I think there would not have been any controversy if the Gooners in their basements just shut up about the character design. Then Stellar Blade could have passed under the radar like all eastern games with Waifus and Anime Tiddies.
BloodRayne, Bayonetta, and NieR: Automata would beg to differ on how to become a classic. If Stellar Blade is still worth discussing as time marches, it will be considered a classic. If it gets a sequel, that surpasses what made this game special to its fans, that would also elevate its "classic" status. Stellar Blade will become what it will become.
They did learn...they learned that player pushback is something that they are willing to absorb into their cost/profit structure.
I learned today that McDonalds is not very healthy, so I had to make a decision of risk vs reward and I had a Big Mac anyway.
Its the same thing with Sony. They learned that a portion of the PC community overreacted to a small change in the terms of service and decided that they were willing to put up with it.
The Borderlands movie was the only movie I saw in theatres this summer and it was fun for what it was. At least it got people talking about the franchise again.
I have a feeling it would be because if they did spell it out as a new and improved feature fans would get mad if the upscaling didn't work on every game in the PS4 catalogue. So to avoid the same fallout as the 8K or 120FPS claims on the launch edition box they just quietly rolled it out
Thats what I was talking about in another post. If we want a real comparison for Physical VS Digital show me how many digital copies spider man 2 sold vs physical. Not how much money was made on the PS store vs retail
Push Square is a Playstation fan site...they talk about, guess what, Playstation News. But I have never seen them tell me to go out and buy a PS5 Pro. I also feel they have been appropriately critical of the price and the exclusion of the disc drive. This weird narrative that somehow Push Square is a shill for Sony is quite amusing to me.
When Playstation calculate the numbers what is the formula? Is it Physical vs digital copies sold or do they compare the 2 revenue streams? I am only wondering because those would be vastly different comparisons.
I agree with some people that the gameplay in Ghostwire is lacking, but the atmosphere is fantastic. It's like virtual tourism but with Yokai and evil spirits. Also, it has a fairly easy Platinum
What are you disagreeing with there? I love me some higher frame rates as much as the next person but graphic fidelity can also be very important to immersion and overall enjoyment as well.
For the same reason Bloodborne fanatics have been port begging for that particular game. Whats the point if its just the same game with prettier graphics but no new content?
Doing a quick Google search Sony Corp made 87 billion US last year. 200 million of that is nothing. Think of it this way, you have 87 bucks worth of quarters in your pocket and use 1 quarter to buy a gumball from the gumball machine and it comes out a color you don't like so you throw it away. That's what spending 200 Million is like for these companies.
Even if it was 400 million that would be 2 gumballs thrown in the trash.
No, he means hateful. Criticism is one thing and as we all have an opinion (for better or worse) it should be expressed. What this guy is talking about is threatening messages and hate speech directed at the development team.
Not sure what this one person on X was talking about but I cannot find much "controversy" about the characters on the internet. If anything, they may be upset that Max's girlfriend Chloe did not make it into this game. Anti-Wokers don't care about this game even as much as usual and Pro-Wokers are not even arguing with anyone that is remotely anti-woke so this cannot be the issue. One reviewer said that Max is a snoopy little b**ch and has no respect for anyone's privacy to which a commenter said that is exactly how she was in the first game.
Not sure what we are arguing about here in this comment section but I don't think, the dialogue around this game, is a so-called "culture war" thing.
Give me a unique one-time use code on physical purchases so everyone can collect points. It's unfair that collectors of physical games have been left out of this.
Holy Mackeral you are so bang on with this. Opening the full map every time just to see where I needed to drive my speeder on Akiva was by far the worst part of the whole experience with this game.
I also did not find the stealth to be an issue. The only issue that I have with every AC or Far Cry game is when I'm infiltrating an enemy camp and one stupid mistake causes the ENTIRE area to sniper-shoot me right in the head from across the map.
That's kind of what I said. My point is, that it can be done using patches and hotfixes but the developer needs to have the will and resources to do it and I don't think Ubisoft does. Massive Entertainment might have the WILL but Ubisoft certainly will not finance this beyond 4 or 5 months.
CDPR and Hello Games would disagree with you about how much can be fixed with patches. Both games had fundamental game mechanic problems that were fixed over time and are now considered best in class for their genre. However, I do not think Ubisoft is willing or able to spend that kind of money or time to improve this game to that extent.
I played the game and had a lot of fun while doing so, but some issues should have been addressed before launch. However, none of these issues "broke" the game, as some of the YouTube videos claim. I WISH I could have whistled from behind cover and taken out an entire squad of stormtroopers, alas, this did not work.
If you can't tell the difference now, just wait till you can't tell the difference on a PS5 Pro. (just jokes but I don't know how to do the winky face)
I still cannot believe how many Switch units were sold. That looks like 55,000 Switches and 12,000 of every other system put together...insane! Unless I'm reading that wrong?
Finally, we get to see what the resource-wasting court case between Sony and Microsoft was all about. The fear Sony felt about almost losing this stupid franchise created a panic so large they changed their development cycle to accommodate. Man, do I ever hate Call of Duty!
Anyway, I'll contribute to the problem by playing it on Game Pass.
I want to be part of the conversation on all things gaming but there is a special feeling when you are actively part of the launch day celebrations. I don't know if it's worth 30 bucks to play 3 days early though. Knowing my luck my game would come late and I would have wasted the 30 on nothing.
People are allowed to have wrong opinions and can talk about those opinions wherever they want, it's just nice sometimes not to have to put up with all the silliness.
They can be salty as long as they don't come into the comments with their "hot takes" and "opinions". This game is getting universal acclaim from both critics and fans so whatever they have to say can stay in their head.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Fav Franchise)
Persona 3: Reload (Most Surprising)
Astrobot (Pure Bliss)
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (I didn't think I would but I did)
Zenless Zone Zero (Stopped but had fun at release)
Dungeons of Hinterberg (sneaky little Xbox game lol...)
Star Wars: Outlaws (guilty pleasure)
Metaphor: Refantazio - If from what I played in the demo, professional reviews and early player reaction is any indications this will probably be number one for me as soon as Canada Post gets their finger out of their arse...anyway it's exactly my kind of game.
You have finally done it. All these people saying this for a month, over and over again, on every post about the PS5 Pro, on every comment section across the internet has failed to convince me of PlayStation's folly. Thank YOU for finally saying what needed to be said, again, ad nauseem, forever and ever AMEN.
Miyazaki has made one game over multiple installments. His fan following, which is just because he makes his games hard and inaccessible to most gamers, is the real blind cult following.

I played the PS5 demo. This is where I, get to find out, how much work a development team, can get done in three weeks.
