Have they released them in a list, b/c it looks like about 6 versions each of 30 characters. 😂
I mean, I know that’s what DB is, I’m a fan from way back, but “182 characters” seems like a bit of a stretch. I was joking about the 6x30 (b/c the math was easy) but what’s the actual character count? I’ll even give you DB kid Goku is different than adult Goku going forward, but I’d still say the character count can’t be much more than 80 w/ skins. Not that Smash doesn’t do the same with its 5 Links. Just wondering.
I guess when I replied to that sale article yesterday about buying “Castle Crashers” and “Knights and Bikes” I should have saved it for this sale.🤷🏻♂️
Just skimmed the review, waiting to play it tonight. Did the review mention you can sign up for PS+ Extra for $15US and play it if $30 seems to much for 8-10 hour game. Seems like too much to me so that’s what I did.🤪
Oh and they tweeted out it was 8-10 hours about a week ago, so it’s probably around that.
Got rid of all of those Star Ocean games this month and DQ next month and it doesn’t seem like they’ve been adding a lot of JRPG to replace them. At least not that I can recall having just signed up for Extra 2 weeks ago.
Guess this is Sony’s way of celebrating the 1 year anniversary of that $35 Extra price hike from $100 to $135. 🤑
I played this for a few hours over a few days when it first released. It's just Minecraft. Ok it's Minecraft w/ Lego. I mean sure it's nice to be able to play Minecraft in Lego form for free, but it's just Minecraft.
Just watched the vid. Looks more colorful but still just Minecraft. I'd play Lego Battle Royale if I could, shooting people and watching them break into little pieces would be fun.
I thought I was the only person who checked accounts for when they were created. At least the 1 other person who liked the game has had their account since last September 2023, but I don't think I've ever checked an account and just had it say "7:49AM". Though it is Australia so that might be yesterday, or tomorrow. 🤷♂️
Is the person who wrote the review in here? The best thing to me about the Lego games was the couch co-op. I'm assuming this game doesn't have couch, but does it have online? If it doesn't have any co-op that's still a thing I think I'd mention in my review of a game that I compare several times to the Lego games. I mean if I was writing a review of a game and constantly comparing it to Halo and Destiny I think at some point I'd at least say "single player only".
Wanted to get this to play w/ my spouse but the lack of co-op did it in. That's been happening to me a lot lately, games that I'd expect to have co-op, this, Astro Bot, Mario & Luigi Brothership, just don't. Wish Lego Horizon would get dated already.
Thanks for all the people giving this a 7 in the comments, I get the impression the person who wrote the review already wasn't a fan of Funko. Sure they're ugly, but that's the point. The black eyes are kinda soulless, glad my Balrog has yellow-orange.
@wiiware So another person who I agree w/ me that POP was good and AC was bad. Glad I'm not the only one comparing the 2.
@MFTWrecks I didn't know they were making a Watch Dogs movie and I never played the games but I can see an Enemy of the State type movie working, that was pretty good. My mind went straight to "Mr. Robot", which was great early on before it got way weird. I'm expecting to watch this someday comparing it non-stop to Mr. Robot. If it's lucky.
@jrt87 That AC movie was really bad. And it was basically a straight-to-video remake of "PoP: Sands of Time" which I really enjoyed, so you can make a decent movie from a game. Probably much easier to make a bad movie though. 😂
Very happy to see all of the 8, 9 and 10s, sometimes games review really well but then the masses get a hold of it and things drop down to 6s and 7s.
Weird how I keep reading in the comments about people giving it low scores but my "Results" button doesn't show a single score under a 6, which is really impressive.
Haven't played it yet, can't justify $60 for a 10 hour game when Plucky Squire comes out next week for $30, which I'll be playing for only $15 on PS+ Extra, but glad to have something to look forward to.
I think I'm done. It took me too long to reach level 36 to finish the main story in chapter 3, of which I still have the last section to do, but then I just think I'm done.
I was really interested in the Fairy storyline as 1 of 4 super powerful AI but after that initial reveal they never mentioned it again. I'm guessing they'll mention them again after I 100% the game, according to my PS5, but too little too late for me now.
Not all the games fault, I recently quit Disney Speedstorm and have been playing less Fortnite. I might just need a break from gaming for awhile. Well this waste of time type gaming, still plenty of real games to play.
@get2sammyb @ShogunRok Isn't it your jobs as PS writers to spin this as the Japanese were waiting to buy the oft rumoured PS5 Pro, as @Sergo said, which is why PS5 sales were low, in addition to the price increase? Of course if PS5 sales jump next week you can spin it as now that the PS5 Pro price was announced they decided not wait and buy PS5s now instead.😁
Which if it turns out to be the case I want a writers credit. 😉
@NEStalgia Only thing you've missed on NL is 3 years of Switch Pro launching followed by 3 years of Switch 2 launching. Spoiler: neither has launched yet. 😂
I've been on Pure a couple of times b/c of Gamepass on PC for my kid, who I bought a 3 month subscription for to have something to do over the summer, but they never redeemed it. 😝
I watched for 8 minutes. That title font is great, best part of the game. Followed by that freaky scary voice lady who was giving me the shivers. But then it all got a little bit too "Summer on Epstein Island" and I had to stop watching. 😎
Did this update spam the full screen Astro Bot ad on my main PS5 screen last night?
I can never tell what any of this stuff means while reading it about, will have to check it out later. I never use "Explore", doubt I'll use "Welcome". I mean if they really wanted to welcome us then bring back "Home".
@NEStalgia "Sony jumped the rails so much they actually jump started Xbox again"
Nintendo Life wrote an article about PS5 Pro this morning as well. My comment was not polite.
"Oh come on man. Nintendo cares less about the PS5 Pro price than Nintendo Life does as this entire article is just an excuse for NL to "get the clicks" on the back on PS5 Pro announcement since after all these years we never got the long promised Switch Pro.
Hey Nintendo Life, did you ever write an apology to your readers for all the articles about Switch Pro you wrote and our time you wasted? Now that sounds like a worthwhile article to read. 😂"
Thanks. I couldn’t make an informed judgement b/c I had never heard of 2/3 of them. 🤷🏻♂️ I only signed up for Plucky Squire and Crisis Core. CC has been worth it to hear him say “Me. GonGaga.” last night.😂
@Americansamurai1 Yeah Cat Quest 3 just released like a month ago, I know I bought it on disc for $30. Tho I only paid $20 b/c I had an expiring $10 reward on Best Buy. Still, I haven't even played it yet. Oh well, the map and stickers are nice.
Basically just waiting for GoW: Ragnaraok, though I suppose it won't be on sale now until after the PS5 Pro launches and people buy it for the extra frame a second.
I'm thinking I should split up my "PS5 Pro article count" into BoF and AoF, "before official announcement" and "after official announcement". I think it's possible in only 23 hours Push Square has had as many articles about the Pro as the 6 months of leaks and rumours leading up to it. 😂
I don't know if Sony needs to make more disc drives but I think this certainly shows they need to make more games for Push Square to write articles about. 😩
FF8 is the only game that I've ever played twice back to back b/c it was that good. And b/c the DRAW system was stupid I went thru about 90% of the game w/ all of my spells at 1 before I realized you actually had to continue to DRAW to get them all maxed out at 99 to be effective. 90% of the game. So I immediately played it again. But I wouldn't have if it wasn't that good.
It's still not as good as 7 though. Though I just watched my kid play thru 7 gearing up for Remaster and Rebirth and WOW there is so much bad w/ 7 it's basically an unplayable game w/ a lot of cool music and Sephiroth. So I bought 8 for them to play but their taking a break after all that 7 before starting it. Hopefully it holds up better than 7, which was my favorite JRPG for about 20 years until Xenoblade Chronicles, which I grudgingly ahs to admit was just better in every way.
But 8 for me was also the right game at the right time. Living w/ my girlfriend, getting engaged, planning our marriage. She watched me play the whole game, twice. Squall is no Cloud but there's only 1 Rhinoa. Whoever the villain is was obviously no Sephiroth b/c no one is.
But however I view all of the FF games music, graphics or characters, Triple Triad is the best minigame I've ever come across in any game. It's the pure simplicity of tic-tac-toe but someone usually wins. Looking forward to seeing what my kid thinks of it.
So FF8 is my 2nd favorite FF after 7, then X (which trust me my kid just replayed that too and X is just 7 w/ voice acting) and the rest don't really matter to me all that much.
@nessisonett Exactly. But the (class) war is over now and we lost. 😥
I know they're you're readers so they pay your bills but anyone defending this probably also has a lot more issues than just defending this @get2sammyb 😩
"I presume people were paid some kind of a decent severance package"
I think this last sentence kind of gives you his mindset, that of an older over privileged white man who probably does not have to drive an Uber when he loses a job b/c he gets a golden parachute to live with. Not survive, live with.
For those of you not living in a 3rd world country like the US has become let me tell you about a little something called "COBRA". No, not the Sylvester Stallone film, the cost of insurance you have to pay after getting let go from your job b/c your bosses don't know how to run a company. America is the only major industrialized nation without some form of single payer universal health care, so most of us with jobs get health insurance through our jobs. And then when you get let go from your job they offer you COBRA, which costs about $400-$700 per month, in addition to whatever other bills you had. Oh, and that's for 1 person, so if you were supporting a family of 4, could be thousands of $. Per month. Every month. 🤑
So is losing your job the end of the world when you may not even get your job back b/c of AI? No it is not. Would this guys world end if we castrated him and made him a eunuch? I mean he could still drive an Uber w/o those body parts right? 🤷♂️
@Kidfunkadelic83 Oops. I think I read both of your comments before replying and I may have confused the answers, so see below.
@code45709 "Super Mario Sunshine"
I liked that game, more than most, and don't recall it being very difficult to get to the end, though I also rarely do anything in games that's an optional "challenge" so if you are talking about any of those "jump on all the squares as they disappear" levels, or "float down a stream and time 5 jumps to get the coins" levels, I usually try them once or twice than bail.
If those levels in this game are blocking progress towards the end I'm going to be very annoyed. Put all the optional time trial challenge stuff in the game you want, it's the dev's game, but I paid for it, let me get to the credits w/o forcing me to have a heart attack.
My concern from earlier w/ Playroom wasn't the difficulty so much as the "gimmick". Most of the gimmicks were fun but the climbing ape was not.
@NEStalgia "Everyone wanted Sony to "win" the console war,"
I'm ok w/ Sony winning the console war, and Nintendo winning the handheld war, but I don't understand the lack of 3rd party options, that has never happened to me before going back to the PS1, Gamecube, Dreamcast, etc, I've always had a couple of 1st party and a couple of 3rd party for when you just have people over. It's been years now and not a single cheap controller, just a bunch of $170 ones.
You know what the USA is like, I'm honestly surprised their hasn't been a class action lawsuit about Sony's monopoly of the controller market. It's not normal.
INCREASE!?!? When are we going to start getting 3rd party controllers with lower prices? Every console ever has had cheaper 3rd party alternatives for that 1 time you need a 2nd or 3rd for company. We already have 4, white, purple, red and black b/c 2 of them, red and purple, were unusable with all of the drift. Normally I'd fix them myself but I don' town a soldering iron. And the battery life is pretty bad as well, bought my first spare for when I needed a recharge.
And now their rising the price? They better be offering free drift repair like Nintneod did w/ the Joycon, I took advantage of that as those drifted as well.
@code45709 "the ||x, square, circle & triangle levels are insanely frustrating and not fun"
Thanks. I knew there had to be something gimmicky in this game I wasn't going to like, that sounds like it. All of those 10/10 scores seemed a bit optimistic to me after booting up Playroom and being unable to climb a wall b/c why would I think to turn the controller left and right?
"Astro Bot PS5 Fans Wonder Where All the Square Enix Characters Are"
I'm guessing... in Squenix games? Maybe Team Asobi didn't want to add them in their game?
I'm guessing Mario and Link and Bowser are Zelda are in the game since we didn't get another article about how there aren't any Nintendo characters in the game. Unless there are but spoilers. 😂
I know the internet is full of nonsense but this is some pretty serious non-sense.
Was looking forward to getting this when I thought it was $50 for some reason, then after like 2 weeks some nice person on here let me know it was $60, then I found it out it was only a 12 -15 hour game, the type I usually borrow from the library for a week, so I've decided to wait. 🤷♂️
The waiting was made easier by Sony deciding this was a good month to put "The Plucky Squire", a $30 game, on $15 per month PS+ Extra, so I signed up for a month of that. So I now have plenty to play while I wait for a holiday sale on Astro Bot. Still need to get the secrets in Playroom as well.
If this was couch co-op like "Sackboy's Adventure" it probably would have been day 1, which reminds me I still have "Cat Quest 3" to play w/ my wife, bought that day 1 on disc for $20 (had $10 credit at Best Buy) about a month ago.
I used to be one of those "$1 per hour" gamers but b/c of inflation I'm now a "$2 per hour" gamer. 🤑
@Decoy_Snake Wipeout and DriveClub feel like a dime a dozen to me, it's kind of sad about MNR though. Everyone compared it unfavorably to Mario Kart, and it wasn't as good, but Nintendo hasn't let us build our own tracks yet, just 2D Mario levels.
I think you two have the best take on what he said. @Th3solution @AdamNovice
Most people seem to be focusing on the IP part:
"we don’t have that much IP that we fostered from the beginning."
but I think he's going w/ the self blame part:
"we don’t have that much IP that we fostered from the beginning."
It's not about their lack of IP, it's about turning their IP into Mario, Sonic, Pac-Mac or even Master Chief. (Halo show wasn't that bad, though the 2 seasons were 2 very different shows.) I don't think he's even talking about IP really, he's talking about household name mascots like Mickey Mouse or Tony the Tiger or even Kool Aid. There are literally characters who only exist in tv commercials that have a much bigger cultural presence than nearly any Sony IP. Astro Bot isn't even a Chia Pet yet. Or a pet rock. Sony has the Playstation brand as their mascot more than any 1 character. And Kratos isn't kid friendly. That's his lament.
@Decoy_Snake Thanks for the list, might have been helpful if the article included something similar. I've been a Sony fan since playing FF7 on PS1 but even I don't know what's a "Sony IP" as opposed to another companies game on a Sony console. 🤷♂️
@Quintumply Thanks. Galaxy is the best 3D Mario game so that's a nice comparison to hear. I can't recall anything as "gimmicky" in Galaxy as moving the controller left and right to climb, even w/ the Wii's motion controls, variety <> gimmicky, but if you're going to compare it to the best I gotta believe you. When my kid wakes up I'll let them know.
@Quintumply Thanks for answering the time question.
I read the review, not worried about spoilers in a platformer, and I’m wondering how many of the different one off play mechanics felt gimmicky? I really like platforming but going back to Playroom I really hate that climbing gyro mechanic, doesn’t feel fluid or natural at all. My wife and I enjoyed It Takes Two but some of the one off I was glad to get rid of. My kid on the other hand hated how you kept learning new stuff only for it to be dropped and never return again, just like this review, and I was getting this for them for their birthday.
My wife and I just watched the trailer. She's already writing the script for the "Honest Trailer", and she's doing a pretty good job. 😂
Looks like Jumanji. Or "Journey to the ... whatever". Still looks better than "Harold and the Purple Crayon". 🙄
Looks like a kids movie. Kids need more movies apparently. I saw Deadpool and Wolverine w/ my wife on Monday, about 10 people in the theater, including a 2-3 year old girl and 4-5 year old boy. Boy seemed into it. Girl just kept asking when it was going to end. (They were sitting directly in front of us, we should have moved.) Guy spent the whole movie on his phone, looked like he was gambling or something. At least he wasn't looking at porn. There were also a couple of kids about 10-12. So by all means, make some kid movies, b/c Deadpool and Wolverine ain't it. 🤬
Agree w/ the other comments that this looks nothing like Minecraft, looks more like Mario or Sonic. Minecraft has a look. A gawd awful "ahh my eyes" look. This isn't that. Like, if they just called it "Jumanji 3" would any of us say, "no that isn't Jumanji, it's Minecraft? 🤷♂️
We will watch it on streaming at some point, I need to know.
Not interested in trying to play any of these in the next 2 weeks, trying to finish up Crisis Core before Plucky Squire releases on the 17th, but does Sony really only announce the new Extra games days before they're added to the service? You'd think they'd want to announce what they are adding when they announce what they're taking away to kind of balance things out.
I mean can you write a better ending to this game’s story than - and for its final few days the game became a suicidal death cult with people just killing themselves for a trophy.
I hope they work that in as a post credit scene in the upcoming tv episode.🤣
Nothing new to add, just kind of blown away that a game that never seemed “broken” or “unplayable” is having the purchase price refunded. Though I suppose a game that requires 10 people online at all times is kind of unplayable but I think bots could have gotten around that.
Anyway remember this, all of you happy this failed thinking it’s the end of “live service” games, it may be the end of paid live service games, but it probably means more free to play games littered with micro transactions. Be careful what you wish for.🤑
Signed up this weekend for a month of PS+ Extra for $15 to play Lego Star Wars, Crisis Core and most importantly Plucky Squire, may also try to find time for Infamous First Light. I may not even bother adding these 3 to my library. 🤷🏻♂️

Re: 13 More Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
@ShogunRok “bottom of the barrel”
Thanks. I couldn’t make an informed judgement b/c I had never heard of 2/3 of them. 🤷🏻♂️ I only signed up for Plucky Squire and Crisis Core. CC has been worth it to hear him say “Me. GonGaga.” last night.😂
Re: 1,700 PS5, PS4 Games Going Cheap in Latest PS Store Sale
@Americansamurai1 Yeah Cat Quest 3 just released like a month ago, I know I bought it on disc for $30. Tho I only paid $20 b/c I had an expiring $10 reward on Best Buy. Still, I haven't even played it yet. Oh well, the map and stickers are nice.
Basically just waiting for GoW: Ragnaraok, though I suppose it won't be on sale now until after the PS5 Pro launches and people buy it for the extra frame a second.
Re: Prospective PS5 Pro Buyers Cause Surge in Disc Drive Sales
I'm thinking I should split up my "PS5 Pro article count" into BoF and AoF, "before official announcement" and "after official announcement". I think it's possible in only 23 hours Push Square has had as many articles about the Pro as the 6 months of leaks and rumours leading up to it. 😂
I don't know if Sony needs to make more disc drives but I think this certainly shows they need to make more games for Push Square to write articles about. 😩
Re: Despite Price Point, Analyst Firm Expects PS5 Pro to Sell Like PS4 Pro
I don’t know about sales but I think Push Square’s plan is to write 700 PS5 Pro articles by 2029, 1 article for every dollar of the $700 price. 🤑
Re: 25 Years Ago, Square Released the Best Final Fantasy Game
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Reckons Axed Game Devs Should Just 'Drive an Uber'
https://www.cobrainsurance.com/kb/how-much-does-cobra-insurance-cost/
So is losing your job the end of the world when you may not even get your job back b/c of AI? No it is not. Would this guys world end if we castrated him and made him a eunuch? I mean he could still drive an Uber w/o those body parts right? 🤷♂️
Re: Astro Bot PS5 Fans Wonder Where All the Square Enix Characters Are
@Ashina "Square is a 3rd party company"
I think you answered your own question.
Re: Astro Bot PS5 Credits Indicate DLC Cameo Bots Could Be Inbound
@Kidfunkadelic83 Oops. I think I read both of your comments before replying and I may have confused the answers, so see below.
@code45709 "Super Mario Sunshine"
Re: Sony Increases PS5 Controller Prices in US, Europe, and More
@NEStalgia "Everyone wanted Sony to "win" the console war,"
I'm ok w/ Sony winning the console war, and Nintendo winning the handheld war, but I don't understand the lack of 3rd party options, that has never happened to me before going back to the PS1, Gamecube, Dreamcast, etc, I've always had a couple of 1st party and a couple of 3rd party for when you just have people over. It's been years now and not a single cheap controller, just a bunch of $170 ones.
You know what the USA is like, I'm honestly surprised their hasn't been a class action lawsuit about Sony's monopoly of the controller market. It's not normal.
Re: PS5 Pro Showcase Set for Tomorrow, Hosted by Mark Cerny
Maybe it's just a 9 minute explanation of what they improved on the horrible battery drifting stick controllers to raise the price $5? 🤑
Re: Sony Increases PS5 Controller Prices in US, Europe, and More
INCREASE!?!?
This is crazy. 🤑
Re: Astro Bot PS5 Credits Indicate DLC Cameo Bots Could Be Inbound
@code45709 "the ||x, square, circle & triangle levels are insanely frustrating and not fun"
Thanks. I knew there had to be something gimmicky in this game I wasn't going to like, that sounds like it. All of those 10/10 scores seemed a bit optimistic to me after booting up Playroom and being unable to climb a wall b/c why would I think to turn the controller left and right?
Yet another reason to wait and play it.
Re: Astro Bot PS5 Fans Wonder Where All the Square Enix Characters Are
"Astro Bot PS5 Fans Wonder Where All the Square Enix Characters Are"
I'm guessing... in Squenix games? Maybe Team Asobi didn't want to add them in their game?
I'm guessing Mario and Link and Bowser are Zelda are in the game since we didn't get another article about how there aren't any Nintendo characters in the game. Unless there are but spoilers. 😂
I know the internet is full of nonsense but this is some pretty serious non-sense.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Astro Bot?
Re: Sony Execs Seem to Think the Company Doesn't Have Enough Original IP
@Decoy_Snake Wipeout and DriveClub feel like a dime a dozen to me, it's kind of sad about MNR though. Everyone compared it unfavorably to Mario Kart, and it wasn't as good, but Nintendo hasn't let us build our own tracks yet, just 2D Mario levels.
Re: PS5, PC Disaster Concord Is Now Officially Offline Indefinitely
@get2sammyb "Gone and likely forgotten"
Can't be forgotten until after the show airs though. 😂

Re: Sony Execs Seem to Think the Company Doesn't Have Enough Original IP
Re: Astro Bot (PS5) - One of the Greatest PlayStation Platformers of All Time
@Quintumply Thanks.
Re: Astro Bot (PS5) - One of the Greatest PlayStation Platformers of All Time
@Quintumply Thanks for answering the time question.
Re: Minecraft's Weird Live Action Movie Is Going to Be Massive, Isn't It?
Re: PS Plus Extra's September Cull Has 4 More Great PS5, PS4 Games Added to It, 16 in Total
Re: Players Take the Easy Way Out in Pursuit of Concord's Coveted Platinum PS5 Trophy
This. Is. Hilarious.🤣
I mean can you write a better ending to this game’s story than - and for its final few days the game became a suicidal death cult with people just killing themselves for a trophy.
I hope they work that in as a post credit scene in the upcoming tv episode.🤣
Re: PS5, PC Shooter Concord Dead on Arrival, Is Being Taken Offline This Week as Dev 'Explores Options'
Be careful what you wish for.🤑
Re: PS Plus Essential Receives 3 New PS5, PS4 Games, All Available Now
Signed up this weekend for a month of PS+ Extra for $15 to play Lego Star Wars, Crisis Core and most importantly Plucky Squire, may also try to find time for Infamous First Light. I may not even bother adding these 3 to my library. 🤷🏻♂️
Re: Surprise! Barmy Shooter Son and Bone Arrives Imminently on PS5
Watched the video from the other article and all I see is a new Serious Sam game. 🤷🏻♂️
Re: PSA: Astro Bot PS5 Copies Leak, Watch Out for Spoilers
Spoilers: Astro Bot is about the friends we made along the way.
