Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and Its Glimpse of PS6 Potential

Will this come off like Sony's PS3? Are we too far into what should have been 3/4 of a product console life cycle, without a pandemic? Do devs have to put in the effort to make this a worthwhile investment? Does that effort rely on adoption rate?

If this came with disc drive, I think it takes off. The fact it doesn't even come with that, or a stand, but costs more than a standard PS5 with a disc drive, this may be a swing and a miss, and Sony comes off as tone deaf.

Time will answer all of these questions and whether this rings true or not.

I'd say it doesn't look good, right now, but I'm always pleasantly surprised when it comes to gaming, and my level of cynicism is proven wrong.

Re: Like It or Not, This Is Why PS5 Pro Doesn't Have a Disc Drive

Self-fulfilling prophecy. The more digital only machines you sell the more percentage of digital games will be purchased. I like to "almost" own my games but afraid I'm going to be in the minority, along with most people who visit this site. I'm not knocking digital fans, but I like more choices not less, in consumerism, and do not look forward to a future with zero physical console games.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Exec Shawn Layden Says There's Been a 'Collapse' in Gaming Creativity

I think there's been a move to less creativity, and partly to blame by consumers and game companies. Fresh IPs are rarely rewarded and can mean the untimely end of a company. Hence all the remakes or continuation of tried and true IPs. We rarely reward creativity, anymore, and costs to make a game are astronomical compared to what they used to be. It's hardly surprising. I'm not placing the complete blame at anyone's feet, it's just where we are at.

I kept Death Stranding on a shelf for over a year because I had heard how it was just a walking simulators. I kept finding better games to play and only cracked it open when I cleared my back log and the Director's cut upgrade was available.

The damn game is a masterpiece and I can't believe it took me so long to play it. No review does it credit for what it is and you really just have to play it to understand. I'm not saying everyone should like it but I did, despite my reservations to play it.

Re: Rumour: PS6 Could Span a Console and Handheld Device

I just hope the industry figures out how to resolve scalping, once and for all. I get Sony is trying but they almost make it so hard for a non-scalper too. I'm not suggesting I have the answer but with a ll the technological advances in the era of AI, you would think this one would be easier than it is.

I feel like, and I'm not speaking for anyone, just my stupid take, that the people not liking this game are more fans of soulslike games. I could be wrong, got to try it for myself, but it's not like the combat of notable masterpieces, like Zelda LttP, were that engaging, or hard, either. Maybe I'm just misreading their take. Plan on picking it up to see what the fuss is, either way.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

tselliot

If it sells like hotcakes, won't matter what I think. To me the most off putting, more than price, is to have to worry about buying two other parts to make it work like I'd want it to. (Disc drives are already selling it, which should be a clue how well this will sell) Only hope of getting it cheaper is for it to not sell well, which would just be bad for games, too. I don't think that will happen when people barely scoff at $1300 phones, these days. It's gonna be fine. We'll all be fine. Most depressing part is with Xbox eating sh-t, don't expect this scenario to get better. You Sony fanbois all wanted that to happen, so here we are.
