The Elden Ring prep for the DLC has got out of hand. What was supposed to be a straight-up samurai/katana build has turned into a Wolverine-style character, running around with fire grease on his claws and no top on. He was overpowered for a while but the lack of decent armour is catching up with him, so this weekend's job is to find some good gear.
I'm level 130 now so I'm almost ready, but there's still loads to do in the base game yet.
@J2theEzzo Don't get mw wrong, the series was never the height of satire, but in the third one it felt like they confused "jokes" with "people shouting random things"
Might give Borderlands 3 another go at some point. Bounced off it hard at release, despite enjoying the first two. Other than that, it's nice to know I have an ice hockey game sitting there in case I ever get the urge.
I went to watch an ice hockey game a few years ago, got free tickets through my son's school. Never really watched it in the past, outside the Winter Olympics. Enjoyed it immensley. No idea who was playing though. Two Lancashire teams I think. I had a life-changing hotdog at half time. Anyway that's my ice hockey story I hope you all enjoyed it, I wonder who's going to play me in the film adaptation.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - it's the game I've waited two decades for.
Elden Ring - loaded up the old character so I could have a mooch in the DLC. Stomped the Blackgaol Knight and then got murdered by a laundry basket that was on fire. With my curiosity satisfied for now, I've gone back to my new character to build them up a bit more. No point rushing it
I might download it later on. My new character is so much better than my other two and is around level 80ish. Can't decide whether to invest more time into this character first, or to give it a whirl with an old build
I'm happy about this news. I've recently given up trophies and turned off the notifications. It was affecting the way I was gaming and I was putting way too much stock into them. I feel like they are a way to feed gaming addiction, and I believe that people who say they use them as a guide etc are actually just hooked on them.
@LiamCroft Cheers for the review, great read as ever. Mind you, I'd still be playing it even if you'd told me it was terrible and would give me the clap.
Also I've not checked Metacritic but I imagine this is the only review that gives Andrea True Connection a nod, well played.
I probably won't play any of these, but I'm currently playing Eiyuden Chronicle Rising from Plus and I've got Disco Elysium, Animal Well and Sifu on the backlog burner, so I'm not going to sit here complaining about the service.
Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, which has been more fjn than I expected, if a little fetch-quest heavy, Elden Ring. I've given up trying to get my new character DLC ready, and instead I'm just taking my time and enjoying it.
Also I'll be watching football and probably going on a bit of a road trip with the boys tomorrow for Father's Day. So a busy one!
@B0udoir I've been wondering this too, but in the preview Liam says he was offered the chance to create a fresh character for the demo at level 150, if I'm reading it right. So we're talking late game/early NG+ by the looks of it
Very excited for this one. The last Astrobot tapped into something I've not felt probably since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - that sense of wanting to carry on just so I can see what the game throws at me next
The new Elden Ring run has begun. What was supposed to be a Samurai build has seen my character abandon the ways of the samurai and run around with claws, stripped to the waste. He had a difficult childhood.
@Perturbator @Zemo55 I care - especially about Nioh 2. One of my favourite PS4 games
Thank god, I've had my character standing in the same position for seven months while I waited for this photo mode to drop. My electricity bill has been sky high.
Might start thinking about a new Elden Ring run for the DLC, or go back to that claws-only Dark Souls 3 playthrough I was going to start. I want to check out Animal Well too. I've not properly played anything from start to finish since I completed Humanity last summer. It's time to get stuck back into some gaming again
Essential has wiped the floor with Extra and Premium this month. I'll be giving Cat Quest a go with my youngest, so there's that. If it's good we'll play the sequel, so I suppose the month has paid itself off.
Sounds interesting, though I wonder if there will be any quality control. For example, if I get from point A to point B, will that be enough to get my gameplay viewed by everyone, and will they then see that I cheesed my way through half of Elden Ring by summoning someone ten times better than me and hiding in a corner?
I'll definitely be playing Tunic. Been wanting to play it for a while.
Also, FIFA means my mate and I have a new game to play each Euro 2024 fixture on before it happens, to get a Mystic Meg-style premonition of the near future, and then rush to the bookies and lose a quid betting on it coming true. It's become a tradition at international tournaments.
Sea of Thieves. Mostly watching my youngest play it, but I'll occasionally step in if things get tough. I was expecting griefers galore from what I'd heard but we're having a surprisingly chilled out time with it.
I've bought two. One for recreational activities, and one for dodging cannibals and mutants for when the world ends. I don't want my recreational one to get ripped, you see.
I'm not sure I'll play through this again. The Far Harbour DLC was very good and the game had plenty of highlights (the robot pirates!) but overall it didn't live up to Fallout 3 for me.
I've watched the first couple of episodes of the show but it's Fallout 3 I'm craving. I've downgraded my sub to Extra though so I may have to dig the PS3 out
"Murayama's "concept of play" (which dictates that dungeons should be gruelling resource management tests)" - good man.
@MrGawain Fully agree, although sometimes I wonder whether it's better they remain unanswered. We don't always get answers to the big questions in life after all!
That game made a big impression on my younger self. To this day, if I see cardboard boxes while I'm behind the wheel, I aim for them. Amazon drivers hate me

Elden Ring, Sifu, Cat Quest, Eiyuden Chronicle. And I told myself I was only going to play one game at a time.
Also, football.
