I bought the PC version and was using my PS5 controller to play and have to say I almost quit playing until I switched to KB and mouse. I'm sure that some will have no issues with the controller schematics but I wasn't even enjoying the game until I got rid of the controller. The R1/L1 for spells etc was brutal, at least to me.
Well, it's not an "either or" to buy BG3 or this, but the only people I see this making sense for are people who ONLY have a Switch or a PS4 to game on. Nobody else has a sane reason to buy this port.
Beats the heck out of COD 25 (or whatever version they are on), I have no idea why a bunch of old politicians were fighting over that. If it's your cup of tea, fine, but I'm glad to see a RPG like this doing so well. Gives me hope for the future of gaming.
@Stragen8 Plus, a lot of people who played Twisted Metal in it's prime are probably also old enough to be grandparents now, including myself. Who is this marketing to?
Precursor, this is a day one buy for me but their human models are really kind of weird, can't put my finger on it, but some real uncanny valley stuff going on here. I can't wait to play it, though.
Haven't played It Takes Two. Heard great things, though! One of the first Plus games I can say that has great reviews and I haven't played. Now I just need someone to play with.... :X
I know there's lots of new IPs out there but this era of remake, retrogrades, visually enhanced games seems to be going over-board. I'm sure there are people who can't wait to get this, and maybe some people that never played it but watched the shows, but I don't know if I'd fork out MSRP to replay this, yet again. Maybe unpopular opinion but that's just how I feel about it.
@nessisonett Definitely think it missed it's window of exploitation. Is there a millennial alive that knows what Twisted Metal even is? Does kind of remind me of Zombieland with the dark humor. Whether it can capture the same type of audience remains to be seen.
@Bentleyma I believe you and I know I've touched that series before but not finished it. The author of this article seems to elude to that not being a big deal and sounds like I'd at least get my Crosbel fix. Heck, I played Ys games in backwards order and enjoyed every minute. Just really like a good RPG.
This is absolutely a niche game in the West. Be shocked if it's not $39.99 within months of releasing. I want to buy and play it but will probably wait. Too much in my backlog already...
@BeerIsAwesome Yep. I think we are as infatuated with JRPGs as they are with Western culture. It's like an American getting a Kanji t shirt or tattoo and having no idea what it says, which they do with English words, as well.
@Drago201 People can buy whatever they want and gamers talking about spending money is a little ironic. None of us need to buy any game or game system, ever. It's all discretionary spending, (unless you're a professional gamer.) Having said that, yes that's a moronic amount of money to pay.
I put every effort into loving DMC and just couldn't. I did love Tales from Arise and loved the FF remake and traditional FF. What do you think the chances are of me liking this game?
I'm hoping, and every sign points to it, that this game is fun. It most certainly doesn't resemble, in any fashion, a traditional FF game (that point isn't even debatable), but as a lover of ARPG, I am definitely going to try this out. I don't mind game series evolving (just look at BOTW or TOTK), as long as they remain fun.
@Triumph741 Do you mean preorder charts? I'm definitely in the camp of not wanting to get "cyber-punked" and have a wait and see attitude towards Starfield. Think the expectations may be higher than what anyone could deliver, though.
Demos are a double-edged swords. Like cybersecurity, you only have to be wrong one time. Wonder what the percentage of games that get good publicity from demos? This game is going to sell on name recognition, regardless.
I really need to play the demo. I'm probably one of the few gamers who never cared at all for DMC and this is 100% giving me those vibes. I wish it was traditional Final Fantasy in an ARPG format, but it really doesn't appear to be. I'll try the demo, but definitely have reservations.
@BusyOlf I know it's coming the normal time in the production line for a Pro but I just feel like there were so many years missed for people with a PS5, with shortage, pandemic, supply chain issues everywhere, etc. Even if it came out a year from now, it would feel too soon.
@Kidfried I'd be more interested in black, as well. 95% of my gear is black and just got that white PS5 sitting there. Xbox did that already and white is just a tricky color for any appliance.
@Fyz306903 I truly don't know how they survive, except the second hand market where they give you $5 store credit and turn around and sell your game for $20. More and more digital is definitely going to be the perfect storm that sends them into remnants of the past.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Feast Continues, Cracks Steam's Top 10 Most Played Games List
Don't think so. This generation loves their online games and FPS. I'm just happy to see this kind of RPG do this well.

Re: Round Up: Baldur's Gate 3 Reviews Suggest It's One of the Best RPGs Ever Made
I'm enjoying it but wouldn't say it's much better than DOS. Maybe I'm just not far enough in. Seems pretty similar, if anything.

Hot burning garbage.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Larian Studios Has No Interest in Being Acquired
May have no interest but if BG3 is the success I think it will be, the money is going to be hard to resist.
Re: Looks Like Quake 2 Will Target PS5, PS4 Later This Month
@theSpectre Probably because it's a retro game, at best. Not a new IP.
