Re: Players Won't See Every Dungeon in Metaphor: ReFantazio, JRPG Offers a 'Lot More Freedom'

UltimateOtaku91

Not gonna lie, this is a massive turn off. I will still get the game but my hype just shot down. If I'm spending 60-80 hours in one playthrough then I absolutely want access to everything the game has to offer.

I might not get it day one and instead wait a few weeks until a few Walkthroughs are done and reccomended dungeon lists so I don't miss any of the best stuff.

Re: PlayStation Likely to Go All-Digital By PS7, Analyst Predicts

UltimateOtaku91

For someone who plays 20-30 games per year and with most of those day one this isnt good news for me. The reason I can afford so many games is down to selling them on ebay once I'm finished and getting 60-70% of my money back to put towards my next games. I also rent a lot of games per year which wouldn't be a thing anymore with gaming going all digital, so I'd definitely be playing a lot less games per year and will not be spending as much money either as il be waiting for sales a lot more even on games I'd normally get day one.

So going all digital may also weaken launch sales and possibly overall sales in the long run.

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?

UltimateOtaku91

@Silenos So you put 150 hours into a single player game and didn't complete it because of its difficulty? That right there should be a great example of why Difficulty options are needed, especially for people who like to complete games otherwise that's 150 hours of their life they could have spent actually completing other games.

Also, Changing the difficulty isn't the only option to make the game easier. There's no need for From Software to change the enemies move patterns or even the amount of enemies in certain areas. All they need to do is add a enemy health/damage slider, so 100% for the usual difficulty and for those wanting it to be easier they can lower the percentage, I've even seen some games have the option to turn off damage altogether for those that just want to explore and see the story.

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?

Yes, the reason I haven't touched Bloodbourne or the Dark Souls games are because of the difficulty, same for Nioh. The only reason I put 90 hours into Elden Ring was because of the summoning totems which meant I could stay back and cast spells whilst the other two guys did the heavy work.

I know people will just say "git gud" but it's not that simple, I don't play games for a challenge, I like no aggro whilst I play games and with the amount of games I play per year i don't want to spend hours and hours replaying bosses and areas. I'm not saying I want it easy peasy either, I play my games on normal which most of the time gives the right amount of challenge. If normal is too hard then I don't have to worry as I can put it into easy and if normal is too easy then I can either put it on hard or equip armor/weapons in game that make me weaker. But having no options at all is a big turn off for me, if it wasn't for difficulty options and helpful armor sets then I wouldn't have completed my game of the year so far, Stellar Blade.

That's the difference adding difficulty options can make, going from a big turn off to loving the game. I also believe including difficulty options will mean more sales as the game then becomes more accessible to more players.

Re: Silly Speculation Alleges Sony May Have Signed Secret PS5 Exclusivity for Black Myth: Wukong

UltimateOtaku91

Just seems like a certain crowd are making excuses to defend the Series S. If Sony wanted an exclusive deal then it would have been done ages ago and we would have known about it by now as they make it clear in trailers, yet this dev have already stated it was a multi platform game from the beginning. The developers have even commented themselves saying that's its delayed due to Xbox Series X/S optimization.

The only thing I can see that could have happened is that the dev was going to delay the game for all platforms because of the Series S but Sony asked them to release the finished working PS5 version sooner.

@themightyant PlayStation have had a stellar year in my opinion, yes their State is Play was disappointing but there's no need to judge their outcome just on that alone like the majority are doing over the last few weeks.

This year so far we've had FF7 ReBirth, Granblue Fantasy Relink, TLOU 2 Remastered, Rise of the Ronin, HellDivers 2 and Stellar Blade and coming up we have Silent Hill 2, Astro Bot, Concord, Until Dawn and Lego Horizon. Plus there's a lot of great looking Multi Plat games like Star Wars, Wukong, Assassins Creed, Dragon Age, Dragon Quest etc

In my opinion this has been /will be an excellent year for Playstation gamers and looking at other platforms excellent all round.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest and Its Surrounding Shows as a Whole?

UltimateOtaku91

Pretty poor tbh, PlayStation SoP wasn't the best apart from revealing the game I want the most this year in Astro Bot, Summer Game Fest wasnt great either as it was primarily indies and not many reveals for games I'm interested in.

Ubisoft was OK for what was shown, Star Wars and Assassins Creed looked pretty good. Finally I'm not interested in Xbox games so most games shown in their showcase didn't wow me, plus the 6/7 live service games shown and quite a few cinematic trailers.

So yeah not the best "E3" period for me but here's hoping Nintendo save the day next week with a Beyond Good and Evil Remaster and Final Fantasy 9 Remake reveals.
