Eta late 2019 to early 2020, most likely ps5 launch title. Heck in 2019 we should be seeing ps5 launch anyways. He's just a perfectionist which is fine so I highly doubt it will be out during the prime ps4 years, most likely I imagine a "ps4 compatible, optomized for ps5" game assuming sony sticks with pc like architecture and backwards/forwards compatibility becomes the norm.
@ShogunRok oh I have no doubt es vi is in the works, for me it's a matter of how soon are we talking. I've been spoiled by their 4-5 year window when it comes to releasing a new es, and just hope that it doesn't become a fallout 3-4 length wait (though we did get new Vegas in between). If they stay with that pattern this year or next year we should have it our hands.
So long as a new elder scrolls is in the works in happy. I had hoped fallout would scratch that itch but as good as it is it's not the world I've been so immersed in since I first was introduced to it (daggerfall). Hopefully in the meantime my second favorite developer can drop a masterpiece despite how little we actually know and return us to the incredible world of mass effect.
@get2sammyb I loved. And I mean loved knack. Sure I never watched a single cutscene, or from what I gathered thought it was a good story, even the mechanics (foot and hand movement when big knack) was spotty, but I thought it was first and foremost fun. I am on my 6th playthrough, bought 5 copies over ps4 first year as gifts, and then have gifted multiple psn cards so others may try it out. Not a single person who actually played it doesn't at least say that it was fun, and that it got undeserved marks in review. Knowing a knack sequel is in the works makes me very happy, about as happy as if crash or medieval was coming back. Ok well not as happy as if sir Daniel was coming back but... Just know I will continue playing this game on a regular occurance until the next one is out.
@get2sammyb I'm not sure if you answered this or not, but is there a proper sprint option for running around? The lack of having that option seriously hindered any replay value, and even the first run through of the otherwise brilliant everyone's gone to the rapture. I understood the decision, however having it at least in replays would have meant multiple play throughs and a further understanding of the story in regards to things I missed because in the first play through sometimes the option was to take a 30 minute detour for a minute long clip, or to just advance.
I'm glad to hear the news, but I do hope that the full campaign is also playable co op. Having a full campaign is great, but nowadays I find myself focusing a lot on games that have a full co op campaign. To be honest that wasn't the primary gripe I had with titanfall. The weird resolution have me headaches after 1-2 matches, and I found it strange that respawn put so little unlocks in the multiplayer. That really killed its replay value for me. The controls, map design, gameplay were what made the game stand on its on, but it was the lack of any real diversity that made it a 30-50hr game instead of a true cod competitor that it could have been.
I've always heard great things, but the sheer volume of these games has always scared me away and when they are on sale the lack of online co-op always is the deciding factor.
@KratosMD I agree. I think fall of 2017 is our release date for es6, people forget how relatively quickly oblivion and fallout 3 came out together. Oblivion 06, fallout 3 08. And that was during a notoriously difficult developing era in that you had 360 and ps3 completely different architecture with the ps3 being notoriously difficult. With this gen, we should see much shorter development times because essentially the architectures are very similar to pc and each other. They already said prior to fallout 4 just for kicks they had skyrim running on a ps4 dev kit. I'm hoping, and anxiously awaiting es6. I thought fallout would scratch the itch, but all it did was make me wish it was skyrim or really any es game. Who knows though, maybe we really are in for a long wait and to help us through the wait they will do what we wanted ea to do and give us an elder scrolls collection.
Titanfall was a great game, it's mechanics were destiny level solid as hell, the premise was sweet, and the guys running respawn had not ever been involved in a game that I did not just completely enjoy dating back 2 console generations. It was a large reason why I got the x1 day 1, got the collectors edition, and endured the weird resolution that fried my eyes every 3 to for 4 rounds. That all said, I look forward to this.
Bioware, take your time, make it perfect, and release a mass effect collection. I for one will not complain if we get that and andromeda comes out in 2017.
@get2sammyb I'm not sure if you ever gave it a whirl, but as ive posted before I grabbed the talos principle during the last sale and have been nothing short of blown away. Some puzzles have however induced a migraine, but it's incredibly rewarding and a great philosophically challenging puzzler. Can't speak high enough words for that game, after the division this weekend I fully intend on bearing witness to blows new game.
I'm still trying to figure out how a company can trademark words. Unless it's the name of a product or service that the company itself invented, it makes no sense to me. I should look more into it to find out what reasons they have for trademarking it, the only thing I can think of is before let's play became a thing, it was a Sony marketing slogan or something like that. Plus in my own opinion, the last thing I would wish is to be affiliated with let's plays. I'm sorry but I would rather read an article about a game, than watch any sort of let's play, or streamer. There are certain sites that instead of writing some articles they just do videos, I don't go to their page any more. But again, it's just me.
@xX_RiscazZ_Xx I did mine through amazon as well, I got the code to register with ubi yesterday am, and got my beta email from ubi around 8 or 9 pm last night.
Started the download last night. Here is hoping for a good time, need something with some good co-op while destiny straightens itself out and gives us some actual pve content. Of only the beta started today.
I will be anxiously awaiting the fallout 4:skyrim mod. Inputs all of skyrim into fallout 4, enabling you to either play fallout 4, or skyrim. I will probably be waiting forever but I can dream right? Why couldn't I have won the last powerball. First check I wrote would have been to Bethesda to hire developers to work on an elder scrolls collection for current gen. I wouldn't even want profit, just pay me back what I paid when it undoubtedly makes its money back and I will even pay for my own collectors edition. Oh well.
I would like an early access program, but it's got to come with a digital refund program as well. Steams system for that is great, but should be expanded on. I think currently it's anything within 2 weeks and less than 2 hours of play. Early access should have a 4hr limit, with guidelines. For instance a game like day z, I feel like I paid for that a long, long time ago. Its still at last check in a disaster. I should be able to get a refund. For full digital games, there should be a 4hr 2 week refund timeframe, and the real must have in a digital marketplace, a licence trading feature. You can't trade season passes, dlc, or bonus items, but the digital liscense is a must. I would sell my digital versions of mordor, thief, tomb raider, rayman, trine, trials, the witcher, dying light, blood borne, far cry, resident evil, madden 25/15, rivals, infamous, nba 2k, until dawn, the order in a heartbeat. Sorry for going off topic but man a digital reselling marketplace would be incredible. Doesn't even have to be for $$, I would gladly accept psn store credit.
Because of the support I have for knack, let it be knack. But if it were me? Something tells me the evil within. Quickly forgotten about, I played it, got distracted by something else, and never returned. Would not be upset seeing that.
No destiny 2 this year means they better have 2 raids, 5 new strikes, plus a way of bringing forward older content and making it relevent. I mentioned on a previous post they should expand challenge mode to include previous raids. They should fix prison of elders to be what a lot of us thought it would be, a different final boss each week, no key needed to open chest, then take all currently available strikes, and include them in heroic strike playlist. Give each boss strike specific drops as well to encourage collectors. After these things are done, create a new pve event that rolls around monthly like iron banner, with it having it's own rewards like banner.
Then, throw a bone at pvp and pve players, create a pvp patrol for each planet. Players can swear allegiance to either the vanguard or crucible, patrol missions will have the normal missions, plus allegiance specific missions that would task you with killing x number of guardians while on patrol. To keep the world alive, and create some true random warzones, pvp patrol should have fireteams up to 6, and population for each world guardian wise.
These are a few examples that would make this year relatively exciting and longer lasting while engaging players in collecting new gear, weapons, and providing the opportunity for each person to deck their characters in powerful and unique styles
If this is more what we have to look forward to instead of traditional dlc now that microtransactions were introduced to fund these events, destiny might finally fall off my rotation for a long period of time. I would have preferred getting an actual dlc that by now we would have known about and paid for the season pass. Or, and this goes against my preference when it comes to mmos, a challenge mode for all raids and poe that for the week they are active drops the gear and weapons from that raid at 310-320. Since its painfully obvious they are ignoring the pve content players in favor of pvp players in getting more and more annoyed. How pve players don't have a banner type event that rolls around monthly, dropping endgame loot, and haven't since the queen first showed up at the tower is beyond me. We (pve primary players) chew up all the content we can get our hands on, and for the most part just smile and enjoy the content that's there, while pvp players play pvp primarily, whine constantly about Nerfs and buffs, yet get so much more attention than pve players.
I apologize for the sidetracked rant, but my friends and I have all been playing since the alpha, love doing pve content over pvp and enjoy the game a lot because of raids and strikes, yet feel constantly nudged to focus on the smallest part of the game and most frustrating due to connection issues, lack of dedicated servers, and self inflicted lack of options in terms of loadouts to be competitive.
While highly doubtful, I would be a very, very happy person. I was thinking maybe it would work in a home network streaming sort of way, with Xbox and playstation getting apps for the streaming of games to either console. You would need to still own an nx, but say your friends are on ps4 and you want to chat with them while playing some dk, just stream it and stay in your party, using your ds4. I would love if Nintendo goes with a more tradition console this round, something a little more powerful that ps4/x1, to reflect how late it's coming in the cycle, and re establish its spot among multiplats. That is literally my only request for the nx, with a secondary being a more traditional controller as well.
I want to look forward to this I really do. But Ubisoft has become so high on my dissapointed games list that I think I might pass. The last Ubisoft game I found myself enjoying completely was black flag. Far cry 4 was beautiful and fun, especially finally being able to bring a friend into the world, but even that felt just short of greatness, mainly that once I spent hours in my friends world, doing things together, then finding I had to do it all over again in my world was heartbreaking. If preordering on Amazon gets me beta access I will do it, and hopefully it impresses me. I want it to, badly, but just can't ignor the Ubisoft part of it.
Grabbed metro redux, have never played the metro games but hear great things. For $9 Why not. Was tempted by project cars digital and inquisition, but I've got both on disc. Plus I'm still waiting for the whole 24hr lemans with your friends thing they mentioned prior to launch. Was a big selling point for a few of my friends and I to have a true 24hr lemans or get a team going and each of us take shifts which it had also sounded like in interviews was possible.
I will be very, very surprised if we hear nothing about next gen at e3 2018. This gen was built around a simplified architecture mainly to help simplify and speed up development, but also I think so they can release new gen at a quicker clip. The big however though, comes down to making the next gen fully bc with ps4/x1, a failure to do that by either company could be a massive misstep. Essentially I think we could start seeing a more pc type release, games with minimum req being ps4/x1, but designed for ps5/x2. Fine by me personally.
Between this and the witness later this month, along with finally playing the talos principle (seriously, how did I not buy that before it was on sale. So unbelievably good and challenging) I'm in indie heaven while also for some reason on a hardcore destiny grind now that I've taken a break from fallout.
When I do use it which is admittedly rare, my top played would be atmosphere, old coldplay (parachutes album mostly), Adele (yea I know, but that voice is sublime), old chili peppers, beatles, stp, Alice n chains, eminem, and I hate to admit it but a bit of the game circa 05/06, and lil Wayne off the Carter iii. Odd mix I know, and I could throw in mumford and sons, jacks mannequin, death cab, radiohead, and snow patrol depending on the mood.
@MastStickBoy I personally do because of how much elder scrolls means to me. I will never forget when my stepfather introduced me to daggerfall, and ever since then I have been so wrapped up in it it's not funny. The soundtracks, the worlds, everything just speaks to me. Its the only series that I've ever gotten hopelessly wrapped up in the lore, and that includes any medium. For some people it's star wars, halo, ff, Harry potter or game of thrones, for me it's elder scrolls. Just for some reason how I am. They could re release elder scrolls on ps4 or mass effect trilogy, and there's a 99% chance for the rest of the year I would play nothing else but those even though I also have them on pc. Just how I'm wired I guess.
@wagleton right around there. I'm not aware of the exchange rate, but I know your talking something like this just to meet minimum req $200 cpu i5 minimum $70 cheap Intel mobo but it's gotta have 3 3.0 usb minimum $60 12gb ram Figure hd is cheapest 30-120 depending what you want Gtx 970 or r9 290 I think is req $300 Your going to want what, a 700 watt psu? $60 That's $660 roughly, but can be oh so much more.
I think $299 is it's magical price point, but I believe 399 is going to be the price based on previous comments about how we should expect to pay a new console price (if memory is right, ps4 was still 399 when that was said). As I've stated, regardless of price (unless it's 5-600) I'm preordering the moment I can because I will get a ton of use out of it, vr or no vr. The rifts price is not much of a surprise, I mean the systems required to take advantage of it are going to have components in them that are the same price or more. For instance, my $700 rig isn't going to even think about vr. Not happening. Once I drop another 2-300 in it sure, but not until then.
@get2sammyb blasphemy I say! Mass effect trilogy is probably second to elder scrolls in my most recent gaming memory for best series. I must see gameplay soon. Preferably later today would be nice.
Even the year ps4 was announced I watched ces hoping for anymore info, and got only smart bands, tvs, phone stuff. Its not exactly a gamers conference more so a tech lovers conference. Its fun to see some stuff, but it's also sad to see things companies spend millions on that you can tell watching is just going to flat out tank. Sadly Sony's phones are absolutely brilliant, but lack of marketing especially here in the states has kept them from taking the space they easily could have occupied prior to LG in the market. Only reason I have a g3 instead of a Xperia is Verizon when I upgraded had literally none and would have had to wait for a shipment. I remember the guys face when I walked in and said I wanted the z3v. He clearly knew nothing and pointed me to the droid or galaxy. Had to speak with a manager. But anyway, no matter what Il be keeping an eye on ces tonight.
This is my major gripe about psn. Not that it goes down, that you rarely get any information. A simple "hello all, having issues signing in? We are aware and our engineers are working getting you back online asap" tweet is not hard. A lot of the stuff you hear and read is people just confused as to whether it's them or psn and why. Not asking for minute by minute updates, just an acknowledgment of the issue, and a statement that it's being worked on would be nice.
After being told it has a theater mode for non be titles, it's a day one purchase for me. That option alone will get countless hours of use from me, even if vr flops
I will be so surprised if it's coming out this year still. Spring 2017 is my guess just from how incredibly little we have seen of it. Like said, I just hope this means his contract was fullfilled, not that there is trouble brewing. Me is an All time favorite series for me, with the trilogy getting a twice a year complete play through, please let it be good.
Gotta be divinity for me. I loved the witcher, and it's goty imo for its brilliance, but after playing it a while, I noticed my game time played was approaching 7 days. I then looked at the map, and the 2 areas I had yet to touch, and my map which was still jam packed with things to do and it was like a mental shutdown. That was maybe a month after release, maybe less because I took a 10 day vacation to coincide with witchers release. Since then I'm lucky to get 10 minutes in a week just because of how overwhelmed I got. My most enjoyed is a toss up between divinity and until dawn. Until dawn I expected just to be so terrible but in that campy b movie way that you enjoy and man it surprised the hell out of me.
@kyleforrester87 that stinks to hear. I don't think I've played anything he scored other than original sin, but it ranks up there in my top 5 or so with morrowind, skyrim, mass effect, as an all time favorite.
@Melucine I've been a huge fan of the divinity soundtrack since I started it on pc. A big selling point (other than how brilliant it is of course) of buying it on ps4 was that soundtrack. Like @kyleforrester87 said the combat music is repetitive but in its defense it always has spurned me on to the next fight for some reason.
Doesn't matter. They lost mine, and others I know money because of the decision. Of the reboot had been exclusive I would have had no issues, but taking a sequel to an ongoing franchise, and making it exclusive is a dirty tactic. If this had been a success I just think of what's next. A company could feasibly just dump money to eliminate a competitor and secure exclusive time periods on big releases. I love tomb raider, I thought the reboot was brilliant, but square isn't seeing a dime of my money for quite some time.
@DESS-M-8 oh I also think it will wind up being a fad similar to 3d or motion gaming.obviously won't sell like motion gaming, for precisely the reason you mention. Its why I think hololense has more potential in terms of broadcasting the environment around your room. Even that however won't truly latch until it hits a point where without the need of wear. You are able to interact with what's broadcast in your room, say when giving squad members directions, you are just pointing an arm to where you want them. Its one of the reasons finding out psvr has a theater mode is a big deal for me. Not sure what you mean by the knack comment though, at least in the US knack was never free, may have been bundled in but not when I bought either of my ps4. I can account for a few copies though as I think it's a fun game and grabbed a few copies for younger relatives.
@DESS-M-8 oh I just think certain fps would be great on a vr headset just being used as a screen for the most part. I think of the destiny hud, and how it's curved like it's meant for a curved screen, or horrors like outlast or pt. Plus it would give the vr a bit more usage when not playing a vr game. I'll tell you what, I'm really looking forward to rigs though.
I'm looking forward to vr, I'm hoping though that the psvr will have the ability to also just be used as a screen in non vr games as well mostly any fist person capable game.
Absolutely loved this game, found it incredibly interesting, and it's beauty/ build up really hit it's Mark. Sadly though, I do take points off because of how brutally slow movement was. There were instances where I had to choose between advancing, or backtracking to areas I saw I missed, and choosing to advance solely because I knew it was a 20 minute walk back, then another 10-15 minutes investigating, followed by a 20 minute walk back to where I was. I completely understood their decision on the movement speed, but the game would still be on my console, getting multiple playthroughs had I simply been able to Sprint at a proper speed after completing the game once. Nevertheless it's an amazing story, a beautifully developed game, and great soundtrack. Solid choice folks.

Re: Nintendo's NX Probably Won't Be Compatible with the PS4
Re: Sony Marks PlayStation Plus' Five Year Anniversary with Stats Plaques for Lifers
Europe only? Dang. Though surely I would be unable to get it because of a lapse of a day or so here and there. Still nifty though.
Re: Put the Gloves Back On in Kung Fury: Street Rage's Huge New PS4 Update
Greatest. Game. Ever. Also, greatest Netflix title ever. Grabbed it because it was $3 or something, just absolutely wonderful.
Re: You Can Finally Play The Division Thanks to This Month's Beta
Re: PS4 Essentials Go Cheap in NA PlayStation Store Sale
Grabbed metro redux, have never played the metro games but hear great things. For $9 Why not. Was tempted by project cars digital and inquisition, but I've got both on disc. Plus I'm still waiting for the whole 24hr lemans with your friends thing they mentioned prior to launch. Was a big selling point for a few of my friends and I to have a true 24hr lemans or get a team going and each of us take shifts which it had also sounded like in interviews was possible.
Re: PS5 Could Launch as Early as 2019, Reckons Analyst
I will be very, very surprised if we hear nothing about next gen at e3 2018. This gen was built around a simplified architecture mainly to help simplify and speed up development, but also I think so they can release new gen at a quicker clip. The big however though, comes down to making the next gen fully bc with ps4/x1, a failure to do that by either company could be a massive misstep. Essentially I think we could start seeing a more pc type release, games with minimum req being ps4/x1, but designed for ps5/x2. Fine by me personally.
Re: Promising PS4 Title Firewatch Will Last Five to Six Hours
Between this and the witness later this month, along with finally playing the talos principle (seriously, how did I not buy that before it was on sale. So unbelievably good and challenging) I'm in indie heaven while also for some reason on a hardcore destiny grind now that I've taken a break from fallout.
Re: PS4 Owners Have Terribad Music Taste
When I do use it which is admittedly rare, my top played would be atmosphere, old coldplay (parachutes album mostly), Adele (yea I know, but that voice is sublime), old chili peppers, beatles, stp, Alice n chains, eminem, and I hate to admit it but a bit of the game circa 05/06, and lil Wayne off the Carter iii. Odd mix I know, and I could throw in mumford and sons, jacks mannequin, death cab, radiohead, and snow patrol depending on the mood.
Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda Is in a Playable Form Right Now
@MastStickBoy I personally do because of how much elder scrolls means to me.
Re: Reaction: Oculus Rift's $599 Price Is Positive News for PlayStation VR
@wagleton right around there. I'm not aware of the exchange rate, but I know your talking something like this just to meet minimum req
$200 cpu i5 minimum
$70 cheap Intel mobo but it's gotta have 3 3.0 usb minimum
$60 12gb ram
Figure hd is cheapest 30-120 depending what you want
Gtx 970 or r9 290 I think is req $300
Your going to want what, a 700 watt psu? $60
That's $660 roughly, but can be oh so much more.
Re: Reaction: Oculus Rift's $599 Price Is Positive News for PlayStation VR
Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda Is in a Playable Form Right Now
@get2sammyb blasphemy I say! Mass effect trilogy is probably second to elder scrolls in my most recent gaming memory for best series. I must see gameplay soon. Preferably later today would be nice.
Re: Guide: What Time Does Sony's CES 2016 Press Conference Start?
Re: PSN Down Just Days into 2016
This is my major gripe about psn.
Re: 2016 Is the Year of VR, Says Sony London Producer
After being told it has a theater mode for non be titles, it's a day one purchase for me. That option alone will get countless hours of use from me, even if vr flops
Re: Key BioWare Developer Leaves Mass Effect: Andromeda
I will be so surprised if it's coming out this year still. Spring 2017 is my guess just from how incredibly little we have seen of it. Like said, I just hope this means his contract was fullfilled, not that there is trouble brewing. Me is an All time favorite series for me, with the trilogy getting a twice a year complete play through, please let it be good.
Re: Game of the Year: What's Your Favourite PlayStation Game of 2015?
Re: Here's to an Amazing 2016 on Push Square
Happy New year to everyone. Best site I stumbled upon trying to devour any and all ps4 rumors prior to announcement.
Re: Feature: The Best PlayStation Soundtracks of 2015
@kyleforrester87 that stinks to hear. I don't think I've played anything he scored other than original sin, but it ranks up there in my top 5 or so with morrowind, skyrim, mass effect, as an all time favorite.
Re: Feature: The Best PlayStation Soundtracks of 2015
@Melucine I've been a huge fan of the divinity soundtrack since I started it on pc. A big selling point (other than how brilliant it is of course) of buying it on ps4 was that soundtrack. Like @kyleforrester87 said the combat music is repetitive but in its defense it always has spurned me on to the next fight for some reason.
Re: Could Rise of the Tomb Raider Plunder PS4 Earlier Than Expected?
Doesn't matter. They lost mine, and others I know money because of the decision. Of the reboot had been exclusive I would have had no issues, but taking a sequel to an ongoing franchise, and making it exclusive is a dirty tactic. If this had been a success I just think of what's next. A company could feasibly just dump money to eliminate a competitor and secure exclusive time periods on big releases. I love tomb raider, I thought the reboot was brilliant, but square isn't seeing a dime of my money for quite some time.
Re: Soapbox: Why PlayStation VR Has Me Cautiously Optimistic
Re: Soapbox: Why PlayStation VR Has Me Cautiously Optimistic
@SonyInfinity awesome thank you. Pretty much confirms day one purchase for me.
Re: Soapbox: Why PlayStation VR Has Me Cautiously Optimistic
@DESS-M-8 oh I just think certain fps would be great on a vr headset just being used as a screen for the most part. I think of the destiny hud, and how it's curved like it's meant for a curved screen, or horrors like outlast or pt. Plus it would give the vr a bit more usage when not playing a vr game. I'll tell you what, I'm really looking forward to rigs though.
Re: Soapbox: Why PlayStation VR Has Me Cautiously Optimistic
I'm looking forward to vr, I'm hoping though that the psvr will have the ability to also just be used as a screen in non vr games as well mostly any fist person capable game.
Re: PS4 Games Feel Festive Cheer in NA PlayStation Store Flash Sale
I know the reviews are not great, but for $25 I'm giving the new nfs a shot.
Re: Game of the Year: #9 - Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (PS4)
Re: Gigantic EU PS4, Vita January PlayStation Store Sale Will Empty Your Wallet
@FullbringIchigo strongly recommend it. Well done remaster even if you've already played it on ps3 or 360, it's well worth picking up again
