Re: Stunning PS5 Sandbox Towers of Aghasba Out Now in Early Access

DennisReynolds

@Jrs1 It kinda was as Sony didn't really allow it but in recent times they have started to allow it more what with this and Palworld. Xbox has been allowing early access games on its store for years as well. Its a gamble as always with them but its worth remembering Baldur's Gate 3 was a early access game as was games like Subnautica and Dead Cells.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

@Whately86 Honestly i just its unfair to put the blame on Sony for the troubles 3rd party devs are causing. As i said the 1st party stuff and games like Ronin and Stellar Blade are a success on Pro and those are the games we should hold Sony responsible for as they have a closer hold on those games. Games like Alan Wake 2, Star Wars, Dragon's Dogma 2 and so on having issues on the Pro is not really on Sony its on the people making them, Sony isn't the one making nor publishing them so why blame Sony? Also 9/1000? What do you mean by that?

Again not everything will be a hit as i said look at the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster it runs worse then the 360 version so is that Sony and MS's fault? AC Syndicate for a good while looked and ran worse on PS5 then it did on PS4 so are we to blame Sony? No it was on Ubi hence why they were the ones to finally fix the issues.

I think the main issue here is you just resent the Pro and Sony for making it and you know what thats fine i get it but the only reason it exists is because the PS4 Pro was a success. Sony are just like it or not repeating what they did last gen because shocker Sony like every Corp in existence is in the business of making money. The popular saying is vote with your wallet and people did they bought the PS4 Pro and telling Sony they will buy a mid gen upgrade. Its why a PS6 Pro is pretty much certain giving the sales of the PS5 Pro.

@Whately86 I think we're just going round in circles now so i won't bother repeating myself. I will say though you would never survive PC gaming with how you view things. The 60fps as standard dream is also never going to be reality on consoles not when games continue to ever evolve, its why PC gamers laugh at console gamers who expect native 4K/60fps on consoles because they know mid 500$ 2019/20 hardware is never getting you that with most games.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

@Whately86 End of the day as i've said the console isn't magic it requires Devs to pull their weight as well. Blaming the Pro for Jedi Survivor looking bad is like blaming a 4090 because Jedi Survivor also runs bad on it as well. Lollipop Chainsaw remaster runs pretty poorly on PS5 and SX so should we blame those consoles that a remaster of a PS3 game runs bad on them? No of course not the issue is clearly on the Devs.

Its worth remembering that negatively generates more clicks. PQ are very guilty of focusing on that and saying wild statements because it gets the comments hot and bothered. What hasn't helped is DF covered a lot of the better performing games in their Pro review, its why the likes of Horizon and FF7 Rebirth haven't got a post launch review as they have been covered already. Finally PQ have been cherry picking what videos to cover, Spidey 2 got a really positive Pro video from DF last week for instance and well PQ didn't cover it. Yes the Pro has teething issues its using brand new tech midway into the gen it was never going to be a perfect launch but again it requires the Devs to do their part as well. Its worth noting the 1st party stuff and games like Stellar Blade and Ronin have had great Pro support most likely because the Devs have had longer to work with the Pro due to either being owned by Sony or working really close with Sony.

Re: Do You Really Want Devs to Make Lower Budget, More Original Games for PS5?

DennisReynolds

I will play anything that looks good to me but end of the day just because you're a smaller game doesn't mean you deserve special treatment from reviewers and players.

I will say i heavily disagree that the AAA market is bursting. The thing that is bursting is the live service game, there's too many of them, most are too greedy and players are clearly fed up with it. It says a lot that the biggest hits this year are single player games with the one big live service game that is a success in Helldivers 2 being the one that offers something new and isn't MTX/P2W hell.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

DennisReynolds

@Whately86 Yeah PQ love causing uproar in the comments section and its why they make questionable statements like that. DF and GamingTech the two best sources on gaming tech though are way more positive and actually know what they're talking about so i would rather go by what they say. PQ say a mountain but that so called mountain isn't even double digits. Lets be over generous and say 9 games have problems on Pro well the list of Pro supported games is 80+ so not a bad turn out is it? Lord's of the Fallen struggles with 60fps on base PS5 but on Pro its pretty much locked 4K/60fps. No Man's Sky is 4K/60fps on Pro and holds it more often then not.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

DennisReynolds

@Whately86 What's the mountain pile? Notice how a list of them was never mentioned? Its because it would be a pretty short list. Dragons Dogma 2 and Alan Wake 2 may have issues on the Pro but they still look and perform better on the Pro and the issues they have can be easily be fixed. The majority of games with a Pro patch look and run better and that's a fact, Horizon FW was even compared to a high end PC game by John from DF because its that good. Then you have games without a pro patch running and looking better as well like Elden Ring, Metaphor and GT7 that is now locked at 4K/120fps.

Re: Disgruntled PS5 Pro Owners Campaign to Disable Support After Slew of Shoddy Patches

DennisReynolds

@Wario_Waha I mean Digital Foundry and GamingTech gave the Pro glowing reviews so not really disaster is it when the actual expects say otherwise.

Honestly the people i'm finding moan most about the Pro are those for whatever reason don't have a Pro. Me though i've been playing Spidey 2 NG+ at 4K/60fps this past week, Metaphor at 60fps and Stellar Blade NG+ at 4K/60fps where it looks better then ever. The Pro has way way more hits then misses and you would know that if you had one.

Re: Disgruntled PS5 Pro Owners Campaign to Disable Support After Slew of Shoddy Patches

DennisReynolds

Honestly yeah i think there should be an option to play with base PS5 settings because while most games run and look better we do have Jedi Survivor looking worse.

I do have to laugh at the person wanting the downgraded 40fps option for Outlaws though. Outlaws on Pro is the best way to play it on console so why someone would want to take a hit both in visuals and performance is beyond me.

Re: PS5 Pro Image Quality Issues Reported for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

DennisReynolds

@LifeGirl Far more games run and look better then those that don't. Jedi Survivor was pretty bad on PS5 and SX and is still bad on PC so is it a bad look for them? Like always not everything will run and look perfect, the Pro isn't magic it requires the Devs to put in the work as well. Stellar Blade, Spidey 2, SW Outlaws, Rebirth and more are hard proof on what the Pro can do.
