If the demo was anything to go by, I'd say 8 is about right. Fun to play but story seemed a little off kilter and navigation was a little weird. I also spent some time in demo with movement mechanics and the jumping seemed a little less than intuitive around high objects, which lead to falling in some places you wouldn't expect in a game like this. I'm sure it's still a load of fun but I wasn't expecting a 10 no matter how bad we all wanted to play it. 8 is fine.

@breakneck Interesting perspective, I felt Remake was more bland and had a forgettable story. So much so that it was surreal that Cloud and I were having the same "I don't remember much but this all seems somewhat familiar" moments. It was like I truly was sharing his fever dream in Rebirth. LOL

Knowing you paid to support a project and even pirates will probably be playing it before you.... priceless.

So mad. I mistakenly purchased the FF16 deluxe edition add on instead of the DLC season pass, that was both marked $24.99. Sony wouldn't refund me so I guess I won't be playing. Not given them more more money. Ugh....

@ATaco Mine expired almost a year ago and I haven't seen a single thing to make me think I need to renew it.

@Nepp67 DD2 is definitely a slog. It's in the genre I usually adore but I don't get the hype. I'm not taking away from the millions who enjoy it but it just didn't click for me.

@Jayslow I'm corn-fused, you playing FF16 with a keyboard on the PS5. I'm sure it's just a joke that went over my head. I'm not that tall.

@Nem Agreed. Options should be available for everyone to play how they want. Especially as gamers age and reflexes weren't quiet what they were, not to mention accessibility for all players. I'm glad people are able to enjoy difficult games but why limit only those players? Having said that, I doubt this is going to be as hard as some rouge-lite game but more options is always better, at least to me.

It's not really being marketed, either. Outside of game sites, I haven't seen a single ad, but maybe I'm just not plugged in enough.

@B_Lindz Definitely an issue with single player games. I finished Rebirth and said ok, what's next. There isn't a single decent PS5 single player game I haven't played. Depressing....

@Ultrasmiles and the will of scalpers vs Sony's ability to deter them. I think they all talk a big game but do the bare minimum to stop it.

@MomsSpaghetti Think you have to look at long term sales but yeah, little early to be calling a game that just released a classic. As I played through, though, I thought this was a game that could stand the test of time. I think we've just been eating so well in this category that it will take a good drought before people pick some of these up.

@Matthewnh I feel the opposite. Maybe it's the standard versions that are pointless. Less than 10 stellar must-have games (IMO) later and we are staring down an imminent Pro release? What's the point of not waiting for a Pro?

Please tell me it's better than Fire Emblem Engage. I'm glad if people enjoyed it, but that was utter trash to me. Couldn't even get through a couple of hours.

Just finished P3R last weekend. The worst part of the game was when it was over. I even slow played it and clocked over 150 hours. Just didn't want it to end. Can't wait for Persona 6.

@rockodoodle Same and I feel like I'd not give my Steam Deck or Switch the parental attention they deserve if I bring another portable device into the house.

@Triumph741 Because considering this is a AAA game from an absolute almost no miss powerhouse production company based on an immortal legend of a game and series, an 8 seems like a bit of a red flag for either the game (we'll see) or the reviewer's taste. I'm definitely surprised by the score but I guess most of us are going to see for ourselves. An 8 won't mean it's a bomb, but yeah, I was definitely not expecting that. It's supposed to be a remake, and somewhat better spiritual successor to the original. How would anyone not think 8? "Oh... yikes, now I'm a little worried"???

They lost a customer a few months back. Microsoft may have lost the console wars but they won the subscription wars, if there ever was one. I have a Switch, PS5, a gaming PC and Game Pass. Completely gave up on PS subscriptions. I am not into COD 29 or whatever online shooter is hip, so the only benefit (for me) was cloud saves. I can live without that.

Looks fun but I'd definitely prefer something like this handheld (and not a $200 add-on peripheral)

I have a gaming PC, Switch, and PS5, but no Xbox. I bowed out after several RRODs in the 360 era. However, I think having multiple consoles benefits everyone in gaming and would hate to see MS ever stop making them.

Just pull the plug already. I have a PS5, Switch and decent gaming rig. Never saw a need for an Xbox this generation and apparently I'm not the only one. Several of these choices aren't even Xbox exclusives. Deathloop?

English dub? I know that's not everyone's cuppa but having the option is better than not having it.
