What do you get when you throw Final Fantasy, Nier Automata, Scavenger’s Reign and Shart into a blender? One of my most anticipated games of 2025, apparently!
I guess they realised no one would buy the Quidditch game, so decided to force it on us. More money to fund the witch going slowly insane from black mould to boot. Aside from that, an alright selection, Little Nightnares 2 will be fun!
Lots of fun without pushing the boat out is much appreciated these days - give me something I can jump in and out of after a hard days work and I’m sold. And maybe old. And, if I may be so bold, not short of the gold this side of the month
Looks like good, classic action adventure combat with nifty fantasy spells. As long as we get plenty of character building, dialogue choices and interesting worlds to explore im down.
My only concern is with all the combat shown it turns into a corridor action brawler, but hopefully they’re just showing off the exciting part. A 10 minute video of two characters talking isn’t going to win over the undecided.
I’m only interested if it has a robust fishing minigame. Preferably from horseback. I’ll accept hot air balloon racing instead. They were in the teaser I think.
Yeah it looks fun! GoW meets Darksiders, hopefully the story and atmosphere can set it apart, but looks a perfectly fun palette cleanser at the moment.
This looks interesting, and potentially the power coukd lead to great narrative whiplash. Seems to tie in a little with the comics too, but I expect more incidentally.
I do hope we see some of Max’s old character in the full game, the characters are what make the games, and it would be a shame if it brushes over it all.
Definitely peaked my interest! I’d like to hear how the story and mechanics are before I dive in, could be great, or could be a great idea executed unexcitingly.
Consistently looking terrific, really excited for this one - this and seeing Max Caulfield return has made the incoming winter a little less utter bollocks
I didn’t realise it was a live action gatcha game, bit of a turn-off but if there’s plenty to do without spending more than a regular game it could be lovely!
It looks fantastic, I’m playing through ‘RoboCop: Rogue City’ and looks like it’ll be a similar ride - fantastic fun with a pulpy story (maybe less of a sense of humour). I’ll be keeping an eye out for the review
Literally just remove Vanille or her absolutely, unrelentingly, hauntingly horrific voice from the game and I’m sold. The rest I grew to enjoy as a deviation, but my god…that voice…it still sends shivers down my spine and pain rings through my ears just thinking about it.
I like horror games but I’m universally terrible at them, how’s the difficulty on this - are you likely to be dying and replaying long sections regularly if you’re not amazingly effective under terror?
I don’t have a problem with this IF my companions aren’t absolute I’m imbeciles, getting stuck in corners or on ledges. I feel like they’re putting more weight on the AI with this, but happy to see, it’s not something I’ve ever cared about myself.
I forgot about this! It did look promising, especially with Michel Ancel’s involvement, it’s like he’s cursed to see his games crushed for eternity, unless it’s Rayman-related. Definitely a pact with a genie.
@Highlar completely agree, it usually costs less than a standard night out and keeps me entertained for at least a couple weeks, so tend to be good value. I might give it a spin if it’s cheap
Still not sold on Max’s design - obviously she’s not a teenager so will look different, but I don’t know anyone who changed THAT much in like under 10 years.
However, it’ll be down to personality and story in the end, I’m looking forward to it, and interested to see if the comics will be tied in. I’m not paying £75 for some T-shirts though.
Great news! I loved the second game, the exploration, story, atmosphere. The third game I didn’t enjoy as much, they dropped the more exploration-leaning gameplay, hopefully that’ll make a return
Frog-like game, to me, has several potential meanings:
like Frogger - platforming with navigating a shifting environment
a predominantly green colour palette
as frogs are able to breath through skin, in essence, and must therefore be handled with care, perhaps the world will be delicate and liable to big repercussions from small actions
including both land and water based dynamics
characters will have very long tongues, which will be used as a way to recover lost health
I have no idea what that means and it both confounds and delights me they used it so casually and innocently in a press release despite no one having a clue wtf it means
I’ve poured countless hours into this, well, actually countable as it’s on Steam - over 200. Each run you can always find new and fun strategies, the difficulty settings help you ramp up and keep things interesting, and each faction is really unique and fun to play with. On top of that near every run you’re unlocking something new and permanent.
I’d even say I prefer it over Slay the Spire as one of the best roguelites I’ve played, and with someone with a ***** Laptop that can’t handle much, I’ve played a lot.
This looks like one of those dumb games you pick up for a laugh then end up an emotional mess over because the storylines hit so damn hard out of nowhere. Yes, Hatoful Boyfriend, I’m looking at you.
This will definitely be picked up and fed into the Q-anon bollocks - the Trump gang are already desperately scrambling for anything they can use against her (also ***** the wannabe orange dictator)
I was trying to remember this game’s name the other day - great to hear we’ll see a little more of it soon, it looked like something pretty special. A game focused on being as much fun as possible, with real care and attention to the world to boot.
I remember seeing this, never played the game but Holy Capitalism, Batman.
Maybe don’t include terrible vanity projects from the man that tanked Twitter in a day, was sued for calling a man a pedophile whilst throwing a hissy fit, and is generally a terrible Union-busting employer.
I don’t envy any developer facing the combined forces of a Star Wars gamer fanbase - you’re always going to have to put up with a lot of harsh criticism. But if I can make my own character and pew-pew some aliens and speed around in a vroomy vehicle I’ll be happy enough.
I had the urge to return to this recently. Somehow my dog is the sole party member that’s ended up in jail after a critical fail on a roll. Not many games will just throw the unexpected at you on every playthrough.
I enjoyed the demo but not enough to dive into it. I think I’ll wait for the inevitable PS+ drop, or a discount. I wanted to like it more than I did, but I’m Sure I’ll be in the mood sometime for it
I’m just excited I can put the console into rest mode without it freaking so hard you need to unplug it from the wall and TV to fix. That was a fun launch quirk that lasted a year or two.
I’ll reserve judgement until we see how it plays out, but hopefully there will be some depth and moral ambiguity in characters, story and choice still.
I’ve put in like 30 hours and spent £0.00 on it, so, like, I’m happy. I’m sure I’ll get bored at some point, but if it doesn’t cost me a penny nothing to complain about, and every day if you put in an hour or so you’ll get a few free pulls on the gatcha
@Mikey856 important thing to note, not sure if others have said, is that was 50 million across multiple consoles, PC AND, most importantly, mobile.
The game is a lot of fun by itself, lots of mini games and the combat is snappy and fun, if button-mashy. But if you don’t like anime it’ll probably lose a lot of its appeal, in art style and cutscenes.
But its also free, so a lot of people will be downloading it just to try it out.
I’ve never dug into the Trails series, despite being an avid JRPG fan. I felt I’d missed the boat and would have too many games to play before the latest - but looks like I can finally hop in and see what the fuss is all about!
I’m tempted to start my first gatcha addictio-…game. BUT my internet is atrocious. I’m guessing this is an ‘always online’ game, with no offline option?

@ShogunRok great review, thanks! Just wondering how long roughly the game is, or how long it took you to complete at least?

@ApostateMage absolutely no argument, he is! I was thinking more the slimy OCP suits, not The Old Man, maybe Chip.
Re: Embracer CEO Says PC, Console Segment the 'Bad Guy', Video Games a 'Volatile' Business
He’s such a token RoboCop villain. If you think it’s too volatile, maybe don’t keep buying studios and closing them before they’ve released a game.

I’ve just started a resist dark urge playthrough, and loving it - it’s an incredible mix of laugh out loud dark humour and really shocking twists.
I’ll give an evil dark urge run a go when this updates drops, I’m not sure how much girth he’ll have, mind.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 25

Also why isn’t the correct answer for Question 10 not “JRPG Rhythm Stealth Wrestling Dog-Piss-Simulator”?

For sone reason giving me strong ‘The Lost Odyssey’ vibes, maybe we’ll see what that game promised in its opening fully developed.
