Re: Astro Bot Sells 1.5 Million PS5 Copies Inside Nine Weeks

MikeOrator

@REALAIS

BloodRayne, Bayonetta, and NieR: Automata would beg to differ on how to become a classic. If Stellar Blade is still worth discussing as time marches, it will be considered a classic. If it gets a sequel, that surpasses what made this game special to its fans, that would also elevate its "classic" status. Stellar Blade will become what it will become.

Re: Sony Boss Says It's 'Learned a Lot' from PC Player Pushback

MikeOrator

@x3King84

They did learn...they learned that player pushback is something that they are willing to absorb into their cost/profit structure.

I learned today that McDonalds is not very healthy, so I had to make a decision of risk vs reward and I had a Big Mac anyway.

Its the same thing with Sony. They learned that a portion of the PC community overreacted to a small change in the terms of service and decided that they were willing to put up with it.

Whats the problem?

Re: Early Tests Reveal How PS5 Pro Improves Your Old PS4 Games

MikeOrator

@MaelysLeFleau

I have a feeling it would be because if they did spell it out as a new and improved feature fans would get mad if the upscaling didn't work on every game in the PS4 catalogue. So to avoid the same fallout as the 8K or 120FPS claims on the launch edition box they just quietly rolled it out

Re: PS5 Pro Packaging Flaunts Its Disc-Free Nature

MikeOrator

@gollumb82

Push Square is a Playstation fan site...they talk about, guess what, Playstation News. But I have never seen them tell me to go out and buy a PS5 Pro. I also feel they have been appropriately critical of the price and the exclusion of the disc drive. This weird narrative that somehow Push Square is a shill for Sony is quite amusing to me.

Re: Concord Cost Sony Over $200 Million, And Didn't Make a Single Cent

MikeOrator

Doing a quick Google search Sony Corp made 87 billion US last year. 200 million of that is nothing. Think of it this way, you have 87 bucks worth of quarters in your pocket and use 1 quarter to buy a gumball from the gumball machine and it comes out a color you don't like so you throw it away. That's what spending 200 Million is like for these companies.

Even if it was 400 million that would be 2 gumballs thrown in the trash.

Re: Don't Nod Dev Pushes Back on 'Hateful' Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Comments

MikeOrator

Not sure what this one person on X was talking about but I cannot find much "controversy" about the characters on the internet. If anything, they may be upset that Max's girlfriend Chloe did not make it into this game. Anti-Wokers don't care about this game even as much as usual and Pro-Wokers are not even arguing with anyone that is remotely anti-woke so this cannot be the issue. One reviewer said that Max is a snoopy little b**ch and has no respect for anyone's privacy to which a commenter said that is exactly how she was in the first game.

Not sure what we are arguing about here in this comment section but I don't think, the dialogue around this game, is a so-called "culture war" thing.

Re: Stealth Issues Still the Focus of Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Patches

MikeOrator

@BookhouseBoy

That's kind of what I said. My point is, that it can be done using patches and hotfixes but the developer needs to have the will and resources to do it and I don't think Ubisoft does. Massive Entertainment might have the WILL but Ubisoft certainly will not finance this beyond 4 or 5 months.

Re: Stealth Issues Still the Focus of Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Patches

MikeOrator

@BookhouseBoy

CDPR and Hello Games would disagree with you about how much can be fixed with patches. Both games had fundamental game mechanic problems that were fixed over time and are now considered best in class for their genre. However, I do not think Ubisoft is willing or able to spend that kind of money or time to improve this game to that extent.

Re: Stealth Issues Still the Focus of Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Patches

MikeOrator

I played the game and had a lot of fun while doing so, but some issues should have been addressed before launch. However, none of these issues "broke" the game, as some of the YouTube videos claim. I WISH I could have whistled from behind cover and taken out an entire squad of stormtroopers, alas, this did not work.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: All Release Times, Pre-Load, and Download Size

MikeOrator

Finally, we get to see what the resource-wasting court case between Sony and Microsoft was all about. The fear Sony felt about almost losing this stupid franchise created a panic so large they changed their development cycle to accommodate. Man, do I ever hate Call of Duty!

Anyway, I'll contribute to the problem by playing it on Game Pass.

Re: Video: Top 10 Best PS5 Games of 2024 (So Far)

MikeOrator

In order

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Fav Franchise)
Persona 3: Reload (Most Surprising)
Astrobot (Pure Bliss)
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (I didn't think I would but I did)
Zenless Zone Zero (Stopped but had fun at release)
Dungeons of Hinterberg (sneaky little Xbox game lol...)
Star Wars: Outlaws (guilty pleasure)

Metaphor: Refantazio - If from what I played in the demo, professional reviews and early player reaction is any indications this will probably be number one for me as soon as Canada Post gets their finger out of their arse...anyway it's exactly my kind of game.

Re: PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary Consoles Now Available at More Retailers

MikeOrator

@Major_Player

You have finally done it. All these people saying this for a month, over and over again, on every post about the PS5 Pro, on every comment section across the internet has failed to convince me of PlayStation's folly. Thank YOU for finally saying what needed to be said, again, ad nauseem, forever and ever AMEN.
