I've been following this since the moment it was announced and it's somehow looking even better now than it did back then, I am literally shaking with excitement for this one, absolutely cannot wait for it to come out!
Also, fun fact: the main producer/art director for this is James Turner, better known for his work as an art director/creature designer for Pokemon!
Visually stunning and the new abilities look insanely cool, though the emphasis on cutscenes in this showing specifically is a tad concerning. Most likely won't be an issue when the game releases though so yeah: Spidey 2's looking RAD B)
Funnily enough, this was the announcement of the show for me. I've been wanting a way to readily play these games for ages on modern consoles and this looks to be exactly what I've been looking for, absolutely ecstatic! Only little worry at the moment is that it seems to be PS5 exclusive right now (seems a bit odd to make a collection like this and not also release on PS4, no?).
It's the thing everyone saw coming but by god it looks cool. Very excited for this (though I'm not gonna lie: that new collection is infinitely more interesting to me XD).
If this was a State of Play I think I would've been able to forgive it a bit more. But as a PS Showcase? ....yeah this one wasn't great. Definitely stuff I liked (Plucky Squire, Sword in the Sea, MGS3 Remake, Spidey 2) but there wasn't really much we didn't know about beforehand, even some of the really cool stuff like Dragon's Dogma 2, and a lot of it just DRAGGED (WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THAT GRAN TURISMO AD).
I'm probably not in too much of a position to speak on this given how much of a Nintendo fanboy I am, but this feels like PS3-era levels of arrogance to me.
Like, don't get me wrong: they're doing VERY well, both financially AND critically. But saying Nintendo is behind when they've essentially outsold them in the charts for the past half-decade?
Pretty much everything I've heard about this game has been in relation to development hell (something that seems to be a worrying trend with Ubisoft games lately) so this is probably for the best. It gives me time to potentially experience the series this is hailing from beforehand so I'm not gonna complain too much myself.
@Sam_ATLUS Far Cry's been plodding along relatively consistently for the past few years in addition to what you've mentioned. In terms of other series though? Yeah, not too much there π¬
The Sly Cooper results are insanely depressing, people have ZERO faith π€£π
As I've said previously, I've not really got much expectations for this presentation myself (would rather let myself be pleasantly surprised by what appears ) but I would like to see something with Uncharted given that I'm thinking about starting the series for the first time over the summer (I think it's unlikely given that TLOU....exists, BUT LET ME HAVE THIS).
also obligatory Bloodborne port/remaster mention (it's gonna happen this time I swear)
PS Showcases are always a great night in for me so I'll gladly be tuning in! (especially when this is my first one as a part of the Push Square community)!
Don't have any particular thing I desperately want to see from this myself, though it'd be cool if those Konami rumours surrounding Metal Gear and Castlevania being shown in a broadcast like this end up being true
Geez, @ShogunRok you are putting in some mad work if you're doing each of these individually XD
I'm pretty intrigued by these remasters as someone who's never played any of them before (or rather an FF game period) so time will tell whether I only go for the ones I'm interested in or all of them at once with that bundle. Nice to see the ports stack up well though!
Unquestionably one of the most pivotal 'game creation' games of all-time; a shame to see support ending but, considering the legacy they've left behind, I'm excited to see what Media Molecule has cooking up next!
So you're telling me these two will have movies made by the same company?
Can't say I'm not intrigued though: the original live-action SF movies are campy as all hell but still pretty enjoyable watches (M. Bison ESPECIALLY) so, with the recent trend of video game movies actually being respectful to the source material, I think this has a fair shot at actually being decent.
That being said, if Sakura's not in it, it's dead to me
For as much as I'd love a Code Veronica remake myself (especially with how shafted it got with the release of RE3/4R), I feel like out of the two options here....yeah it's gotta be Dino Crisis. While I definitely believe Exoprimal is meant to be a spiritual successor (especially with THAT character design), DC is a hallmark of the PS1 and it's hard to deny there being a game truly like it so a remake to let more people enjoy it would be highly appreciated imo ^_^
Geez that sounds absolutely brutal. Could you IMAGINE if they tried 100%-ing each game before moving onto the next one as well? I feel like that'd be enough to kill a man.
No offense to the people involved since they seem lovely, but saying your title has 'streamer involvement' before release makes me feel like it's just going to be scientifically geared towards a streaming crowd without much substance for anyone else.
How Capcom keep managing to one-up themselves in terms of their releases I will never know but I for one am not complaining in the slightest, absolutely incredible!
I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt right now since Capcom's actually pretty decent with live-service games as of late (Monster Hunter comes to mind for me) but after Suicide Squad's mess? Yeahhhh, people are definitely gonna be wary about this one.
This is easily my most anticipated release of 2023. I've wanted to play Ghost Trick for years (especially after falling in love with Ace Attorney) and being able to both play it on the big screen and in HD? It's genuinely a dream come true, I'm so happy right now.
AND WE GET REMASTERED TRACKS BY BOTH KITAGAWA AND SUGIMORI?! I'M GOING THE WAY OF SISSEL FOLKS SOMEONE SAVE ME.
I swear, it's ALWAYS Capcom who manages to carry these shows. Resident Evil 4 Remake, Street Fighter 6, they are simply incapable of missing as of late. AND LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT GHOST TRICK PHANTOM DETECTIVE COMING IN SUMMER 2023-
State of Play's seem to range from 'absolute god-sends' to 'damningly mediocre' and tonight's show very much leaned closer to the latter than the former. Nothing I'd call outright bad mind you, just a whole lot of....OK. And having that Suicide Squad reel be the closer? An odd decision for sure.
Then again I got my Cammy Trailer so that automatically makes this a 10/10.
Despite the March lineup being pretty meh all things considered, the overall package is pretty solid: Tchia on release date (getting major Stray flashbacks) and the Uncharted Collection are pretty good nabs if you ask me!
This was the announcement of the show for me. I've been waiting to see Cammy in-game ever since TGS showed off her artwork and good lord did they not disappoint. Zangief and Lily look cool too, but I'm definitely considering picking Cammy up as a main whenever I get SF6, I adore her new design!
Other than hoping for a game that'll never come, I'm predicting a bunch of oddball indies this time round for both regular PS and VR2. Humanity seems to be something in line for this SoP and I could definitely see some kooky VR games in the style of Job Simultar, Trover Saves the Universe, etc. as well. Looking forward to a cosy night in tonight!
Well you certainly can't say he didn't go out with a bang.
My guess is that he'll either hop on over to another studio entirely (he seems to like doing that based off of his track record) or just full on retire. Regardless of what he chooses, he's a legendary game developer that deserves all the praise he's been given!
The way that headline is structured sounds very passive aggressive (like: GET OUT! REALLY!?!?!) XD
This does sound very interesting though: I've always been a fan of watching licensed horror games on Youtube (too much of a wuss to play them myself) and the movies these could pull from have a ton of potential for interesting gameplay. Colour me intrigued to say the least!
I suppose live service games ultimately depend on whether or not they make a good first impression. There are times where this doesn't matter (see Destiny) but how many live service titles have you seen that completely fizzle out after a month or two due to a lack of marketing, content or both specifically at the start? Roller Champions, Destruction All Stars, Babylon's Fall (....OK tbf there was no saving BF but you know what I mean): all live service titles with either little to no marketing past the reveal that ended up feeling barebones when they eventually released.
Do I think Sony's going to backpedal on their 'bajillion live service games'? HELL NO. But it'll certainly be interesting to see how they go about showing them off in the wake of these shutdowns.
I always imagined Hogwarts Legacy as being a decent to good game with a metric truck ton of controversy and, based on what I've been hearing the past few days....yeah that seems to check out. Not interested in it myself (never been into HP outside of Fantastic Beasts funnily enough) but it's nice to see that it's a good game.
