@OldGamer999 they could call it a sock and people would still buy it. Their handhelds always (apart from virtual boy) perform well. It was a brilliant move to make the switch hybrid.
You argued that Wii sold well because it had Mario Kart, Zelda etc. I counter argued that those games weren't enough to help WiiU, N64 or Gamecube take off. It was games like WiiSports, WiiPlay, WiiFit. Games that (unlike CoD, Fifa) were not huge IPs when they came out.
I also provided the example of (mobile/cell) phones. They didn't used to cost that much, but iphones became a cool item to have, prices skyrocketed without affecting sales. In other words, the price doesn't matter when the product is perceived as a must have.
@lindos come to think of it, if you told anyone like a decade ago that people would buy 1500 USD phones, they'd find it just as unlikely. Price is not the issue. If it were popular, people would still buy it. But I get why it's still niche and Sony is a big part of the reason.
@Contimaloris throughout her political career, she has received more than 100 million votes. The reaction so far has been very positive, as opposed to Teresa May, Lizz Truss or Rishi Sunak in the UK. I think most Democrats are more than happy with her as their candidate.
@Flaming_Kaiser actually, we don't know what Cleopatra looked like. So both black and white works. Even in academia there is no consensus. But I agree about Martin Luther King.
@GigaFlare strongly disagree. No one asked Greeks how they felt about Odyssey nor should they. It's a video game and they can take as many liberties as they want. The offended people can simply skip it. But that would mean focusing on actual problems they have over something like this.
@Savage_Joe China may be second, but how many ps5 consoles have been sold there? That's why context is important. And we all know that Japanese gamers have been interested only in Switch/Nintendo games for quite a while now.
@Gaia093 or! the vitriol of a few leads to the apathy of the many. It has happened countless times so far. With psvita, PSVR1+2 and many games. If you keep reading bad things about something (e.g. xb1), it's unlikely that you'll give it a shot.
@Enuo they don't need to prove anything to anyone. Of course they want every game to be a success; otherwise they wouldn't green light it in the first place.
@Ainu20 are they currently losing money on each console sold? If so, how much exactly? I'd be very interested in reading a source. Because that was the case consistently with ps3 and they never increased the price, like they did with ps5, no matter how the Yen was performing.
@get2sammyb yeah, I get that, but considering how first party games get tiny price cuts now and how they used to lose quite a bit on each console (remember ps3? I think there were times they were losing $200 on each console sold at a certain time), this new approach gives me the impression they're too focused on making a profit that they forget the bigger picture.
@get2sammyb in the previous generations they were happy to take a hit so that they can reach more customers (and make a profit from software sales). This generations they've adopted a Nintendo strategy, which is quite disappointing.
@BeerIsAwesome "People are fine with regency era characters in British dramas being played by people of colour, so I think it's more like a "pick your battles" scenario."
Are they? Because internet comments/rage would suggest otherwise.
"at this point just delete your nasty money grabbing game because you put NO effort when it comes to ACTUAL correct representation 💀💀 #BOYCOTTHYV #GenshinImpact"
At this point, just stop playing the game. There. Problem solved.
@Zriggin1 !"Microsoft is giving us a new Doom game....Sony is giving us...this monstrosity....I think this really shows how lacking Sony first party quality is when it comes to anything that isn't an over the shoulder walking dad simulator"
You make a strong point here. You should ask Sony to spend 69 billion USD to buy a publisher so that they can "make" a game like Doom.
@Godot25 who said that? Seriously. The argument is against people who haven't even played it and are actively hating on it, not anyone who gave it a try and for whatever reason didn't enjoy it.
If I had even a tiny interest in watching these "olympics", it'd now be completely gone. Not that this will change anything. Most people have no moral compass so they'll be more than fine.

Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers
@PsBoxSwitchOwner then why did WiiU not sell well?
Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers
@PsBoxSwitchOwner it's ok. I'll try again.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner so did the Wiiu (Gamecube and n64, right?).

Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Wii proved otherwise.
Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers
@mrbone for your parents, I'd highly recommend Puzzling Places.
For anyone else, Beat the Beats, Beat Saber, and Pistol Whip. They're three of the most fun games I've ever played.
Re: Random: US Vice President Kamala Harris Potentially Linked to Shadowy Federal Bureau of Control
@starbuck2212 sure, buddy.
Re: Concord's Seemingly Unlimited Promo Budget Now Includes Animated Shorts
@Frmknst For one thing, because Naughty Dog don't want to focus on supporting one game. They prefer making several single player games.
Re: Random: U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris Potentially Linked to Shadowy Federal Bureau of Control
@LN78 haha. Well said. Don't forget nuking hurricanes to stop them.
Re: Dragon Quest Creator Says Silent Protagonists Look Like Idiots
Yes! I've always hated that.

@Deljo not sure if serious...
Re: Ubisoft Responds to Assassin's Creed Shadows Criticism, Apologises to Japanese Players
@GigaFlare why would I? They can be offended all they like, just like I was not offended when I played Odyssey.

@CielloArc "The same people defending Ubisoft are the ones complaining about MiHoYo"
Wow. I didn't know I was complaining abouy MiHoYo. In fact, I need to look up MiHoYo to know what I should be complaining about.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Prince of Persia, Cyberpunk Jump Back into Top 10
@trev666 digital games or digital purchases? Because there is a huge difference if it also includes microtransactions.
Also, a link would be appreciated.
Re: You'll Need to Clear Everything to Get PS1 Classic Tomba!'s Platinum on PS5, PS4
@Markatron84 In all seriousness, fair enough. How far along did you get?
Re: UK Sales Charts: Prince of Persia, Cyberpunk Jump Back into Top 10
@trev666 I don't think we're there yet. Unless you have a source that most games sell 66% digital, 34% physical.
Re: You'll Need to Clear Everything to Get PS1 Classic Tomba!'s Platinum on PS5, PS4
@Markatron84 nooooope. The game is legendary. Also brilliant.
Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC
@MFTWrecks no it doesn't. I mentioned several examples that show otherwise.
Quality =/= sales
Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC
@MFTWrecks my point was good games don't always attract a large enough audience. Never discussed budget or anything like that.
Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC
@MFTWrecks so all the games, like Gravity Rush 2, Tearaway, Concrete Genie, Sackboy's Big Adventure weren't good?
Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC
@Gaia093 couldn't be further from the truth, but ok. If that's what you believe, then by all means.

Re: Over 4,500 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Sizzling Summer Sale
@CaptD oh, man. I think I bought that for over 10 quid a few months ago, though never got around playing it.
Re: Over 4,500 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Sizzling Summer Sale
@CaptD cheers for the tip. Just bought it, too.
Re: Over 4,500 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Sizzling Summer Sale
@Haggis555 "massive sale with over 4500 games it should have said"
Massive would be redundant then. It'd be like saying "a tall 6' 3" man".
Re: Genshin Impact Fan Frustration Boils Over As Backlash Goes Viral
@BeerIsAwesome exactly
Re: Genshin Impact Fan Frustration Boils Over As Backlash Goes Viral
@Olmaz they don't necessarily reflect real life, but to say that no one has issues with that is contrary to reality.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zenless Zone Zero?
@EfYI that's fair.

@Lup yes, because all the first party games are defended by push square staff and people commenting here.
R.I.P., facts.

@DennisReynolds I see this argument all the time, yet plenty of first party games haven't received good scores here. It's like selective memory.

Re: Forgotten PS2 Launch RPG Summoner Resurrected for PS5, PS4
@WiiWareWave see I don't mind games like Super Mario Bros (2 or 3), but games from the ps1 and ps2 generations look really ugly to me.
