@QBGaming12 I was just responding to the part that it's never received a discount. Apparently it has, though I'm also hoping for a bigger price cut. I like the anime and look forward to playing the game one day either on ps+ or when it's cheap enough
@thefourfoldroot1 I just hope they don't discourage (us) the few owners from buying new PSVR2 games. So far, I have bought all the ones that have been available on plus.
@Danbottomburp more importantly, many of them fail to realize that their ideal or a merely good list would be considered "garbage" by someone else. You really can't please everyone, especially when you run a business and want to remain profitable.
@Shinnok789 "And Sony apparently is not the same company we knew back then, it's current ruling body is too busy making blunder after blunder, and doesn't give a crap about what it's clients want"
Though I don't like the direction they've taken the last couple of years (i.e. no Concrete Genie type of games), they most certainly do. They just don't listen to enthusiasts, because hardly anyone was talking about Helldivers II and yet it proved to be one of the biggest success stories of the year. Almost no one talked about Sea of Thieves, yet it topped psn sales in Europe and the US.
There is clearly an appetite for online multiplayer games and GaS. That's what the average consumer wants. Not the games people rave about in forums.
It breaks my heart to see wonderful developers suffering like that, despite delivering great games. And I feel twice as guilty for not buying Armello when it was on sale.
I keep saying it. Sony is a business. The vocal minority can cry about things all they want. If the sales are not strong enough, there won't be a sequel/remaster etc.
You have people buying games second hand, waiting to get them for free (i.e. at no additional cost) on ps plus, etc and yet they wonder why the games they like aren't being made.
@Godot25 Yeah, not really. Starfield is still an exclusive and hardly anyone is asking for a ps5 port. When it's eventually released on ps5, it won't be the second coming of Jesus.
Hi-Fi Rush was released on ps5 and didn't make the top20.
@Czar_Khastik "On the other hand, my backlog is so large that if the gaming industry stopped creating games today I would have enough things to play for the rest of my life".
Same here, man. I have hundreds of games that I'm genuinely interested in and, even though I know that there is no way I'll get the time to play them all, I still feel like supporting some new releases. But, like you, I wait for a sale, since I can't afford them day 1.
Plenty of great games failed, so I agree with you, Sammy.
Sackboy should have been a success Ratchet & Clank should have sold a ton of copies Tearaway should have won every award and sold millions of copies.
And the list goes on. At the end of the day, though, most people buy the same games. The loud minority likes to complain but they hardly ever put their money where their mouth is. There is no pleasing them. They'd lose their entire identity.
@Gamer83 Realistically, what can Sony do at the moment, considering how long it takes to make a good game? I'm genuinely curious how you think competition works.
Sony is not sitting on their butt doing nothing. They're making excellent games that take time or they're cancelling games (like Factions 2) when they don't look promising. They can't rush things, if they want to keep releasing quality games.
Competition from MS and Nintendo doesn't magically change anything. Sure, they may be forced to show CGI trailers to appease fans, but it's not like their games are gonna come out sooner.
Unless I'm missing something (which is always a possibility).
@awp69 you spoke of 18 first party games, so "whatever" indeed. Also, you may wanna keep in mind how few xb games have been released since the current generation started as opposed to ps games. Had Sony followed MS' failed strategy, they would have had more games to show at the moment.
@LikelySatan If it really takes that long, I'm sure they will adjust it soon enough. Last time I played it, I unlocked several characters pretty quickly even though people online were complaining about it.
@LifeGirl Do we know if Japanese developers are fairly compensated? For example, things cost less in China to be made but that's because the people who make them don't earn much at all and are taken advantage of (or that used to be the case; I've heard that things are getting better)
@get2sammyb but it's not indicative of the average gamer who enjoys games instead of constantly complaining online. Even Spider-man 2, the game that got the game of the year award here last year is constantly bashed for being from mediocre to terrible.
@SoulChimera entitlement. That's all there is to it. And the more they succeed with boycotts like they did with Helldivers II, the more entitled they get. Same with ps+
@DennisReynolds literally not a figure of speech. Also, nice assumption, but I haven't even played the game nor am I a huge fan of the franchise. But you know what they say that happens when you assume.

@breakneck they're just estimates, though. They constantly adjust their numbers because they constantly extrapolate based on very limited sources.

@QBGaming12 not according to psprices

Re: Embracer Group Reportedly Closes Alone in the Dark Developer Pieces Interactive
@djlardI "isn't that sign people simply have enough of unfinished games on release???"
Not when most games have serious issues at launch yet so many sell incredibly well. Had there been enough interest in the IP, it would have sold well.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2024?
@gpimlott never said the opposite. Didn't even say that I, personally, consider it a good month As a matter of fact, my point was vastly different.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2024?
@Danbottomburp hahaha. Exactly!

@Darude84 and they're free to reply to your post. See how that works?

So that's where the creator's of God of War (ps4) got their inspiration from for Mimir. Interesting!

@trev666 gotta love generalizations.
Re: PS5 Exclusive Rise of the Ronin Is Koei Tecmo's Best-Selling Game
@Specky that's because we know that quality is subjective. I had the most fun with some games that are considered mediocre, but were awesome to play.

Re: Reaction: You Said You Were Sick of PS5's Sad Dad Sims, So You Better Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
@Czar_Khastik great plan (the second one). They will fail to sell well enough and then we'll get more of the same.

@Icey664 no need. Here's the post I was replying to:
"after all, it was the only source of good games announced this year for PS5"
Re: These Are All the Games from the Xbox Showcase Confirmed for PS5
@MaikonCSGarcia nah. Plenty of great games, like Astrobot, announced.

@awp69 no it isn't awful at all. Never disagreed with any of that. I specifically replied to each individual point you made, if you read closely.

Re: PS5 Fans Beg Sony for a More Fulfilling Livestream in the Aftermath of Xbox Show
@awp69 you mean they should buy a couple of publishers so that they can show off 18 first party games?
Are we throwing realism out of the window?
Re: PS5 Fans Beg Sony for a More Fulfilling Livestream in the Aftermath of Xbox Show
We want Sony to pay to show off third party games? Sure, sure. Sounds like money well spent.
Re: PlayStation Fans Are Losing Their Heads Over an Iffy Portable PS4 Rumour
It'd be amazing, but until we get official confirmation, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Game seems fantastic. Sadly, not my cup of tea.

Re: Deals: PS5 Consoles, PSVR2, Games and Accessories Reduced in Sony's Days of Play Sale
@BrettAwesome yes, a lot of indies, but they're really awesome and perfect for PSVR2.
Red Matter 2 is excellent, according to many people who post here and always sings its praises
Arizona Sunshine II is supposed to be great
Tetris Effect Connected is surprisingly euphoric
and many more that I've already purchased (I've only been buying PSVR2 games for the last year), so I can't see their current price.

Let's be real for a second.
Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins
@SoulChimera entitlement. That's all there is to it. And the more they succeed with boycotts like they did with Helldivers II, the more entitled they get. Same with ps+
Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins
@The_Elder it's always the case when they talk about God Of War on PC from I've what I've seen.
Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins
@Savage_Joe do you have any sources that it's 60% of the market? If it's true, then it really is a big deal.
Re: Marvel Rivals Officially Confirmed for PS5, Closed Beta Test in July
One of the few Marvel games I won't play. They could have done so much more, but alas. Hope it turns out good for those interested in it.

Yes, please! Can't wait to give it a try.

@DennisReynolds hate to be this way, but that's definitely not a "fact".
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Swings 11 Million Sales as Sony Calls PS5 Exclusive a 'Great Success'
@Atreus97 my thoughts exactly. Same with Ragnarok and pretty much anything other than Stellar Blade or Helldivers 2 it seems.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Swings 11 Million Sales as Sony Calls PS5 Exclusive a 'Great Success'
@Frmknst it's not like it's gonna stop selling tomorrow. So, it's a great success considering how much it's sold so far.
Re: Deals: PS5 Consoles, PSVR2, Games and Accessories Reduced in Sony's Days of Play Sale
@BrettAwesome have you checked out the sales on PS store? Plenty of discounts to be found.
