Re: Red Dead Redemption No Longer Playable on PS5, PS4 in a Troubling Sign of the Times

belmont

@Dr_Luigi @Kienda Wow I thought I was the only one thinking about this. I literally thought that BC and game preservation was not a big deal to well almost anyone. I got a Series S back when it got released and bought the some older Sega games there that are not available in ps4 for some reason. And after I bought the Steam Deck it only got worse. There are tons of stuff there like all Final Fantasy games although some stuff from Sega are missing from some reason. My ps5 moves towards an exclusive sony games machine.

Re: Gilgamesh Is Unleashed in Stranger of Paradise's Wanderer of the Rift DLC

belmont

@KidBoruto I got this game because I am a huge Final Fantasy fan. In fact I got the more expensive edition that includes the dlc. However, 3d action games are not my cup of tea, I play them casually usually in the lowest difficultly. Recent games like horizon and resident evil have easier difficulty that provides enjoyment, so does this game. It was very cool revisiting locations from Final Fantasy 1 while fighting some of the monsters from said game. I really enjoyed my time with the game and looked forward to the dlc only to install it and realise that I cannot play it. Never it was advertised in the product page that the dlc would be locked. Maybe @pushsquare could ask them to patch it and let the casual fans play it.

Re: Trails, Ys Announcements and More Coming This Week

belmont

OK this is getting ridiculous. Seems like both Hajimari and Kuro have 100% fan English patches released about 6 months after the games. Only minor NPC and some books and story summaries are not translated. The patches work with the Japanese Steam versions.

We used to joke that Nintendo and Sony cannot make a proper emulator and should just license the homebrew ones but the work the Kiseki fans have done for the rest of the fans is outstanding.

Re: Trails to Azure Arrests March 2023 Release Date on PS4

belmont

Do we know if PS4 will get the inferior version again?

TBH this game arrives very late for me. When I preordered Cold Steel 4 I started from Sky 1 to 3 (on PC in easy mode with the high speed button on), watched 100% playthroughs of the Crossbell games and then I beat Cold Steel 1 to 4 on PS4 (again in easy and high speed). Playing all of them back to back was ... something.
Also, I thought that releasing Cold Steel 5 or whatever is called West would be a bigger priority than the Crossbell games considering how old they are. By the time we have it Calvard 2 will be out in Japan...

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for October 2022?

belmont

@JON22 Most of them yes. The only one I cannot buy is Tekken 2. Most of them were free for me since I had the PS3/PSP/Vita version which it was cool. Even though I have bought Tekken 2 it still is not available to buy.

As for the topic I only have essentials or whatever the basic one is called for cloud saves and the occasional online game. I don't have time to play those days but if I had the extra tear has some good content.

Re: Persona Fans on PlayStation Get Sold Short Again as Xbox Deal Reveals Native Ports

belmont

Well, an Xbox x/s port could support ultra-fast load times and 4k visuals while the PS4/ One versions do not. Doesn't the same thing happen in more demanding games also, PS5 only having 4k and faster load times? I personally don't care that much but I still find it strange that there are no PS5 versions.

I won't be replaying the games anyway. I hate this silent protagonist stuff, I really hate it. I also understand that it is a videogame, but the plots on 3 and 4 have ... holes that make replaying the games less enjoyable. Was the motive of the antagonist in 4 even given?

Re: Official God of War Ragnarok PS5 Bundle Announced

belmont

And the bundle will be bundled with even more games or controllers and will be sold for 750+ euros like the Horizon and Fifa ones. I guess I was lucky getting a PS5 disk edition close to release for 500 euros. My friends were not so lucky.

Re: Beware, Gotham Knights Spoilers Are Popping Up Online

belmont

To be honest if you know Batman lore you can guess where this is going. Either Batman is not dead and is hiding because of what the mission needs (without telling anyone obviously) or there are Lazarus Pit shenanigans. In any case I am not that much interested in the game. Combat seems more of the same. Plotwise though I would love if they tried something original.

Re: Sony Will Continue to Make PS4 Games Moving Forwards

belmont

I guess when Returnal (or any other 100% PS5 exclusive) comes to the PC you will see it Steam Deck verified and then you wonder why there is no PS4 version. In any case imagine seeing Spiderman 2 or Final Fantasy 16 in PS4. After the announcement of the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4 I guess everything is possible.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for October 2022 Available to Download Now

belmont

I never got this naming plus thing. It is worse that Microsoft's consoles names. I always get confused. Would, I don't know, Tier 1, 2, 3 etc. work better?

In any case I always wanted to try Hot Wheels so I guess it is about time.
Injustice 2 is a good game, got it on release date, played it a lot, very fun for both casual and competitive gaming, however I still don't get the art direction. Some characters, especially some female ones, look off, for a lack of a better word.

To be honest though I don't have time to play online these days. If they weren't the cloud saves, which I use a lot, I would have stopped my plus subscription.

Re: Leaked Sony Document Supposedly Sheds Light on PS5's Portfolio

belmont

@Mezzer Same here. The Steam Deck changed how I think in some aspects that I was thinking to make a topic on this. On the one hand now with the Steam Deck I can finally toss the underpowered Switch that I never liked that much and Sony and Square releasing games combatable day one with the Deck that you can also buy them cheaper is also a contributing factor. For some reason PC seems like a better platform for jrpgs, if you exclude the Final Fantasy games that Sony may have bought the rights.

Re: Sony Producing Two Million PSVR2 Headsets by March 2023

belmont

The situation is different now than when PSVR1 was released. Now you have, excluding the general global economy issues, a relative new console that your fans cannot buy easily, you increase the price of it and force bundles to them citing, among others, production issues and yet you split resources producing something few people want that is a follow up to a not so successful device. I think that it is one of a few times when fans can reasonably criticize the platform owner. The critique of the remasters is more to joke tbh.

Re: Sony Producing Two Million PSVR2 Headsets by March 2023

belmont

Meh, they should just make more PS5 consoles instead of PSVR2 or raising the PS5 price. Or the resources that make games for VR should make games for their consoles or redesigning the cluttered mess that is the PS5 OS.

By the way nobody talks about PSVR1, even though it got games and had some support it seemed like a PS Vita to me.

Re: Trails from Zero (PS4) - Classic JRPG Finally Comes West, and the Wait Has Been Worth It

belmont

I may be mistaken but as years pass (excluding the FF7 Remake and FF16 which Sony may have bought, I am not sure) if you play jrpgs and j games in general on PC you get the better deal? I admit I do not know much about PC gaming, I just have a Steam Deck but this game has a better PC version, Ryza 2 (after the patches) has a better version, the latest Senra game has more features, the FF1 to 6 is PC exclusive for some reason, Octopath Traveler is also not in PS4 for no real reason. I may be mistaken though.

Re: Trails from Zero (PS4) - Classic JRPG Finally Comes West, and the Wait Has Been Worth It

belmont

This game came way too late to be honest... Back when Cold Steel 4 was up for preorder I started from Sky 1 and rushed my way to Cold Steel 4. Playing all those games one after the other is an ... experience to say the least. To be honest the tedious side quests are present in most games.

@tabris95 I don't want to spoil anything but imho the game stops making sense as you approach the end. Some familiarities with characters and plot points from the Sky trilogy are required.

@ShogunRok Do we know how much the game will cost? I want to say 20 to 30 euros but I guess they will just ask for 60

Re: 17 New PS5, PS4 Games Out Now on PS Plus Extra, Premium

belmont

Very excited to play classic games similar to the Playstation brand like Bentley's Hackpack, Kingdom of Paradise and ... Toy Story 3! They are not bad games but come on.... I guess we have the Sly games and Syphon Filter 2 but I am not sure how popular they are.

EDIT: Syphon Filter 2 was never released in the BC games on the PSP/PS Vita was it?

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Wins Award for Excellence at Japan Game Awards

belmont

I got Horizon Forbidden West in release date and played all the way till the end because I really liked it. But the ending was bad. The final boss had the most generic motive imaginable and basically the game just ends...
On a more positive note I played on a launch model PS4 but with an SSD drive and the performance was great!

Re: Suikoden Remaster Collection Announced, Comes to PS4 in 2023

belmont

Very excited for this. I got the first one way back when it was released for about 25 euros used lol seeing the prices today seems like a bargain. I really enjoy the series, even though I thought (even back in the day) that the concept of silent main characters is way outdated. I really couldn't connect with the MC in any Suikoden game but the story and world building was great.

I liked that the games followed stories set in the same world / continuity. For some reason I don't have the third game. I think there was no PAL version.

The visuals in the remaster look very good.

Re: Castlevania's Alucard and Simon Belmont Raise the Stakes in Brawlhalla This October

belmont

It may seem like trolling, but I had no idea what Brawlhalla was before this post. Seems like a Smash clone? but I always thought that Smash is not as interesting as usual fightng games. In any case the perfect Halloween gift for us Castlevania fans would be another collection with the final games that are not available in PS4 and other platforms like the DS games or the N64 games with an actual camera.

Re: Stranger of Paradise's Crusade Against Chaos Continues in Wanderer of the Rift DLC

belmont

@Voltan I really enjoyed the game for what it is, a fun take in the OG Final Fantasy story with a simple combat system and played all the way casually in the ... casual difficulty setting. I really like the game, even in this easy setting beating the game felt rewarding.
However, I don't have the skill or the time to get the skill required to play the game in the hardest setting. In a day where videogames are started to becoming more and more accessible locking content this way is bizarre.

Re: Gotham Knights Co-Op and Climactic 'Villain Night' Events Revealed in IGN First Preview

belmont

I was never a fan of the whole bat family stuff. Also I always found this kind of battles boring and repetitive. I loved Spider-Man for the PS4 but I would really like if they were less enemies.

Also what is this modern trend that Bruce had disappeared (ie Batwoman where the OG Batwoman disappears too!) or seems to have died... Also for some reason we will have a Suicide Squad game before a ... Justice League game for some reason.

Re: The PS5 Stock Situation Finally Seems to Be Improving

belmont

I would like to buy a second 400 euro digital PS5 for my family but I am in no rush. Locally I can only find 700 euros bundles with games I already have or don't want.

There is no way yet to literally just go and buy a 400 euro or 500 one. TBH PS5 has no exclusives at the moment. The only think I cannot play in my PS4 is the Yuffie episode from FF7...
