I do wonder how many of these 'too-good-to-be-true Asian developer games' have actually released.

We got Wu-Kong despite most people saying it'd never come out. Crimson Desert finally has a release date. Any others? And which ones genuinely did just go quiet?

I'm yet to see a video of this game where the player is a master of the combat system. It's constant 'you hit, I hit' which I find really unsatisfying. I wanna see some blocks, perfect parries and dodges for the love of god!

That's my only concern, otherwise this looks incredible.

In any case, I'm hoping Ghost of Yotei, Saros and now this (if true) are a sign that Sony are entering that purple patch we saw between 2016-2020.

The DLC was great. I'm happy that they get to explore other things. I may not buy their new game but I'm thrilled that they're still successful.

I used to subscribe annually to PS Extra during the Days of Play event. But the extra 5 days for the outage made me ineligible for the discount, which forced me to think about the value I was getting.

In the end, I decided that I didn't need a year-long membership, even if it was 25% off. The monthly games are often uninteresting for me so I was wasting a lot of money.

I'll now just subscribe on a monthly basis as and when I need to. I expect I'll spend half what I used to in a year without compromising on my gaming. In my opinion, PS Plus is overpriced.

Very few of us here play Fortnite, Roblox, CoD etc and those are the highest grossing live service games on PS5.
If anything, this survey just reinforces who the target audience is for Marathon

Another crap month. I genuinely think it's better value for money to subscribe monthly nowadays.
Dip in when there's a game I want to play then back out again when there's not.
I won't be subscribing annually ever again.

Because other gamers would've bought into the sales pitch from Sony on how the Pro delivers exceptionally better performance. And they could potentially not be getting it on a game as popular as this, £700 later.
It's not that hard to understand tbh.

Still waiting for a game to live up to that Matrix awakens UE5 demo from several years ago. I am tired.

As someone who loves the second game more than the first, I think the momentum has been severely lost. So many problems with season 2, too many to list tbh. Very disappointing

I disagree slightly. This is giving Grand Theft Redemption vibes for me. Perhaps we're getting the best of both.

Crazy to think that the first two times I played this, I couldn't get into it.
But after the third time it became one of my favourite games ever, combat flaws notwithstanding.

I hate first person games. I tried Cyberpunk 3x but couldn't get into it.
But Deus Ex is the only exception to that. Really enjoyed the world and story of both PS games

I'm literally playing Shadow of War for the first time now. Beat Mordor last week.

If I played these at release, I would've kept them. It's game design like this that reminds me of why I became a gamer in the first place.

Came to say this.
People need to accept that the gaming industry is moving away from native 4k because it's too taxing.

Machine learning, AI, upscaling, PSSR etc - that is where the industry is headed.

Well the GTA trilogy still needs work. Waiting for a patch to fix the pop in among other things.
A 4k 60fps remaster of GTA 4 should then be next! Preferably before 6 releases.

I really wanna try those middle earth games because of how awesome Nemeis sounds. Was waiting for a 60fps update but with yesterday's news, I realise that ain't happening.

From what I've read it's still many years away so if anything, it'll be a PS6 exclusive.

They won't release it in early Sept if Mafia is coming out in summer. Think I read August somewhere.

Mosty likely GTA releases in November, assuming it's not delayed.

A presumed November release probably gives one reason why we don't have release dates for Yotei or DS2 yet.

Well, their quote says "fiscal year" so calendar Q1 2026 is still a possibility for either title.

I guess it's much easier to sell millions of copies of a game when it's roughly £10-£15 nowadays.

Helldivers is a success but it's seen as a convenient accident. He's had more misses than hits recently so the general feeling around him doesn't seem to be positive, and now even the market reflects that.

Worrying thing is that if it is a next-gen game, which it likely is, then we're looking at 2028 earliest.
But they'll need a solid user base to make any money which could mean 2029 or later.

Perhaps it'll be cross-gen which means before 2028 but that doesn't sound as exciting from a technical standpoint

Remember when Sony took Cyberpunk off of the PS Store and gave refunds to everyone?

Yeah, CDPR haven't forgotten. Why would they bother support Sonys mid-gen refresh for free, when they could opt not to and leave Sony hanging?

Sucks for gamers though.

I don't know if I'd call 2 main games, 1 remaster, 1 Lego version and 1 online version 'milking' the franchise if this has all taken place over 9 years.

How many CoDs do we get in that time? Fifa? 2K games? Assassin's Creed? Come on

Tbh, no amount of words, photos or YouTube videos can give justice to how good this game looks running on PS5 pro and an OLED screen.
