Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Making Two New Games, Its 'Best Work Ever'

MikeOrator

It's a racing game based on the Wacky Racers franchise but instead of driving your car you point and click on the track for movement and then roll dice to decide on the success of your overtaking or cornering.

EDIT: OMG I just discovered this exists as an actual board game. The deluxe edition even comes with fully detailed and painted models of the racers from the TV show.

Re: Strategy Sequel SteamWorld Heist 2 Sets Sail on PS5, PS4 This August

MikeOrator

@Sequel

I love to hear about others' gaming habits. I want to throw rocks at those who come here and brag about DAY ONE on game pass or already played it on game pass like it's some sort of Gotcha for us lowly PS fans. But Nintendo is the GOAT and the Switch is the best console they have ever made and nobody will convince me otherwise.

Re: Sony Takes Down PS5 Pro YouTube Leak, Suggesting It's All Legit

MikeOrator

@Jayslow @LowDefAl

To be fair...and correct me if I'm off base here...but do we consider video game YouTube channels to be The News? This channel makes money off views and subs and right now they are getting viewership based on someone else's intellectual property whether that information is accurate or not.

I know that doesn't sound much different than "legitimate" news sources but isn't there some kind of FCC paperwork or the like to be filed so that the source can be considered "actual" NEWS and then exempt from takedown notices? I don't know how this works, and information was lacking during my 10 min internet search, but I always figured that the BBC, CBC, or CNN needed to have a licence to print or broadcast the "News"

If this leak was picked up by MSNBC and reported as news would Sony be able to stop them from reporting on it? Does this have more to do with corporations vs citizens than it does with being an actual infringement on intellectual property?

Also, I'm not saying this is good or bad, I'm just putting out some thoughts as to why it would not be considered censorship or infringing on freedom of expression.

Re: SMT 5: Vengeance Trailer Teases New Enemies, Dungeons, and More

MikeOrator

@NEStalgia

I recently picked up Soul Hackers 2 for very little. Should I be ok to play it right after P3R or is it better to have a palette cleanser in between to avoid comparisons?

I plan to finish P3R, then play Soul Hackers 2, and then if done fast enough, play the next part of my ongoing playthrough of P5R, then SMTVV when it comes out in June for PS5 and play that all summer, then get ready for the release of Metaphor: ReFantazio (not an SMT game but...) then finish P5R. I also hope to have my P4G from LimitedRun soon but not sure when I am going to play that.

Sorry that is a lot of exposition on my gaming life that nobody needed to know.

I guess what I really want to know is what PS Vita games should I get to round out my SMT collection that can be played on a Playstation TV device?

Re: Free Skins and New Game+ for Stellar Blade After PS5 Launch

MikeOrator

I feel that gamer bros are saying they are buying this game for the combat to be quite amusing. They want the nudie hot girl game to succeed so badly to prove whatever point they are trying to prove they will forgive any of its potential shortcomings.

Does everyone know there isn't a photo mode at launch? Guess what they are probably going to add to any PAID DLC? Thats right...Upskirt Camera Mode.

Re: Judge Rules in Sony's Favour in $500m Controller Comms Lawsuit

MikeOrator

@thefourfoldroot1

I have always found it weird too, but this gen I have had 2 PS5 controllers. The white one that came with the system and a red one later when that colour came out. I used them interchangeably so I always had one charging. Well, wouldn't you know but the red one got stick drift on the left analogue stick. This blew my mind as it had never been an issue before. And for the NEWER one to be the problem. Nobody else uses my PS5 and I feel that I have used the white one more as I have had it longer. Anyway, I have no hard evidence to prove anything I just thought it was interesting.

Re: PlayStation Fans Torn on Prospect of PS5 Pro

MikeOrator

All the same people who say they don't want a Pro are going to be rushing to their local game store when GTA6 comes out and can only get 30fps on their launch PS5 and now they can't get one and those that did get one will be enjoying the game to the fullest.

Furthermore, we all know Rockstar doesn't release on PC for 2 years after the console so the best place to play GTA6, whenever it releases, is going to be on the PS5 PRO.

It will be interesting to see how well this post ages...lol...

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?

MikeOrator

Do I need this? - arguably no
Do I want this? - Ya, Kind of
Will this make my life better or worse? - Yes!
Will I sell my launch PS5? - Probably not as I will load the old one up with PS+ digital games and use it as my streaming hub and the upstairs TV's console.

I liken this to people who buy 8k TVs, the Pro Max iPhones, and all that fancy equipment to make espresso. Is any of it necessary? My answer: FN rights it is. It's all necessary, sell me all the things...ALL OF THEM.

This message has been brought to you by corporate greed.

(I'm still preordering it as soon as it is preorderable.)

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Off to a Sturdy Enough Start on PC

MikeOrator

AHHHH Yes. Another conversation with a bunch of spoiled gamer bros thinking they know what's "best for the brand".

We either get used to PC ports, microtransactions, and day one paid DLC as we could have $130 games instead.

Everyone that has "had it" with the PlayStation brand I want you to go to your local non-profit housing coop, orphanage or homeless shelter and look for a bunch of poor kids who look like they need some good in their life and hand everything over to them. Controllers, headphones, games, and all your plushies and other swag. All of it, every last thing. You can even post it on social media for the clout you so desire.

Re: Ubisoft's NEO NPC Prototype Offers a Glimpse at a Generative AI Future for Games

MikeOrator

Depending on which side of society you come from it's hard to tell if we are heading toward a utopia or a dystopia.

The ultra-rich already live in a Utopia from their perspective. All their needs are met and they can pursue their interests with little to no resistance. The only real problem they have is what to do with all of the rest of us poors. Solution: VR, AI, and sugary snacks so they can harvest all of our dopamine and serotonin to sell to the other galactic races. Bezos got the aliens hooked on our pleasure chemicals about a decade ago to keep them from taking over Amazon. Now they need a constant supply or they will take over the earth and create equality for all and get their serotonin and dopamine through exposure to billions of happy people with all their needs met. And everyone knows the rich don't want that.

or um, cool tech, could make games funner.

Re: PS5 Pro's Rumoured Spectral Super Resolution Tech Could Be Transformative

MikeOrator

@LifeGirl

The prime market for consoles (let's be honest with ourselves here) are people who cannot afford a gaming PC.

The prime market for Consols ( and let's be honest with ourselves here) is people who don't want to worry about specs, drivers, or compatibility issues. It's not that we can't afford a gaming PC it's that we would rather not fart around all day not playing games. And to assume it's an affordability issue is kinda the reason console users think PC gamers are douch bags. Just sayin'...

Re: 13 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Titles Yours to Download Now

MikeOrator

In Canada, I pay 21.99/month, and yes I pay by the month (sorry not sorry). In my country though Premium is called "PS+ Beauty Eh!". 21.99 also happens to be what I pay when the spouse and I go out to McDonald's for a quick meal. I don't know what I'm trying to say here, but I know I get more enjoyment out of trying 10 or 15 different (good or bad) games each month, than I do from consuming a Big Mac.
