Re: Death Stranding Celebrates 20 Million Players Milestone as PS5 Sequel Approaches

PuppetMaster

@Truegamer79 "nothing but delivering packages and looking ridiculous while doing it"

Delivering packages while:

  • Traversing dangerous terrains
  • Avoiding / fighting supernatural creatures and other human group who wants to steal the packages
  • Build roads, highway, bridges, shelter, postbox, safehouse etc that can be used for yourself and other players
  • Crafting new tech and weapons from power suit that can reduces the packages weight and give more speed, rifles & grenades, delivery bots, floating carrier etc which is really helpful

Oh you can also drive motorcycle or cargo truck to deliver the packages.

Re: Sony Reportedly Gearing Up to Sell You The Last of Us on PS5 One More Time

PuppetMaster

@Porco This re-release / reprint isn't new practice for Sony because it's been there since PS1 era with "Greatest Hits" or the PS4 rebrand "Playstation Hits" label.

They also did Greatest Hits special edition that includes CD soundtrack, some goodies, bug fixes etc. And actually enough people bought this re-release or the special edition which is the reason why Sony keeps doing it for decades.

Clearly this re-release isn't aim at people like you or the ones who already own the game and don't have any intention to double dip.

Re: The Last of Us Boss Answers Its Most Profound Question: Was Joel Right?

PuppetMaster

From a parent pov, Joel is right. But from Fireflies pov, Joel is wrong and they're right.

So for me, there's no wrong answer here. Joel had a strong reason and it's very understandable.

Fireflies also not wrong. Human is a social creature who thrives in social group / communal. But the virus destroyed the society and Fireflies wants to rebuild it again by finding a cure.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 574

PuppetMaster

I bought Vasara Collection from PSN Spring Sale and i had a blast with it. Definitely some of the best shmups i ever played. Here's the trailer from Playstation channel if anyone interested to check out.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kal5jXHfvu0&pp=ygURdmFzYXJhIGNvbGxlY3Rpb27SBwkJYgAGCjn09Vw%3D

I also played Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves second beta. Sadly Ronaldo isn't playable lol but training mode is available and i got better & faster matchmaking compare to the 1st beta. I played ranked match from Rookie-5 and right now i'm at C-1 with my boy Rock Howard. I really like CotW gameplay and i'm considering on buying the game, but maybe not on day 1.

Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻

Re: There's Real Concern Over Tekken 8's Season 2 Overhaul as Players Nervously Await Patch Notes

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz We're the same man. My Ed at Master and when i got 10 win streak suddenly next matches i got 10-12 lost streak. It's keeps going on for 2-3 hours and i like okay it's time to call it a day or i will get mad and bald lol.

Currently Mai, Bison, Kim, and Cammy are my kryptonite. But Rashid also still hard to fight and weirdly i didn't face many Rashid players these days.

Re: There's Real Concern Over Tekken 8's Season 2 Overhaul as Players Nervously Await Patch Notes

PuppetMaster

@nomither6 If you don't mind, i have two reccomendation for you, which i also apply to myself.

1. Don't be too hard on yourself when you lost and made mistakes. Like dropping combo, wrong button input, or made wrong guess is normal in fighting games.

I mean, it's okay to have skill issues. Even the best players are not perfect and losing and make mistakes is part of the journey of getting better and why fighting games is fun.

But if you reach the point of "Ey, F* this game!" or "This game is trash!" after you got losing streak and you think you stop improving then it's time to cool down your nerve and take a little break. Don't follow youtubers like LTG or DSP who got malding after they lost and keeps trashing the game. You will not get better results when you let anger controlling you and blame the game for your lost.

After you got cool down, don't go straight to ranked match or playing against other players. But watch your replay matches and analyzed what's wrong and what you did right. You can also watch other players match and see what they did to solve the situations where you had problems with.

2. Reasses the main reason why you're playing fighting games.

It's okay if you're a "filthy casual" who only wants to have fun but kinda good at SF 6, Tekken 8, MK 1 etc.

But there's nothing wrong if you want to be a high level competitive player either, although the journey is a lot harder compare to casual player.

Decide which one is your first priority so you get the right amount of mental pressure. I mean, if you don't have any intention to become a pro player and reach top 8 / win big tourneys like EVO, TWT, or Capcom Cup then you don't need to grind extensively for 6-8 hours a day like pro players.

Anyway, i'm very sorry for my rant and if i'm too preachy 🙏🙏

Re: Trails Fans Win 2025 as Trails beyond the Horizon Is Confirmed for Fall Release on PS5, PS4

PuppetMaster

I got burned out after finished Cold Steel 3. So i skip Cold Steel 4, Into Reverie, Zero, Azure, and Daybreak 1 & 2. That's 6 games and not counting spin off like Nayuta and Trails in the Sky 1 remake which i will skip it too.

And i feel glad that i don't play this series anymore. Less backlog, no more confusing story / world building / lore, no more asking "who's this character again?", and no more waiting between release.

But hey, i give salute to Trails fans who still loyal and closely follow the series 🫡. I hope Beyond the Horizon, which i read is the final chapter of Trails series, will satisfy you guys with a nice ultimate ending ...

Re: There's Real Concern Over Tekken 8's Season 2 Overhaul as Players Nervously Await Patch Notes

PuppetMaster

@MrPeanutbutterz Taking a break from fighting games is a must especially if you played it quite often. Sometimes you got losing streak and feels really angry to the point you blame or hate the game. It happened to me and i bet happened with many people. So playing other games to cool off or calm down your nerve is the right decision.

And yeah, i agreed that Capcom did a great job with all SF 6 characters. They really improved a lot compare to SF 5 days where some characters felt unfinished.

Re: There's Real Concern Over Tekken 8's Season 2 Overhaul as Players Nervously Await Patch Notes

PuppetMaster

@nomither6 I don't know what Drive mechanic that you always accidentally activated. But my guess is you didn't practice and played enough to let your muscle memory adapt to SF 6 hitbox / hurtbox, frame, button inputs, & mechanics.

That's why you always accidentally activated Drive Rush, Drive Impact, or Drive Parry because you played SF 6 with SF 4 in your mind. But you gave up playing before your muscle memory get used to the changes.

My other guess is your button map. You probably map Drive Impact or Drive Parry into one button from the default input HP+HK or MP+MK. You always ready your fingers to that button and accidentally press them when you got pressure. It happened to me and the reason why i used default button input for Drive mechanics.

And yes, SF 6 is easier / more friendly to play compare to previous SF. But the mental stack is a lot higher than before. Now, you must carefully manage your Drive gauge because when it's empty you will get Burnout and can't used EX moves + prone to chip damage, chip kill, infinite loop attack, and stun.

On top of that, there's:

  • Drive Rush for skip neutral, mind games, and combos extension
  • Drive Impact that can give Punish Counter + wall splat.
  • Drive Parry / Perfect Parry that punish you if you're too predictable with your attack pattern.
  • Drive Reversal for "get off me" option or you can used it to keep the opponent when they got corner. But if your Drive Reversal got block, you will get punished.
  • The corner is very dangerous because every character has good corner carry combos and throw loop.
  • Punish Counter which offers big damage from one whiff punish.
  • Unlike SF 3 and 4 but more similar to SF Alpha, SF 6 has three Supers + Critical Art all available on your deck and they offers a lot of offensive (and defensive) options.

All these mechanics added a lot of mental stack compare to previous SF.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Is Sony's Biggest Western Hit in Japan Since Crash Bandicoot 3

PuppetMaster

@DadJKP There's no "this is just the beginning" from both ending. Both ending pretty much closed Jin character development because he resolved to protect the island with any way necessary, even if the method doesn't fit with samurai code and cross way with the shogun.

And Iki Island DLC ending even gave a final confirmation that Jin story arc is complete. He found the person who killed his father but he forgave them and understand his father faults.

As for changing from Jin into Atsu just for "diversity sake" and Sony Japan isn't pleased, sorry to say this but i think you eat too much BS from those grifters. You don't even know Atsu character and how her story gonna play.

Re: RPG Fans 'Very Sensitive to Feeling Like They Wasted Time,' Says Atlus Battle Designer

PuppetMaster

I played and enjoyed a lot of RPG since PS1 era. But lately, this is possibly because i reach 40 + i grew up with arcadey games, after almost 3 decades of playing RPG i feel like i had enough of grinding levels, looking & comparing stats, manage item / equipment / skills, decide which character that i must put in my party, and check list all the side quest. Playing RPG feels more like doing a job than playing a video game.

It's the biggest reason why lately i prefer games like shmup, beat em up, TPS, fighting, or character action games. These game feels a lot more straightforward and i don't feel like i'm wasting my time with them.

Re: Patapon 1+2 Replay Marches to PS5, as Sony Licenses Series Out

PuppetMaster

@UltimateOtaku91 "And which of Sony's teams would you want spending their time remastering these games?"

There's Nixes, Bluepoint, and every month Sony can port multiple PS1 & PS2 games for PS4+5 by their own. So i'm sure Sony have enough resources to remaster these games. It's not like Sony is a small company lol.

"these games will struggle to reach a million sales and that's with them being multiplatform"

It will struggle to reach a million if Sony didn't properly advertised them.

"otherwise it's not worth the time, money and effort for Sony to do themselves"

Thanks for reminding me that the current Sony doesn't care that much when comes to their classic niche IP's. For them either AAA and live service games or gtfo 😔

Re: Patapon 1+2 Replay Marches to PS5, as Sony Licenses Series Out

PuppetMaster

It's just sad and ironic how Totoki claim that Sony "lack of original IP's". But now they're too lazy to remaster their original-unique IP like Freedom Wars, Everybody's Golf, and Patapon to the point they licensed them and made it as a multiplatform.

And i don't know who's idea is this, either Hermen, Nishino, Totoki, or maybe all of them.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo's Inclusion in Fatal Fury PS5, PS4 Is Confusing Some Fans

PuppetMaster

Fans who's angry or confused needs to understand that SNK needs City of the Wolves to sell well.

Fatal Fury franchise is niche af and doesn't have brand power and recognition like SF, Tekken, or MK. Not to mention the last game in the series, Mark of the Wolves, was released almost 25 years ago. In that time period, Fatal Fury franchise is pretty much dead and forgotten by many people. I doubt there's many young gamers this days who knows Fatal Fury franchise. Heck, i doubt kids or people who played Terry in Smash Bros knows what franchise he's coming from.

So if SNK wants City of the Wolves to sell well, they can't rely solely on the small Fatal Fury fanbase. They needs to do something drastic to make people outside Fatal Fury community aware of the new game and also attract them to buy / play the game. Ronaldo, Terry and Mai as guest character in SF 6, and Ken and Chun Li as guest character in this game is a necessary.

If City of the Wolves failed to sell well then don't expect Fatal Fury will receive another game.

Re: Druckmann on The Last of Us HBO Story Outpacing the Games: 'I Leave Nothing on the Line'

PuppetMaster

Feels like the TV series will outpace the game and i don't have problem with that.

And I can see Druckman, ND, and Sony are tired from all TloU 2 discourse. They're tired with all the hate and death threat messages, the whining from people who thinks the story should be this Joel should be that etc etc. So they like let's focus to complete the Tv series and when it's finished they will closed the book for TloU and then moved on to Intergalactic.
