Spiderman 2 will release with "the best puddles ever seen in a videogame" (Digital Foundry). Unfortunately the rendering on said puddles will be so good, that the PS5 can't handle it, causing the console to crash and resulting in thousands of gamers taking to twitter to rage about how good the puddles are.
Elon Musk will buy Sony and announce he is going to win back Bethesda as his first move. Sadly, he is unable to achieve this, so he does the next best thing and releases a Fallout competitior starring himself, wandering a post-apocalyptic wasteland of his own making.
Sony announces that it intends to improve its subscription model by introducing a new tier, "Ultra". For an extra twenty quid, gamers will be sent old Sony products each month, such as camcorders, or surplus Walkmans.
Fumito Ueda's new project will be revealed, and will be a 20-hour epic about a bloke who's lost his pen. It will be due for release in 2030.
PSVR 2 will launch with a brand new "Smell-o-vision" feature, allowing for a level of immersion never seen before in video games. The only title to support this feature at launch will be Silent Hill 2, leading to a raft of complaints.
As much as Elden Ring is more my sort of game, it definitely isn't for everyone. I've not got around to Ragnarok yet, but it strikes me as a game that most people would enjoy. I think that's why it's the winner. I'm looking forward to playing it.
@AnnetteM Games that aren't great but I weirdly enjoyed - that one that was a bit Dragon Age-y that came out a couple of years back. It was so forgettable I've already forgotten what it was called. You played as a pirate or something..?
While the kids play on the PSVR they got for Christmas, I'll be waiting for the PS5 to be free so I can get back to a decidedly 2D Green Hill Zone in Sonic Origins. The irony isn't lost on me.
Completed it and loved it. Plan to play through it again at some point.
@The_Pixel_King Put plenty of points into stamina, whichever class you choose. And when attacking, always leave enough stamina to roll away if necessary. They can't kill what they can't hit!
I haven't played GoW or Horizon Forbidden West yet, so those would no doubt feature in my top five. As it is, Stray narrowly loses out to Elden Ring for me.
Can I give a little shout out to Salt and Sacrifice? At the time I found the change to the core gamplay loop jarring and unwelcome, but looking back, I really enjoyed my time with it.
I was planning on getting it at Christmas because I wasn't expecting the reviews to be as good as they were. I might as well stick to the plan, but I'll have to be on full Spoiler Watch until then. Maybe I'll lock my phone and computer in a time capsule and mark it December 25th.
Oooh, wasn't going to buy this at launch, as I've got other games on my plate, but this has given me a big decision to make!
Regardless of score, verdict etc, it's a pleasure to read such a gleefully enthusiastic review, about a game which was so clearly enjoyed from start to finish. Cheers for this.

Started playing The Pedestrian. About halfway through I think, and it's starting to get quite tricky.
Re: 20 PS5, PS4 Indie Games to Look Forward to in 2023
@Sakisa Yeah, I'll be there day one or thereabouts. Can't say I'm 100% confident it'll be this year though...
Re: 20 PS5, PS4 Indie Games to Look Forward to in 2023
Silksong isn't just my most anticipated indie game of 2023, it's my most anticipated game full stop

Working this weekend so not committing to anything major, but might start Horizon Forbidden West on Sunday night.

Re: 20 Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games of 2023 as Voted By You
Looking forward to all of these to be honest. Not sure when I'm going to play them all though. Better crack on with the backlog.

Re: Game of the Year: Annette's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
@Impossibilium Greedfall, thanks. That's the one. Eurojank is a perfect description, they should have just called it that.
Re: Game of the Year: Sammy's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
I think I'm one of the few people who loved the endgame areas in Elden Ring. The wall of ice in particular was amazing
Re: Game of the Year: Annette's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
@AnnetteM Want to say Downfall but I'm pretty sure that's a board game and/or a film about Hitler
Re: Game of the Year: #2 - Elden Ring
A true adventure, in every sense of the word.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2023?
I've got a week off in mid-January. I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to spend it playing Fallout 76.

Re: Game of the Year: Brett's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
Fully agree on Sonic Origins. Finally playing Sonic 2's Hidden Palace on console was more exciting than I'd publicly care to admit.
Re: Poll: Have You Completed Elden Ring?
Completed it and loved it. Plan to play through it again at some point.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5, PS4 Developer of 2022
I'd probably say Hello Games should get a quick mention. The free content for No Man's Sky keeps on coming.
Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Cult of the Lamb
This one keeps popping up in the lists. On the watch list it goes!

Re: Game of the Year: Stephen's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
I've actually not played any of these games yet. Plan to get around to all of them at some point though.
Re: Site News: The Results Are In for Push Square Community's Screenshot Competition
Cyclone absolutely stormed the top ten. In fact, you could say it blew the competition away.

@LordOfTurnips seconded

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 455
I've got the platinums for Spyro 1 and 2, I figure it would be downright rude not to go for the third one as well.
Re: Hardware Review: Thrustmaster T128 - The Perfect Wheel for Beginners
Coincidentally, I once knew a chap called Thrustmaster at my local dogging club.
Re: Need for Speed Unbound's PS5 Soundtrack Will Make You Feel Old
I prefer In Your Own Time Rocky. He's much more laid back.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 452
I started Wild Arms the other day, just for a quick nostalgia kick, and I can't seem to stop playing it.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2022?
Not blown away by Extra, and as for Premium, there's only so long I can keep paying for what it could be, rather than what it is.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy God of War Ragnarok?
I was planning on getting it at Christmas because I wasn't expecting the reviews to be as good as they were. I might as well stick to the plan, but I'll have to be on full Spoiler Watch until then. Maybe I'll lock my phone and computer in a time capsule and mark it December 25th.
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2022 Announced
Not blown away by Premium thus far, it has to be said. Come on Sony, give me Vib Ribbon with full Spotify integration. You know it makes sense.
Re: Soapbox: God of War Ragnarok Is a Real Game of the Year Rival to Elden Ring
I find the GOTY debate tiresome, to be honest. Not sure why people get so worked up about it. Although if Elden Ring doesn't win, I'll kick off.
Re: Take-Two Reiterates GTA 6 Leak 'Won't Have Any Influence on Development'
I heard the leaked section of the game is out next week and retails at 79.99

Oof, a 6 for me. Kratos will be cross when he finds out.

Fantavision of course. Will hopefully finish Limbo this weekend too.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2022?
Already played Nioh 2 but I might treat myself to another playthrough
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 450
Started Limbo this morning, thought it would be a fun little puzzler to enjoy with the kids. I was wrong.
Re: 'Bloodborne Mobile' Rated in Australia, But Don't Lose Your Mind Just Yet
It's not "Bloodborne mobile", it's the Bloodbornemobile. It's a patent for a new car. Like the batmobile, but bloodier.
Re: Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for November 2022 Leaked Early
@Ravix Nioh 2 in three words = Bad ass samurai
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 449
Continuing my Dark Souls III playthrough. Laying my summon sign down in the Grand Archives for some easy levelling.
Also started AC Odyssey on PS Plus and enjoying it so far.
Re: New Tales From The Borderlands (PS5) - No Tale, Too Much Borderlands
