead buys out one of the biggest AAA 3rd party publishers so it can restrict the potential future releases to maybe just one IP (at its discretion),as well as which subscription service.🙄

The same 2 trillion dollar "indie" who also killed off PS5 versions of Starfield & Elder Scrolls 6 the moment the ink dried on the Zenimax deal whilst initially spouting the same "gaming for all" mantra & Gamer Phil's infamous timed exclusives are anti gamer rantings?

Yes,all console makers engage in 3rd party deals, like it or hate it...but to pretend Xbox is just a tiny little indie developer when their parent company is actively spending billions buying up the biggest AAA Publishers & 3rd parties around to do the exact opposite of what defines competition & get away with it truly astounds.

Re: PS Plus Premium Likely Getting Star Wars Battlefront II from PSP

Robocod

@get2sammyb It still seems bizarre how despite marketing PS Deluxe/Premiun as a tier for PS1,PS2 & PSP games alongside streamable PS3 titles, the reality seems to have been a relatively poor ps1 emulation with promises of dual NTSC/PAL version choice abandoned for further titles, literally a couple of PS2 titles rebadged from the PS4 Classics range & no attempt to redo or improve that ps2 emulator which leaves a sporadic few psp "new" releases! 😕

The whole exercise seemed little more than a rebadge of PS Now which still remains unavailable for most psn regions
For a revamp meant to gain more subscribers, Sony's reluctance to expand it seems destined to let it wither on the vine & again claim legacy psn support isn't popular when the reality is they haven't really committed resources to it.😕

Re: Report: FTC Could File an Antitrust Lawsuit to Block Xbox's Activision Buyout

Robocod

After all the promises made during the Zenimax purchase I tend to take any public promises of COD staying multiplatform with a pinch of salt.
Note however not a snippet of a suggestion of any other Activision Blizzard IP's seeing Playstation sequels.

Keeping in mind that for all the FF7/XVI timed exclusives XB/MS have cornered the vast majority of the western RPG AA/AAA developers already & just a cheque away from buying CDPR. Not to mention they've already indicated they're keen to make more buyouts including the Japanese market too.

All that means either Sony has to pursue further buyouts or spread themselves thin developing other games eg rpg's etc.,that have traditionally relied on 3rd parties for.

Gamepass might seem wonderful value for day 1 indie games alongside the eventual heavy hitters of Starfield,Elder Scrolls,COD,Diablo, Fallout etc., but if they're the only service to offer them one has to doubt those $1 XB live gold to gamepass deals would stick around....much less the concept of buying games.

Do I think the U.S. authorities would block such a deal? In this day & age of Facebook, Amazon,Apple & juggernauts like Tencent & Netease, its unlikely...but contrary to the nonsense XB have been spouting, you can't have competition when there's less viable players in the market.

Re: Microsoft Admits Its Games Are Worse Than Sony's

Robocod

Microsoft: We can't make games as critically good as Playstation!!🤯
Also Microsoft: But we can sink billions into buying 3rd party publishers & all the 3rd party IP's that were multiplatform & keep them off the competition going forward instead of creating our own, that's just waaay too much work!!😂🙄

Re: PS Plus Extra Was Designed as a 'Best of' PS Now Game List

Robocod

@DualWielding @Rob_230 Not only haven't they added any PS2 games since the defunct PS4 range,I seem to recall noting several of those titles were listed as incompatible or "significant issues" working on PS5 list.

It saddens me that for all the millions being spent on live service games studios, mobile studios etc.,the current PS management seem totally indifferent to putting any resources into a studio or two like a Digital Eclipse that could develop a good emulation base for PS1 & PS2 classics to work properly & with good features for a true classic games library to be converted/made available!

Nevermind a similar group to maybe redo some of the PS3 back catalogue if emulation is considered too hard for the PS5.

The current strategy of relying on effectively PS Now streaming not only feels cheap, but where are they supposed to source more of the server blades to roll out in regions like mine where PS Now never existed?
Given PS Deluxe probably exists in more regions than those with Premium, they're reaping $20/year more than Extra (my region. Nearly double the 12month price of Essential overall),for a retro games library that's barely been added to & certainly lacking PS2 Classics like the recent Premium additions of Ratchet & Clank & Sly Cooper!

Instead we get silence & a hope the issue goes away or Jim Ryan to again claim Classic Games aren't popular with low Premium/Deluxe metric usage when the reality is they never really backed it in the first place!

Re: Disgruntled PS Plus Premium Members Can't Downgrade for Black Friday Discount

Robocod

@thedevilsjester Still is an issue on older Plus titles, sadly! They did change it a little while ago obviously, but seems like in those instances they release a "plus" version & there's the store version.

@get2sammyb Despite Playstation management claiming to always be "listening" to feedback whether the blog/Twitter etc.,the utter silence they've given to PS Deluxe regions & indeed the entire subject of people asking where are the ps1/ps2 classics additions has me shaking my head!

Re: Ubisoft Shares Early Splinter Cell PS5 Remake Concept Art

Robocod

Whilst a full on remake will hopefully not turn into another Ubi live service grindfest,it's still saddens me another opportunity for an updated, working ps2 classics emulation for Deluxe/Premium to release the OG series or port the HD Trilogy (rather than be locked into PS Now type streaming),over goes begging!

Though more a Sony issue than just Ubisoft, it does highlight again the lack of effort in updating/ replacing the old ps2 classics emulation with an improved, working one on ps4/5.

There's money to be made in classics Mr Ryan,it just helps if you have a management that doesn't do it on the cheap & then claims it isn't popular to justify the expense!

Re: The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me (PS5) - One for the Fans Lacks Ambition

Robocod

Probably play the waiting game & wishlist it for a sale 9-12months later hopefully at a deep enough discount by sounds of it.🤔

Haven't picked up the Quarry yet,(had squirreled away for GOW Ragnarok as a treat),but get the feeling it & Until Dawn just benefit a bit more with a longer play time where you get a vibe of characters (& in Until Dawn's case at least),even get surprised at how your opinion could change on a couple & clues to the backstory in between the tension of what's around the corner.

Re: 20 More PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available Now on PS5, PS4

Robocod

@Milktastrophe But why then create the Deluxe tier in non PS Now regions if they had zero intent of expanding the classics library with natively downloadable/emulated games?

As it currently stands,it's a tier being charged for without games being provided for it. Despite numerous posts on the blog & elsewhere, they continue to maintain silence...much like the early promises of expanding the streaming service or even ntsc/PAL region downloads of ps1 games!

Despite the "Premium/Deluxe" product branding ,its just coming across as a cheap effort they don't have their heart (nevermind resources), thrown into. (Extra clearly being their focus).

Re: PS Plus Black Friday Deals Begin This Week

Robocod

Unfortunately unlike past years its unlikely we'll be able to buy 12 month subscriptions at a discount.
Not sure how it is now,but in the past you couldn't add to an existing subscription in these sales unless you added extra details like credit card details for some strange reason!😕🤔

Re: 20 More PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available Now on PS5, PS4

Robocod

@LifeGirl The argument "it doesn't cost much over extra" doesn't pass the pub test though considering it was marketed on there being a library of psp,ps1/ps2 games & streaming (where available) PS3 titles.

To date, there's been an underwhelming few psp/ps1 titles added,(& emulation lacklustre even for ps5),& zero "new" ps2 additions since the long defunct ps2 classics on ps4....instead of putting resources into getting ps2 versions of the Sly Cooper & Ratchet & Clank series playable on ps4/5 or porting the HD PS3 titles they only made them available to the few regions that had PS Now streaming.

This is even more apparent for those of us in the PS Deluxe regions where there is no streaming. Essential costs $80/yr here,$140 for Deluxe... the blog updates completely ignore Deluxe territories & its been months since the last psp/ps1 titles even appeared.

They're charging for a tier that isn't adding the library of games for Deluxe regions,& seem to be overly relying on streaming to cover their lack of effort providing psp/ps1/ps2 content. If Premium was merely a marketing rebadge of PS Now, then they should've been upfront about it & scrap the Deluxe tier.

Re: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration (PS5) - A Warts and All Celebration of an Industry Icon

Robocod

@CVCubbington Yep,a Commodore collection would be grand! Though given the original CBM didn't publish much beyond International Soccer, & a couple or so others, like the Amiga it's lot of hunting down who has what IP rights.🤔

Not impossible,there were those C64 mini/maxis but,(& A500 mini),but yep would be great!
Only thing would be where to start! Early era US C64 classics ala Impossible Mission, the Epyx sports "Games",early Activision ala Pitfall, Ghostbusters,Park Patrol,HERO etc.,the Leader board golf ones,Cinemaware ones like Defender of the Crown etc.,& all the disk based RPG titles?

Then there's the EU/UK scene where the C64 remained strong up to the early 90's! Earlier stuff ala Sensible Software's Wizball,Dropzone, International Karate,Way of the Exploding Fist, the Ocean catalogue of arcade & licensed games, Bubble Bobble,Bionic Commando etc.,from Software Creations/US Gold...then labels ala System 3 & Thalamus with their classics! And that's not mentioning Manfred Trenz's Turrican, Turrican 2 (sadly not part of the Anthology collection),Katakis & more!

Re: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration (PS5) - A Warts and All Celebration of an Industry Icon

Robocod

@get2sammyb As you noted, licensing issues are such a shame as far as post 1983 Atari games, & ones like Star Wars etc...not to mention the early Activision era Atari console games too ala Pitfall etc.
Ditto much like the Amiga, the 16bit Atari era though seeing numerous releases again features a lot of 3rd party IP's that've been in legal limbo or numerous ownerships who knows who owns what now.
That said,Digital Eclipse put in the sort of effort you only wish Playstation would take the same attention to detail on with the PSP/PS1/PS2 Classics!

Re: Hogwarts Legacy Looks Like Another Magical PS5, PS4 Open World

Robocod

I might be mistaken, but has most of the footage to date been PS5? Obviously will be better visuals marketing wise, but I remember when the first Middle Earth game rolled out on the then relatively new PS4 & the gameplay was clearly a better game vs it's forgotten ps3 port.

Will be curious how the ps4 version stacks up. 🤔

Re: Iconic Batman Voice Actor Kevin Conroy Has Passed Away

Robocod

Old enough to have seen repeats of other older Batman adaptions, but was still young enough to enjoy the Animated Series...
Far from the first, but as I posted online...
"I am Vengeance. I am the Night...I AM BATMAN!"
Indeed you were, are & always will be the definitive Batman,Kevin Conroy & we thank you. RIP. 😔😥

Re: PS Plus Premium's Promised PC Streaming Still Missing in Parts of Europe

Robocod

Well, they promised they would expand PS Premium to more territories "in the coming months",& haven't either!
Or significantly add to the psp,ps1 or PS2 Classics offered...if you're in a PS Deluxe region, the blog ignores you even exist!😑

Then there was the promise to offer NTSC or PAL Classic game download choice!....whilst our broadband internet is notoriously sub par down under, apparently XB Cloud streaming is working alright....it just seems like sadly PS Management's heart clearly isn't in supporting the Premium & especially Deluxe regions with Classic content.

Maybe one day someone could point out to Jim Ryan that the giant potential library of classics is precisely the kind of selling point to gain more top tier subs, rather than losing them!
And those ps3 server blades they're relying on won't last forever either!

Re: PS Plus Premium Members Bemused by Sony Once Again

Robocod

@get2sammyb PS Premium customers have been getting a raw deal, anyone that has been in a Deluxe region has been sold a lemon from day one! The additions of psp/ps1 titles have been few & underwhelming, poor performance & broken promises of NTSC/PAL versions access.

Meantime there's been zero PS2 game library additions since the defunct PS2 Classics on PS4 range,& several of those titles apparently can't run for those upgrading to ps5!🙄

Rather than pour resources into fully functional ps1 & ps2 software based emulations to allow all PS Regions enjoy the likes of the Sly Cooper & Ratchet & Clank anniversaries,Sony instead have relied on a rebranded PS Now service to cover its "retro" classics range at the expense of it being streaming only & limited availability.

Much like the disappointing line-up of games on the ps1 mini (using a 3rd party emulator),its been a continual case of a service advertising a retro tier but in reality done on the cheap...Jim Ryan has been on record defending backwards compatibility of older generations being a cost vs profit/popularity issue, yet Sony has refused to make a decent effort,(esp. on his watch),so how can they say it isn't popular?😑

They can find resources for a Last of Us ps5 remaster,(good though it might be),but remasters of even the PS3 Sly Cooper & Ratchet compilations of the PS2 games seem to fall into the too hard/not profitable basket....if they can afford a mobile phone studio you'd think they could resource a retro studio or two to focus on bringing genuine ps classics back to life on modern generations.

Re: Mini Review: Return to Monkey Island (PS5) - Original Creators Return to Beloved Point and Click

Robocod

@SystemAddict @sanderson72 Yep,it'd be nice if games media outlets asked the normally vocal Devolver Digital PR/Socials why they're so silent on the subject of PS4,(& XB one to be fair),versions for a game that obviously was designed to be Switch Friendly by Terrible Toybox...they're a small team,so if they need to do versions separately fine, but they've absolutely ghosted any posts on twitter even confirming if a ps4 version is planned!🤔

@SystemAddict Yep,loved that option in the MI Special Editions! Shame they never got ported to ps4...oh well,at least the GOG versions usually go on sale & can run on old PC'S like I did have up until recently. Not to mention my older CD copies I converted to play on ScummVM!

Re: God of War Ragnarok: Is It Good on PS4?

Robocod

@ShogunRok My only concern this doesn't wear out my old PS4 given the main replacement option would be a pricier PS5!! Still have memories of how both myself & my oldest buddy's ps2's died at the same time shortly after getting GTA San Andreas, another hardware pusher at the time!!😱
In that case PS2's had dropped a bit in price thankfully...unlike a pricier ps5 replacement nowadays & no cheap ps4's apart from second hand ones my neck of the woods afaik!

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Still Hoping for a PS5 Patch

Robocod

@Acurisur Thx for the reply!👍 What little I'd heard of later patches related to the Switch performance, so was curious about ps4🤔....do own the "ps2 classics" versions which were the older mobile versions, but if I found a cheap physical or something might dip my toe in if only for future ps5 compatibility....still annoys about the soundtracks but meh,its Take-two, nothing new there!

Re: Rumour: Diablo 4 Unleashes Hell in April 2023

Robocod

@ppitchfork As others have noted,if whatever contracts have been signed for various store fronts it "should" release & not be like say Starfield which was probably being led on PC with XB/PS5 far enough behind that Microsoft could cancel it without legal repercussions. (Though Bethesda had talked up prior to the sale announcement their keeness in incorporating Dualsense into their ps5 titles).

But already seen another Gamer Phil interview talking up bringing Warcraft & Starcraft to XB,so sadly you can bet possible future iterations of Crash,Spyro or resurrected IP's ala Tony Hawk,Gun,or even Pitfall etc.,would be exclusives to Gamepass/ XB/PC...& the gamer dude bots & press applaud the monopoly arms race as a "win" for gamers!🙄😑

Re: PS Plus Premium Gets Five Ratchet & Clank Games on 15th November

Robocod

@nessisonett Yep,Sony seem to be as sadly deliberately silent on the lack of content on PS Deluxe as they are of acknowledging all the territories still stuck with it when they post to the blog on the rare premium updates...just sad that rather than live up to the promise of opening up the back catalogue of classics they've taken the cheap ps1 mini type approach for Jim Ryan to keep justifying its "not popular" when he's continually put in minimal effort/resources!😑

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Getting PS5 Version, Identical to PS4

Robocod

@CRASH64 Oh yes, didn't add it in my original post but well aware Monsterboy was done by Game Atelier & different publisher in FDG.

Just seemed a bit surprising/ironic about Dotemu's approach to PS5 games effectively being unimproved over their ps4 versions. As others have speculated seems a cheap way to give them ps5 visibility, but if so a bit cheeky if there's no crossbuy & the only upgrade is effectively separate trophies.

Though I do recall hints on twitter from Game Atelier their Monsterboy update might’ve been related to the rumoured Switch Pro/2.0...(& obvs. delayed/under NDA if so),they quietly went about implementing it onto PS5/XB too which deserves credit where its due.
Like I said, loved Dragon's trap & indeed Streets of Rage, not Lizardcube's call...but its a bit odd Dotemu taking this route.

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Getting PS5 Version, Identical to PS4

Robocod

@Rob_230 Unfortunately DotEmu played similar tactics with the otherwise outstanding Lizardcube Wonderboy Dragons Trap remake getting a stealth ps5 release recently & apparently "nearly identical" but no crossbuy option/future upgrade for ps4 owners too.
Given Monsterboy & the Cursed Kingdom managed a free upgrade & apparently added 120hz support for compatible TV's etc.,its disappointing.

Re: PS Plus Premium Gets Five Ratchet & Clank Games on 15th November

Robocod

@nessisonett Even more apparent if you're in a PS Deluxe Territory where there isn't any streaming! First Sly Cooper, now Ratchet?

Not only has there been zero "new" PS2 Classics added since the short lived PS2 Classics on PS4 range, but apart from the Jak series,if I'm not mistaken aren't most of the other ps2 classics incompatible or "run with glitches" on ps5?🤔
(Own a few on ps4 but yet to upgrade)

We've seen minimal PS1 content,(& running on a seemingly average emulator),whilst they've seemingly made no attempt to update or create a new ps2 emulator....yet they charge it at the highest tier! (Deluxe is about $140 just $20 shy of double the price of Essential).

On one hand they have the resources for Uncharted & even Sackboy PC Ports or Mobile devices studios,,but PS1 & PS2 Classics emulated classics nevermind ports of HD PS3 remasters are put in the too hard/expensive basket by Mr Ryan & Mr Hulst.🙄😑

Re: God of War Ragnarok Is Now Sony's Highest Rated PS5 Game

Robocod

Highest rated ps5 game...unless you live in alternate dimension Bizarro world Eurogamer who could only manage a "recommended"...but you could virtually guarantee if it were a Switch or Gamepass exclusive would've gotten an essential without even installing it!🙄😅
Anyway, nice to see Sony Santa Monica haven't lost their touch,& what secret project they're working alongside this given Corey wasn't creative director this time around.

Re: Return to Monkey Island Lands a PS5 Version Next Week

Robocod

@nessisonett Odd...no streaming in my neck of the woods, but bought both MI Special Edition ps3 games back in the day & completed them both, (swapping between old school & newer style graphics),just fine!🤔

As for the lack of a ps4 version, of RTMI seems rather bizarre given the Switch version & that there'd still be a decent ps4 audience to sell to.😕

Re: PS Plus Lost Two Million Members in the Last Three Months

Robocod

Whilst the likes of COD,Fortnite,& GTA Online likely still bring some solid online numbers,as might PS Extra,it's a shame the PS Deluxe & Premium tiers remain disappointingly supported.

It just feels like a re-badged PS Now,(unavailable to Deluxe regions,& reliant on streaming only),with an underwhelmingly few additions of PS1/PSP titles & no "new" PS2 additions to date.

Re: Retro 90s Racing Rules Supreme in Top Racer Collection for PS5, PS4

Robocod

@Stevemalkpus No,Magnetic Fields was the dev studio that made the Lotus racing games on Amiga,(& other formats of the era). They made numerous 8bit & 16bit home computer games, though probably most remembered for Lotus despite their previous other hits.
https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=702

Barry Leitch was the composer & also involved in the Top Gear games apparently with remixed music from Lotus. Whilst Gremlin Graphics who were the publisher,(later aka Gremlin Interactive),apparently reused some of the track designs according to wiki of Lotus in Top Gear.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear_(video_game)

Re: Retro 90s Racing Rules Supreme in Top Racer Collection for PS5, PS4

Robocod

@Balosi @purplemoose Played more of the original Lotus on Amiga than the excellent sequel (did play the latter on a buddy's ST though), good times!👍
Quick google says these weren't done by Magnetic Fields, but borrowed remixed music & graphically similar by Lotus publisher Gremlin apparently.🤔

Reminds me how the Switch got an Outrun game but alas PS Owners haven't seen anything since what,Outrun 2006? Agree I'd love to see the Lotus series but guessing licensing would make it unlikely.

Re: As Long As There's PlayStation, Call of Duty Will Release on It

Robocod

Amazing how it went from Satya's "Let there be competion!!", to good cop "Gamer" Phil insisting so long as there's Playstations out there,we'll keep releasing COD!",when there's scrutiny being applied!
Just watch out for the asterix of "As soon as we get the chance, we'll lock it in on Gamepass & undercut the PS market!", not to mention "Forget Diablo,Crash,Spyro etc.,all the other IP's are exclusives!!"

Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Proven Very Unpopular on PC

Robocod

Crowded period to launch in...albeit I still wonder how something like a Little Big Planet 1&2 remaster,(with accompanying PS4/5 versions too), might’ve fared with their level/creation tools. That could've tapped into a modding community & had an audience to build upon.🤔

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Still Hoping for a PS5 Patch

Robocod

@Rob_230 Yep,let's not forget the tight fisted Take-two that shuffled off the classic GTA Trilogy to be "remastered" by the hacks known as Grove Street Games,(& cheapened out on renewing several of the OG music featured in them!😔).
Never did hear if the patches made it mostly playable on ps4!

Nevermind the rumoured stories of the backlash over their lazy efforts reportedly then saw Red Dead Redemption or GTA IV ports get abandoned!🙄
But yep it hurts we're unlikely to see RDR/Undead Nightmare be natively playable on PS platforms.

Re: PS5 Players Don't Want to See 60fps Die Out

Robocod

Whilst in-house first party games with generally optimised engines will try to maintain such options,it gets a bit murkier with 3rd party devs.

Overtime there'll probably be an increasing reliance of whatever equipment to freesync/ Gsync tech that is adapted into Playstation's API's & so if a game engine supports it, it may not be rock solid but it'll at least keep things consistent.

Re: No 'Concrete Plans' for Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake

Robocod

Would I like to see RE code Veronica X get a much deserved polish up even if it meant putting up with Steve again, yep! 😅
That said RE 3 remake needs a remake given all the cuts made to the original...or just give us the PS1 Classics on Deluxe!
If they ever bothered fixing the dumb A.I. of your companion in RE 5,it might actually make playing it in single player mode less of a chore!🤔
Otherwise it & RE6 can stay buried where the E.T. cartridges were buried!😅

Re: Microsoft Claims That Insomniac Developed Marvel's Wolverine Will Launch in 2023

Robocod

Can't really see how Wolverine-quite possibly a single player focused game like Spiderman somehow ranks bigger than the online behemoth that is COD,(like it or hate it),& the truckload of other recent past & dormant IP's in Activision Blizzard's closet,(nevermind Zenimax prior to that).
They apparently turned down the opportunity to do Spiderman before Insomniac/Sony took it up & aren't Bethesda now doing an Indiana Jones game? So how is Wolverine apparently bigger than all their billion dollar buyouts hoarding previously 3rd party games?🤔🙄

Re: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Remake Announced as a Console Exclusive

Robocod

@BrainHacker "While paying up a third party developers to block a multiplatform game to another console is just moneyhatting".

Stalker 2,Scorn,Death's Door,Carrion,Rogue Legacy 2 are just a few examples of timed exclusives on both XB/Gamepass which saw later or planned later releases as part of a XB deal. Timed exclusives happen...you're the one saying Sony is alone in preventing games appearing on other platforms.
Starfield was coming to PS5 until Microsoft bought up Zenimax & despite months of "gaming for all!",rhetoric Phil Spencer showed their true intents & kept it exclusive.

Microsoft despite all its prior purchases is still so bereft of either confidence or creativity that they have to keep buying up 3rd party AAA publishers & horde those IP's & keep them off competing platforms instead. Maybe you should take your own advice?
Enjoy your day & clearly your platform preference.

Re: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Remake Announced as a Console Exclusive

Robocod

@BrainHacker Which Microsoft has done on numerous occasions with Indie Gamepass titles holding off other versions,& rather forgetting when XB "money hatted" COD dlc during the 360 era,GTA IV DLC for a year etc.,nevermind Tomb Raider during the ps4 era despite Phil Spencer's claiming timed exclusives were anti-gamer.

If you can't tell the difference between timed exclusives & Phil Spencer's permanently hoarding 3rd parties using Dad's credit card so noone else can enjoy them or that Gamepass deals just as much "moneyhats" timed exclusives, there really isn't much helping you.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Over 100GB on PS4, But 20GB Smaller on PS5

Robocod

Don't know if things have changed much on ps5, but wish there was a more modular approach to things like language installation on ps4 as despite being an English speaking country, down under has always be linked to the EU PSN so we'll get the bigger install!
Oh well, though big much like HZD,unlike stuff like RDR 2 or GTA V,at least it won't have online bloatware so hopefully by the time the patches are sorted out it will only add an extra 15-20gb. 🤞
Edit: Wrong GTA Entry...d'oh!😅

Re: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Remake Announced as a Console Exclusive

Robocod

Still struggling to see how a timed Playstatiin exclusive somehow outweighs when Microsoft are not only doing the same,(Stalker,Scorn, Death's Door,Carrion in the past etc.),vs permanently buying up AAA publishers just to deny established 3rd parties & new releases from numerous studios as part of those groups appearing on any other platforms bar XB/PC & Gamepass services.🙄
Do I enjoy timed exclusives, not exactly, seen plenty happen on Switch too & noone bats an eyelid,(Return to Monkey Island?),but the XB narrative that Sony's timed exclusives are worse than Zenimax/Activision Blizzard buyouts are ridiculous!

Re: Red Dead Redemption No Longer Playable on PS5, PS4 in a Troubling Sign of the Times

Robocod

Its a pity instead of splashing out on timed exclusive dlc for RDR Online, that Sony didn't help fund a ps4/5 remaster or remake! 😕
But then again could say the same for the likes of several in-house ps3 games ala LBP 1&2, LBP Karting,Sly Cooper HD Trilogy, the early Ratchet ps3 games etc.
I'd love to play RDR/Undead Nightmare on ps4/5, but not if it got the cash grab abysmal treatment of the GTA Trilogy "Definitive edition" remaster lacking so many of the iconic songs & essentially a remastered mobile port.
Not to mention far better efforts than the disused ps2 classics emulation that has yet to see any new ps2 classics on PS Deluxe,& an underwhelming ps1 emulation thus far.
