@Snake_V5 I haven't played the full game, but got the plat on Nioh, and played a few Ninja Gaiden games in the past- this is certainly the easiest of the 3!

@thechetearly You're right, all they need to do is make it half the size- barely been enough games that actually feel "next gen" to warrant a new pro console.

@Manboi16 I was just thinking the same... the animations are cool, and facially look more 'real' than ever, but at the same time, their expressions are almost more cartoonish, and with the muscular 3d models, reminded me of the way street fighter does cartoon characters 'realistically'... maybe we'll eventually see tekken x SF, after all!

@invictus4000 if you have a ds4, it should connect to your phone just in the same way, (Bluetooth on, push the 'share' and 'ps' button together till the controller flashes) and so long as you aren't trying to play actual ps5 games, the controller should support them?

I'd think a 9 is a little high. It's good, but doesn't really do too much to differentiate it from previous entries (Nioh, I mean). A solid 8, which is in no way a bad score, but not fresh enough (in my eyes) for a 9.

Hmm... Paul's fighting style just looks a bit dull. I swear he used to be better than this? Doesn't even have his signature hair style to make him look more interesting!

But did they make it so completion trophies aren't locked behind single player? Most confusing decision ever...

Looks good. I like the wafty way he waves his arms as he walks (a lot of 'w's there), but probably not for me.

@ShogunRok better this honest (albeit busted) reflection than, for example, playing God of War on 'give me God of War' difficulty, thinking Kratos is the biggest baddest guy in the whole Greek pantheon, only to come to Denmark and get slapped and killed by a nameless draugr in 2 hits.... 😱

@RemembersGems All of this! Such a great game and totally unlike any other fighter out there. I would do something similar, playing as Cooler, and transform for every fight. And if I lost a match- oh well- he'd have his spaceship come resurrect him into metal cooler and I'd surprise my friends with an extra life! Superb.

Tenkaichi 3 was one of my favourite fighting games back in the day- a huge roster (admittedly, not always perfectly balanced, but great nonetheless!) And so many great mid-game/ fight mechanics. I hope they bring this all back, plus the customisation and rpg aspect, rather than just 10 different Goku forms. Let us transform mid-match!

Such a useless waste, they should have just given this stuff to children for free.

Ooof! Yet to beat the REmake2, but this is the game that really cemented my love for the series. Gonna have to pick it up- also, can't wait for a ps5 remake of resi 5!

@burning_as_souls I felt the 2nd boss phase was a bit of a joke, but the 2nd level of the demo was considerably easier! I think the real key is that they're trying to plug the necessity of learning when and how to parry- after using it a few times to counter, the boss went down pretty quick.
Otherwise, it's a bit of a dance of using quick attacks (square) to power up your martial arts (r1 + square) and using power attacks (triangle) to lower the enemy stamina bar.
More sekiro, in a way, than souls.

Jin's moveset looks a bit reminiscent of Lars', with all the flips and somersaults. And whatever happened to Lars? Wasn't he pegged to be like a new protagonist in a past title? Seems he's been swept under the rug since! All very Final Fantasy with that 1 wing, too!

@WallyWest Except for Paul's rivalry with a grizzly bear, that just so happens to be Heihachi's personal bodyguard, whom he once (non-canonically) blasted into space on a giant rocket, along with 2 generations of his own family. And why does he even need a bodyguard?! The dude literally has electricity charging through his hands and can punch through robots...

Reminds me of FF Crystal Chronicles. Nothing too groundbreaking, but it looks like it could be fun with some friends to play locally.

After the let down of Arkham Knights- a possibly fun game, but not really what people wanted- this just looks like an even further step in the wrong direction, aping the live service model that people are increasingly falling away from. They pioneered a great combat system, and then they give us lots of jumping and shooting...

@NinjaNicky the champions games were fantastic, and I've also eagerly awaited a more modern conpetitor- hoping diablo 4 will fill that gap!

@NinjaNicky the ps2 re-releases are hack and slash games (dark alliance 1 and 2), this is more of your pc style, top down, strategy type rpg with either real time and pause, or turn taking. More like the original dragon age game, than DA inquisition, if you will.

Talk about fan(g) appeal 😉

@Shstrick It's all about 'symphony of the night', unless you wanna go real retro, in which case, I'd say 'rondo of blood'.
You get both with the castlevania collection on ps store!
Note- when I say 'retro', that means difficult, as well as old, hidden, mechanics that are barely explained. (But much can be found online, if needed!)

@torne you mean you don't want a, always online, games-as-a-service model Castlevania title, with daily challenge updates and an online store where you can spend real money to buy new colours for your cape, or potentially, a monster skin to play as, while other players interfere with your character and impede your progress by dropping annoying messages or dancing in front of doors and checkpoints?

@Nakatomi_Uk That's smart. I have a few ps 1, 2 and 3 games that i bought on ps3, that I'd still like to have on my ps5, but without either of the last 2 consoles, it's like they'll fade to nothing! Ps3 was a beast! For all it's problems, still one of the best console generations, in my humble opinion.

@sanderson72 Aah yeah... I remember when SOE was a thing! They put out some solid action rpg games back in the day. The only other real diablo competitor in my eyes. Sadly missed!

Kazuya is, and always was, my go-to guy in tekken. Glad to see his devil form is getting more use and implementation! But also, a little sad to see some of the simplicity replaced with all these crazy new gimmicks and things- the purist that I am 🥲

@Cutmastavictory Such a good game! I'd take that, and the sequel (or was it prequel?) over the latest Baldurs gate re-releases.

I'm sure it'll do fine, but it seems like one of those games where there'll be a pretty steep drop in the player base soon. I'd rather play monster hunter, but points to them for including cross platform play!

The game is fun, but they've really messed up with not having timely drops for new characters, or implementing a lot of local and online features, like playing against friends and ai, or being able to play locally with a friend as a team online. It shouldn't be hard to do, and seems like a half-year-long missed opportunity that's had an impact.

Regardless of controversies, I've never been taken I'm by the supposed charms of HP and have little interest in this game. A bit tired of open world games, in general, and what I've seen of this hasn't convinced me otherwise!

@JP80 Yup. And with Rise at half the price on release... to be honest, I'm happy to stick to World, still!

The price of this in shops has been fluctuating madly: £30 on pc, £40 in some stores, £50 in others and £60-70 online. Every one has criticised the sometimes shoddy script writing, and the graphics look last gen at best. I'm keen to grab it for 40 quid, when it's more widely available at that price, but for anything more, seems a bit of a joke.

I'm hankering to play this, so will give the demo a go when it's out! Intend to do a coop run with a friend, who's going in blind, but I've noticed that there's always a few surprises in the final release, compared to the demo, so I'm expecting to get thoroughly slapped still!

@Nightcrawler71 the game is now free to play anyway, so you can download it at no cost- this isn't the latest expansion, but will effectively let you play somewhat past the base gane and dip your toes into whatever comes after.... I can't say how far, as I dropped off from D2 a while back!
