I finished Scarlet Nexus a couple of months ago. It's fantastic- the combat is superb. Make sure you play the campaign twice as both characters

I've bought far too many games over the last week but I've got the weekend off so will be diving into Elden Ring all Sunday with bouts on Grid Legends and HFW which is a stunner
I'm also addicted to Total War Warhammer 3.... these will be my games for the next 8 months I think !

Horizon Forbidden West obvs....superb so far, just started the trek West. Is there a more stunning looking game ?

@PenguinL I've completed it twice on Ps4 and been blitzing this PS5 version. It's never crashed on me once

@Col_McCafferty going by your last posts you seem to.like single player RPG and adventure games eg Mass Effect etc. You'll LOVE Cyberpunk if you let it work its charms on you

@nessisonett agreed. As good as the game was, the story was poor. It was like Fantasy Young Adult novel. Luckily the gameplay shone

Far Cry 6 on PS5 - this is far better than both 4 & 5 which I hated, enjoying it a lot
Starcraft 2 on PC - I must have put around 1500 hours into this, it saps my life. If there are any PC gamers on here, this is a must !
Halo Infinite on Series S - simply the best Halo in a long time, superlative multiplayer ( in terms of its basic form anyway)

@freddquadros it's worth the wait! A slow burner like your typical JRPG but very special. Sure you'll be able to pick it up cheap in a sale soon

Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition on Insanity. Still so addictive and amazing and can't wait to replay the full Trilogy.
Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana - nearing the end of this great RPG
Halo Infinite - the multiplayer is superb and got its hooks in me !

Halo certainly isn't dead, Infinite was the best selling Halo since 3, despite being on GamePass and Halo has nothing to do with Bungie now anyway !

@Snake_V5 the Halo IP is owned by Microsoft. It will never come to playstation

@Salt_AU ..washed up IPs ?? CoD Vanguard was the biggest selling game of last year, not to mention the yet to come hundreds of millions from microtransactions. World of Warcraft has 8m players paying £9 per month still....any publisher would be happy to have them. Plus I'd bet MS have big plans for revitalising all the other IPs. And I'd put my house on WoW coming to consoles for MS to combat FF14

Carrying on with Returnal which is superb ! Hard but astonishing. Got past the 3rd area and its getting a little easier with the upgrades.
A bit of Guity Gear Strive online to continue getting thumped online but I love it all the same
Blitzing Destiny 2 as well to clear quests and get loot in time for the Witch Queen expansion. This game is a stunner on PS5

@Cherip-the-Ripper ...yeah - when I started it it on PC a couple of years back I just messed around and then started it again and again until I got a grasp of its systems. Then I became totally addicted!

Fantastic game, very immersive. But it's deep and complex - even the tutorial has a tutorial!

@Col_McCafferty nail hit right on the head there mate. Like you say, some comments leave you aghast 😉. To be fair, I think the EA Star Wars games - Battlefront 2, Squadrons and Fallen Order - have been stellar

To those who say open world games are crap and haven't changed over the years - you clearly haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 or Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild. Open worlds done right.

After all the hype I finally caved in and bought Returnal .....I just fear that I'll be utterly useless at it ha ha. As an older player I'm sure my reactions wont be fast enough but I do do well in multiplayer shooters like CoD etc and beaten all the Souls games so ya never know !
I'm only about 3 hours in so far and all going well. But I know it's gonna kick my arse big time !

Now on what must be 5th playthrough of Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild, a game I'll never tire of playing. It's a masterpiece in open world game design and a lesson to other developers in how to do them. I've been gaming for over 30 yrs and nothing will compare to this game.
Also carrying on cracking Forza Horizon 5
