Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for GTA 6 After Trailer 2?

BoingX2

My only concern is how big the main game is and how much is tied in their online mode. We know the game is being built around their online mode. I mean why wouldn't it be? That's their biggest source of income for the game. I think there is going to be serious and seamless connection between on and offline games.

Re: Round Up: Indiana Jones Reviews Are Live, Mostly Very Strong

This is why scores don't matter. Everybody keeps saying "but other sites gave it a 9". The important thing is what they say. What pure Xbox said about the game makes me understand why they didnt enjoy it. I can understand debating the reason for the score but only fools debate the actual scores.

Re: Gamers Are Reportedly More Interested in Watching Games Than Actually Playing Them

BoingX2

I can't believe we are STILL having this conversation about watching vs playing video games. Almost exactly 10 years ago (Dec 3, 2014) a South episode, #REHASH (s18 ep9), came out and one plotline was exactly about this. (Kyle's little brother would rather watch than play games)

How have we not moved on in 10 years and this is still a thing to talk about? 🤔

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) - The Best BioWare Game Since Mass Effect 3

BoingX2

@DonJorginho yeah. This is why I never listen to the opinion of reviewers in if a game is good or not and NEVER care about scores. I read / watch reviews to get a list of pros / cons and detailed explanations of game mechanics or game features. Because, like you, I liked games many have not. If a game is good or is subjective. Sometimes other people's pros are my cons.

This is why I never understand why people look at scores and get excited "they gave it a 4/4“. So? Even in this review bloated side quests are a con, but I personally enjoy that.

Re: Like It or Not, This Is Why PS5 Pro Doesn't Have a Disc Drive

BoingX2

I may be an old school player from the Atari era but I have gone 100% digital since PS4 days. I don't buy day one, I never preorder, and wait for great sales months later or even a year later. When I finish a game I never go back to play it again years later because I always have a massive backlog of new to me games I want to play. I know I'm a tiny minority, but that's just how I roll now.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

BoingX2

It seems disingenuous to use R&C as an example of why the a Pro is a waste of money. You can't look at a massively optimized game as a representative of the entire library. Infact I'd say games like R&C are a tiny minority optimized games.

And no the pro won't make devs lazy. The pro will be a tiny minority of ps5 sales. Games can't be designed for just the pro. I'd say it will have no impact on how a company optimizes their games for the base ps5.

But lets face it, we all know GTA 6 will be the real showcase of what the pro can offer.

Re: Feature: PS5 Pro's Been Clowned on By the Entire Internet, and the Memes Will Make You Laugh

BoingX2

This is rightfully deserved because if you watch the video is a big difference between watching a game and playing a game. When you're watching the game and these videos you can pay attention to whatever you want.

For example look at the ratchet & clank showed where you can see the things in the background look sharper. That's fine if you're just standing around doing nothing in the game but if you're actually playing you're not going to notice this.

That's one thing I noticed long ago when it comes to video games that you first start playing and you stop and you move around go wow this is gorgeous and amazing. But once you really start playing you don't notice those little details you just get the overall feeling of this is beautiful not look at the sharpness of the leaves in the background.

Re: Despite Price Point, Analyst Firm Expects PS5 Pro to Sell Like PS4 Pro

BoingX2

Since no drive it should be the same price as the original ps5 with a drive.

I thought the whole benefit to them for having a cheaper driveless system is that people buy games online through them and that means less hardcopies being resold second hand. But this is more expensive and driveless and I just can't see the value of it for me.

I was waiting for the ps5 pro to jump into the PlayStation world again but I think I'll either spend less and get original discless or maybe just spend more and go PC instead. I'm not sure. 🤔

Re: Reaction: PlayStation Needs to Take a Long, Hard Look at Itself

BoingX2

Stuff like this is only going to push developers and big companies like Sony into the "mobile game design" even faster. Despite what we here think, those games take so little effort and make so much money it's not even funny.

Why make an AAA game when a simple money loop mobile style game can make 10x as much money with a fraction of the design cost.

But can you blame them? Monopoly Go made 3 billion dollars in a year(ofcourse they spent crazy money marketing). But so many games easily cover their costs with the high turnover mobile design. What company wouldn't want that kind of money? Simply put the risk vs reward scale has changed.

Re: Demon's Souls PS5 Easy Mode Was Considered by Bluepoint, But Felt It 'Wasn't Our Place'

BoingX2

I guess they are happy to tell all the hard working developers "we could add an easy mode, make a lot more sales, and pay you even more money because you deserve it for all your hard work. However, the ego of some baby gamers who need to prove how cool they are is more important than you are."

In this time when people are suffering why not make more money for your team? If you refuse to play a game because of an OPTIONAL game mode, well then honestly you are an idiot.

Re: Western Digital Reveals First PS5 Compatible SSD

BoingX2

I just want a "archive" drive. Give me a slower 2TB drive and a nice clean interface to swap them. Pick a game and select "archive" and it moves to the slow big drive but it's not playable there. Then click "restore" to move it back to the fast SSD.
