@Deljo That price is absolutely mental. I bought a 55 CX 18 months ago for £1299 and I thought that was a steal... Until a few months ago when I bought the 65 C1 for £1315.
How are they getting cheaper!? I thought inflation was wreaking havoc on everything!?
@AdamNovice
Lol didn't you read what I said? I'm LESS excited. I'm the opposite of worked up.
Regarding HFW - you might wanna add a spoiler warning.
All I can add is the execution of that thing isn't very good and would've been so much better if it were PS5 only.
@AdamNovice I never said they had to. I understand wheels were already in motion and all that.
I remember Cory Barlog saying he had some ideas for the game which weren't possible on PS4. Disappointingly the same is likely to apply for this one and I just wanted it to be the best it could be. #playhasnolimits
Less excited when it was confirmed as cross gen, and even less excited having played HFW. Don't get me wrong, I loved HFW but you could see it was held back by the PS4. I can't go into detail without spoilers but faster loading, 4k 60fps performance and 3d audio is simply not enough to mask the flaws in the whole cross gen approach.
Hmm. This game looks expensive to develop. It's truly AAA and it's also licensed. I guess post launch DLC will be how they drive up profits then. No way they just give us a £70 game and send us on our way
Rumour is that a lot more was supposed to be shown today but several western developers wanted this cancelled in light of the war in Ukraine. So instead of cancel the whole thing, Sony gave us this instead.
A pushback from 2021 to Q4 2022 is a helluva pushback.
Which is good, because I wasn't all that impressed with the extended gameplay demo they released ages ago. Hopefully they've spent some time improving this because I really wanna like it
"Addressed several cosmetic issues" and "Various performance improvements" and also "Fixes for certain rare or conditional crashes / progression blockers"
... Could've easily covered half of the patch notes that CDPR issued. Sometimes, less is more 🙄
@themightyant Yup! I turned it off. I just wanted to know and see clearly how the new versions are different but they're doing it in a very long-winded way. I get that doing it live shows that they have nothing to hide (this time) but for me, it's unhelpful.
I dunno. I think they peaked with San Andreas. GTA 4 was great (although it didn't get its flowers until people got sick of 5) and while RDR2 was the most impressive game I've ever played, it's the least fun I've ever had with a Rockstar game, like ever.
I hope he's just saying what he has to in order to satisfy investors, because, respectfully, that's a load of crap. I bought this on a discount but within 20 minutes of playing I realised I had been conned. I'm eagerly awaiting those updates because this still needs a lot of work.
People getting triggered because a company they don't work for has apparently "devalued their brand" never made any sense to me. Nobody is paying you to GAF
@get2sammyb
Not necessarily. It depends on the factory, the raw materials and the machinery that's being utilised.
It could be possible that they're produced in different factories, or on different factory lines entirely.
What's more likely is they share some production steps, but with the chip shortage there's a finite amount of PS5's that can be produced at a given time. Therefore it makes sense to prioritise PS5 production but produce 4s where 5 production is not possible due to the aforementioned shortage.
Anyway, haven't played this game in about 6 years. I'll wait for the PS5 version as now I have something other than just replaying the story with better graphics to look forward to
@Ken_Kaniff It's not 'bad', it's just disappointing. For a PS5 and PC release I think most people expected a lot better.
I guess the point I'm making is, even though HZD and GoW Ragnarok are cross-gen and held back by the PS4, they still punch way above their weight graphically (for now, anyway).
It remains to be seen if Forspoken can deliver open world gaming in a new and innovative way only made possible by the latest technology. That would be something to set it apart.
@Ridebird Same for me with that game. Whenever I put it in rest mode then try to wake it up, it boots and goes into rest mode again so I have to wake it up twice to start playing. Odd
I'm sure this will look great but I'm feeling burnt out with all of these open world foresty type games. Rural environments just aren't as interesting as they used to be for me because I can name so many that have been executed really well.
I really want to see how this gen handles urban cities full of advanced NPC animations, AI, cars, planes etc.
Where on earth are the reviews for this thing?
It's almost as if there's an embargo on indicating when the review embargo lifts, because nobody has said when their review gets published.
@Splat
According to Guerrilla, the PS4 is not holding the game back because all their ideas for the game are being implemented.
So, if that is true, the only thing potentially holding this game back is Guerrilla's ambition for it.
Usually in life, the anticipation of things last much longer and is more impactful than the thing itself.
But GTA SA is the only game I can remember that flipped that completely for me. It's head and shoulders above every other GTA game for so many different reasons.
There's a huge new article on the PS blog about gameplay and the traversal system for Horizon Forbidden West. It was posted some days ago now but don't see it on Pushsquare. I'm genuinely just curious as to why it's not here?
So looking forward to seeing what Rocksteady have been upto since the reveal last year.
I'm sure visually this is gonna look awesome. 1080p Arkham Knight still looks excellent 6 years later!
Speaking of which, tomorrow would be a great time to announce the 2160p 60fps patch, wouldn't it!?
Got this as a gift last week. I can't believe how visually buggy this is on PS5, despite having been out a year now. Trees and bushes are constantly popping in and out of view which is crap.
That aside I'm enjoying the game. I can only imagine what this must've looked like unpatched a year ago
I jumped back into this after the 60fps update, but sadly I couldn't finish it. The melee combat and stupid human AI stood out even worse, so I moved on to something else.
That being said I'm really looking forward to HFW, as I expect all of those areas to be improved.
Nowadays, I see the supply shortages less as a hindrance and more like a tailwind.
If I've learned anything during the last 18 months, (and this includes the recent petrol situation in the UK) it's that whenever something is widely reported as being in short supply, demand immediately goes up.

Re: Forspoken Impresses in 10 Minutes of PS5 Gameplay
I think I've seen enough at this point to conclude I will not be buying this game after all.
Re: Suicide Squad PS5 Will Not Kill the Justice League Until 2023
I'll only accept this delay if they use the extra time to give us Arkham Knight in 2160p at 60fps. Cheers.

... To the surprise of nobody.
Quite a long time between GT and this, though.
Surely Sony has a surprise up their sleeve for the summer 👀

Nice way to divert some attention off of HFW this week.
Clever marketing or is it just CDPR holding a grudge against Sony after getting their game pulled?
Probably both, or neither.

... In 2022/23? Yeah? Cool, moving on then.

Cool

Not disagreeing with you. But did you see what 'current gen-only' Forspoken looked like yesterday? Yeeish
Re: Guerrilla Shares PS4 Screenshots of Horizon Forbidden West
@4kgk2
Yeah. Probably because HZD was as close to the best they could get out of the old machine.
Re: PS5's Forspoken Has a 60 Frames-Per-Second Option, Raytracing Also Available
Quite disappointing to have to choose, as this game has been built specifically for this gen.
I thought the AMD Fidelity FX stuff was meant to deliver 4k at 60fps for this game, but I suppose we'll have to wait for the PS5 Pro.
Re: Raw Forspoken Gameplay Features Combat, Menus
The traversal looks like it'll get tedious after a while.
The combat looks weak.
The world looks dull.
I'm thoroughly unimpressed by this trailer but I retain hope that there's much more to this game.
Re: Franklin, Dr. Dre Headline Huge New GTA Online Story

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Aiming for Q1 2022 Release, Major Update Planned
I don't care if its £1.50. I'm not purchasing this on PS5 until I see reviews.

If this is a Mafia-style remake across all three games, then hell mf yes take my money.
If its a Mass Effect style remaster (which I loved, btw) then nah, £30 max.

Re: PS5 Has Reached 1 Million UK Sales Faster Than Any Other PlayStation Console

It's not that basic though, is it?
Usually if product A is out of stock, product B sells more as the consumer has options.
In this case, product A, B and C are out of stock. The consumer has very limited options.
