I still have flashbacks of the 100 extra hours spent trying to find the last few collectibles in Returnal. It made me hate that game in the end. Still a 9 though.

Tempted to try Wild Hearts when I have a little 60hr slot for it.

On the one hand I'd have trouble picking all the roguelikes out of my games list but luckily I'm good in that I rate every game I play here on my Push Square Games Collection so I've done it already.

Never even heard of the original and the trophy list looks good so as it's desolate out there I think I'll give this a go.

Finally finished Atlas Fallen which was just joyless so back to some fun shooty stuff with The First Descendant.

At least it's not restricted to typing them in with the controller.

Larian did well to pick up Aoife, which makes it such a shame that she won't be able to share her presenting talent with more games like the good old Videogame Nation days. Damn I miss that show.

Fantastic! As a WF1 kickstarter this is an easy day one purchase.
I'm sure it was just for the trailer but there wasn't much damage happening in those "gameplay" portions.

Hate the game if you will but they did at least put some effort into the controller. Better than most of them.

Definitely my GOTY so far, it has such a satisfying loop.
It's a rare game that keeps me playing beyond platinum.

I had to give The First Descendant a break after putting in 108 hours in 9 days so I started Flintlock. It's rubbish. Looking forward to finishing it and moving onto Nobody Wants to Die.

@LikelySatan you're very welcome. As for the enemies they have small predictable routes they are on, the ones you can see anyway! They will follow you though and if you wander into another bunch whilst running away you have no chance as they are so aggressive they just destroy you.
It's very much of one enemy at a time to get through.
Once you upgrade the little fox thing enough you can easily get an advantage and spam attacks from afar.

This will be the normal base price sooner than you think.

I'm quite a few hours in and this is one of those games that makes you want to put your foot through the telly.
The platforming is atrocious. She has a double jump that misses handholds she can clearly grab.
The combat is baffling. For some reason no animation is interruptible and the enemy hits take preference when both hitting at the same time. Also I do think one of the weapons is bugged and won't stun during unblockable attacks.
Cheap attacks such as exploding enemies hidden round corners, or snipers you can't make out, and the big chickens need to go in the bin!
Also the dog thing constantly makes noises which means you can't hear enemies coming behind you or direction of attacks. He really needs a setting to quieten him down.
I'm going to persevere but it's quite hateable at this point.

Looks fab, I do love me some detectiveness.

A great 8 from me, one of my favourites of the year. One of those I can't wait to get stuck back into every day. Definitely not worthy of a 3. Although I do want to knock 8 points off for the Ultra-Precision Code Analyser mini-game.

@Northern_munkey couldn't agree more, I'm not bored by any repetition at all and having a great time playing. I just wish I could colour the base outfits so everyone looked different.

@Shigurui oooh that's interesting I bet it's more than a 100 hours to get there, at least!

@get2sammyb ahh that would explain it, have they not released the story or part for those specific trophies then?
It does look like a nice dip in dip out game whilst playing other stuff. I even enjoyed it on my phone.

Looking forward to diving into this but still nobody has the platinum for it so it looks like being a very very long one.
