I actually wouldn't mind a Monster Hunter anime. Watching ginormous creatures duke it out with hunters, plus some sharp camera angles and lots of slow-mo shots would be right up my alley.
Waiting for a good sale on the bundle of the base game and the DLC, looks like Cyberpunk is finally in a state where I may enjoy it on PS5, though the limited time-trial I tried some time ago didn't impress me too much. I am keeping my mind open, though.
@feral1975 There isn't a PS5 bundle of the first two games unfortunately, the best you can do is play both on PS4. I believe I read somewhere that the first two had a different publisher (Xseed Games) and they are not known for releasing remasters.
I wasn't aware Flashback was such an impactful game as to get a sequel. I'm not complaining, though. may even pick up the original version on PS4 to give it a spin.
Another reason why PS5 Pro does not make too much sense. By the time people get the current version, a marketing campaign may try (if the rumors are true) to tell them they should get the newer, shinier PS5 Pro.
@DiggleDog I'm still debating if I want to replay Death Stranding on PS5 after getting the platinum trophy on PS4. I'm worried that while it was a fantastic experience the first time, it's going to be a slog the second time because I know what to expect already. A big part of the game for me was uncovering the unknown.
@LordFlamingo Same here, started the game recently but taking as much time as possible with it so after about 25 hours I am making my way... around the starting area, discovering all the bits and pieces I can. Expecting to spend 250 or more hours with the game, and looking forward to it.
@KidBoruto How have you been enjoying the game so far? I read a lot of opinions mentioning that the base game is massive and the DLCs add so much content that it burned some people out on the game so I think I will play it in short sessions.
@lacerz Ah, that would make sense, thank you for chiming in. And even if half of the 25 million copies were sold as part of the promotion you mentioned, it's still a massive success on the scale of lifetime sales of other titles.
It's mind-boggling that Grand Theft Auto V still on the list. I found a source online which mentioned that as of Feb 2023, the game sold 175 million copies worldwide. Meanwhile, the total amount of PS4 consoles sold is around 118 million, and PS5 consoles is at 32 million.
So there must be 25 million people who bought two copies of the game (maybe one for PS4 and one for PS5 since the list doesn't mention platforms). That's just crazy.
Now I can finally start hoping for the Complete Edition to start dropping in price so that I can buy the game fully patched with all the story content for a reasonable price. Hopefully shouldn't take long now for the price to hit $20 which is my sweet spot for any Ubisoft open-world icon-clearing effort.
I'm looking forward to the remaster, having finished both games previously on PS4. Agree with the previous commenter that the games were made on a budget and it shows in certain scenes but I'm not opposed to replaying the whole package again just to re-experience certain scenes in Unreal Engine 5.
@UltimateOtaku91 When is Bloodborne remaster coming out? It's a bit hard to imagine saying to someone, "Hey, Lies of P is coming in August but you should wait for a remaster of a game that's not even been announced and is coming... ugh, sometime maybe, I wish?"
I like the idea of no DLC for the game, and the studio instead starting work on a sequel with Quidditch and other goodies included. It's a breath of fresh air to buy a game and knowing it's the complete package.
I wish we could get a "sidequel" which would disregard SR4 and Gat Out of Hell and continued after 3. I'm sure there's a way to make that happen instead of a full reboot which was apparently not that great critically and financially.
Someone should track the flight path in the latest Flight Simulator to make sure the plane is not intentionally flying above cities whose first letters spell "COD" or some such.
Wouldn't be surprised if someone was already on it.
Maybe a cynical take but I wouldn't be surprised if Jake had a non-disparagement clause in his contract which means he can't slag Firaxis unless he wants to get sued. It could be that the split was amicable as it is presented, though.
Does anyone know what the best way to start with the series is? The one I was looking at is Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water on PS4 but not sure if I need to play/watch plots from previous installments?
Discussions around this game indeed stopped pretty much immediately after the week of release, at least that's my opinion. I fear Forspoken will be yet another game quickly forgotten and only sometimes mentioned in lists of okay games to play during slow months with no major releases.
Calling it right here even though it breaks my heart: Red Dead Redemption 2 won't receive any additional single-player content or a PS5 patch. The sooner I accept it, the sooner the pain goes away.
Is the new model mentioned in the article the one where you can buy an add-on disc drive, or a full-fledged PS5 Pro? Not really interested in the former but if the specs on the supposed Pro are solid, I may consider a buy.
@Ravix You may be right, it looked to me like the gold bar is some kind of time-based special ability (at least judging by it not increasing when damaging enemies) and the blue bar above it is the Force bar which gets replenished on each hit you do. The video shows the special ability activated towards the end, it could be some kind of bubble where your Force doesn't deplete for a time.
It looks like Respawn still thinks it's better if Force bar doesn't regenerate automatically but only through damaging enemies. I feel that the first game was very stingy in this regard and more often than not I found myself wishing to use my Force powers but realizing I don't have enough juice to do so.
Hopefully there's a skill or something to regenerate Force automatically, that should make the game more fun for me.
That sounds like a roguelite/roguelike game to me. Not saying I don't like it but there have been some extremely impressive titles in the genre and the bar is set pretty high.
@Green-Bandit I'm in the same boat as you, still didn't buy 2 and 3 Remakes but did recently finish 7 and oh boy, was it an experience! The atmosphere was awesome and the setting is perfect.
I know we haven't even had a chance to play the game but I tend to agree that the amount of titles in the genre feels a bit too much, especially since they're all aiming to capture the same limited audience (people who like to play online with other people, and not Warzone or Fortnite).
The faux-1960s spy aesthetics makes me miss No One Lives Forever (I know I'm dating myself here), we need someone to finally figure out the tangled mess that are the rights to NOLF and get a proper release, or ideally a remaster.
I like the idea of repurposing E3 to focus on indie games since those are the ones who need the exposure. Big players can handle the hype machine in their own shows but indie developers are the ones working on shoestring budgets and any exposure could mean the difference between a profitable launch, or a studio going under.
