Re: Poll: What Are Your Gaming Plans for the Holidays?

UltimateOtaku91

I've got 9 days off work and have Dragon Quest 3 HD as a pressie so I will be pouring most of my time into that.

Just bought MH Rise Sunbreak DLC as well so will be playing that with the misses and downloaded the Rabbids Party of Legends game to try as well.

Other than those it's just the usual multiplayer games Apex Legends, HellDivers 2 and Marvel Rivals.

Re: Sony Becomes Kadokawa's Biggest Shareholder As Companies Form Alliance

UltimateOtaku91

@johnedwin This is why Sony won't need to make any big acquisitions going forward, Microsoft were their only competition and they are going downhill fast and are losing even more market share even with buying Bethesda and Activision. Any big games from them will be coming to Playstation and possibly Nintendo as well.

The only company Sony need to worry about from now on is Tencent, and how much of the industry they want to control.

@Major_Player "Disappointment" lol I don't even like Souls games so I wouldn't say I'm disappointed and like I said this changes nothing going forward for Playstation gamers apart from we now get some Playstation IP Anime and Souls Movies/TV shows. Also this purchase would have cost billions so maybe that money can now be used elsewhere or to acquire someone else.

@Ryoth Didn't they sell the Wonderful 101 and Astral Chain IP to Nintendo?

In terms of the Astral Chain IP "Inaba would confirm this change in an interview the very same month, stating Nintendo now have full ownership of the intellectual property, though they were not at liberty to disclose the specifics of the change."

Those specifics would most likely involve some financial exchange. Although I don't know if Kamiya was around when this happened.

@Major_Player A huge blow in what way? Apart from the Souls IP there's nothing else major they do gaming wise, and now Kodokawa won't be bought by anyone else and us Sony players still get to play their games going forward.

Its a win for all platforms today. The Chinese are kept away, Nintendo get to keep Acquire making their games, Spike Chunsoft can continue making great visual novels and Xbox players can "breathe a sigh of relief".

Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2025?

UltimateOtaku91

I voted for,

Monster Hunter Wilds
Borderlands 4
Trails Through Daybreak 2
Ghost of Yotei
The Outer Worlds 2

Next year is hopefully going to be as good as this year and hopefully we finally see some big JRPG's get reveals/trailers like Kingdom Hearts 4, Persona 6 and Dragon Quest 12. GTA 6 will hopefully launch next year as well and to top it off we have the Switch 2, seriously looking forward to what 2025 brings.

Re: Video: The Biggest PlayStation Surprises of 2024

UltimateOtaku91

Concord flopping doesn't make this a bad year for Sony at all. We've had Astro Bot, HellDivers 2, Horizon Remastered, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and FF7 ReBirth. The Pro released to decent sales, Xbox porting over their games with Indy and Outer Worlds 2 next year, and we've had a big improvement to the Portal with cloud streaming. The year was capped with Astro Bot winning game of the year and who knows maybe they can announce the acquisition of Kodokawa before the year ends.

2024 has been a good year.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 559

UltimateOtaku91

On PS5 i will be playing Trails Through Daybreak and Zero Escape 999, I will also be trying Marvel Rivals to see if it can get hooked like the first Overwatch did.

On Switch its Mario and Luigi Brothership, I think I'm past half way now and it's been enjoyable so far albeit a bit tedious with the combat.

And on the Portal its more Tomb Raider Legend and Monster Hunter Rise via streaming which I'm currently using whilst playing it co op with the misses who's using the PS5. It's a great way to play those online co op games in the same room without having to own two PS5 consoles.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 559

UltimateOtaku91

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare I hope you enjoy the rest of the game, I didn't think it was as bad as people made it out to be. The combat was fun, graphics were nice and the story was good for a more modern realistic isekai. The grind is there later on when you get access to more bigger maps with lots to do and collect but it's optional and don't stress thinking you have to do everything.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Year 2024

UltimateOtaku91

1. Astro Bot
2. Stellar Blade
3. Final Fantasy 7 ReBirth
4. Metaphor Re Fantazio
5. Unicorn Overlord

I would have had YS X Nordics at number 5 but it wasn't included. Trails Through Daybreak would have also been there but I'm still not finished with it so I won't include games I haven't yet completed.

Re: Physical Media Just Can't Catch a Break Right Now

UltimateOtaku91

If the PS6 doesn't have a disk drive then I won't be buying one day one and stick with PS5 for a few years, the Switch 2 would probably become my main console for Jrpgs then. But, I just can't see physical games disappearing until digital sales reach 95% of all sales.
