Good but I feel like the PS4 was the peak and we're now coming down the mountain in some respects. The console itself and the controllers feel over-designed. The lack of folders is a step back and the irritating 'cards' business can do one. Not blown away by the games either. Astro's Playroom is still my favourite thing on it.
I requested a refund an hour ago. I've been told I can't have one, because apparently I "never actually bought it in the first place". Disgusting company.
I'd be interested to see how the UK list differs. Probably just swap out NBA for FIFA (or whatever it's called now). Surprised to see Apex Legends in there, I thought that had dropped off a bit.
Finished it the other day, enjoyed it. While I understand the criticisms to an extent, we're not making the gaming equivalent of Jane Austen here. It's a half-term holiday blockbuster and it's an absolute banger.
Picked up Spiderman 2 yesterday afternoon. It's going to dominate the PS5 in our house and I'm fine with that.
@Northern_munkey I'm interested to hear how you get on with this one. I havenβt seen many people playing it. I'm intruigued, but not enough to gamble on it
As @BAMozzy says above, this is always going to be subjective and down to the individual.
This is why physical games will always be important to me. If I do feel short changed by a triple-A release, I can just trade it in. Not that my son would let me do that in this case though, we're enjoying Spidey 2 immensely.
My eldest has been saving up for it, so we went to Asda earlier and grabbed a copy. They hadn't even put it out on the shelves so we had to ask if they had it. Then the guy on the till was like "we haven't sold many copies today" lol
I'm on a bit of a gaming break at the minute but I finally downloaded Roblox after years of the kids asking to get it, so I've been watching them play that. What a world we live in today.
I don't get why Ubisoft have made this an either/or debate. Surely we could have an AC game which combines the complex combat, sprawling narrative and expansive open world of Valhalla, but with some cities included for platforming, stealth assassinations and some hay to jump into? Maybe with a bit more variation than old school AC, but perhaps not 500 hours long.
I'll be building my car out of the cheapest used parts going, thank you very much. It's not a proper rally unless your exhaust, mirrors and both bumpers are hanging off by the time you trundle over the line.
My password was 'password1' but thankfully I changed it to 'password2' the other day so they'll never figure it out. You've got to stay ahead of these people or you'll get burned.
I hope this opens up new possibilities for real-life actors appearing in Mortal Kombat. I'd like to see Peter Capaldi as Raiden, or Johnny Vegas as Sub-Zero.
Looking forward to this. Bit worried about EA's involvement but not massively so. I just want to chuck a car down a mountain without facing a hefty mechanic's bill.
Some will be worse than others. But when you get something like Diablo 4, it just punishes early adopters. Which is fine if you can hang on and get the game later, but from a developer's point of view, those aren't really the people you want to wind up.

Re: Poll: What Will Win Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023?
I'm sulking because Wo Long isn't on there, so I've spoiled my vote.
@kyleforrester87 Good to see the hat out
Re: AI Could Make Grand Theft Auto NPCs 'Really Interesting and Fun', Says Take-Two CEO
No doubt this feature will launch with the PS7 version.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 PS5 Physical Version Set to Be Announced This Week
I've not been holding out for one, but if it exists by the time I get around to this game, then I think it's meant to be.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying a PS5 'Slim'?
Yes and I'm going to hide it behind my current PS5 so my wife doesn't know I've bought it
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2023?
I might play Mafia II at some point but no, I'm struggling to call it a good month.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
Possibly a bit of MediEvil, maybe a touch of Dark Souls III, perhaps even a little Fantavision for bonfire night.
Re: Portal's GLaDOS Rips into The Talos Principle 2 in Genius Promo Video
Although I think this generation has been slightly over-saturated with new versions of old games, I'd be on a Portal double-pack remake in a heartbeat
Re: Mini Review: Ebenezer and the Invisible World (PS4) - Gorgeous Metroidvania Burdened by (Bah Hum)bugs
If they can patch this up by Christmas it could be worth a look. Christmas 2024 that is. Ho ho ho
Re: The Next Shenmue Could Potentially Be a Prequel Story
Lan Di will be long dead before Ryo finally catches up with him. He'll have to kick his grandson's arse instead.

Re: Preview: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Elevates the Ubisoft Formula with a Stellar Setting
I quite enjoyed the second film. The first one was all right but it massively ripped off Ferngully

Re: EA Sports WRC's Trophy List Will Have You Driving Thousands of Miles for the Platinum
Yeah I'll be all over this at some point. Not sure when though, too many games to fit in, something's got to give.

Re: 'Gollum-Like' King Kong Game Is Getting Torn to Shreds Online
@SystemAddict Yeah it's a bit of a David vs Goliath situation thinking about it. Could be a bibilical retelling

A Gollum vs Kong announcement is the only way to go from here

Re: PS5 Slim Doesn't Come with a Vertical Stand, Needs to Be Bought Separately
I'm going to use a pile of PS5 discs as a makeshift stand. Zero additional purchases needed. Take that Sony.

Best month for a while for me, if true.
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Seems to Be Real
This is good news for me. I haven't played it yet. The normal version will hopefully get cheaper
Re: Now Cancelled, Hyenas Was Reportedly SEGA's Biggest Budget Game Ever
Surely it would have been better to just stick it in the next Yakuza as a mini game

I've never seen Sammy and Ben Shepherd in the same room. I'll leave it at that.
@johncalmc Superb work
Re: Soapbox: My Favourite Game at Tokyo Game Show Wasn't Actually on PS5, PS4
I wonder if Sammy's technically qualified to drive an actual train by now
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2023?
Weird West is a title I'll probably try out at some point so that'll do for me

I started Wo Long last Sunday but I don't know how much I'll get in this weekend. Good start though, beat the first couple of bosses.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium for September 2023?
If this month's selection were an album, it would be a B-sides compilation. Get some hit singles on there Sony.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Baldur's Gate 3?
Not played it yet. Tell you what, send me a copy and I'll let you know. Deal?
Edit: ha, never mind, just seen @thefourfoldroot1 's comment. Foiled again

Wise words. I'm looking forward to playing this, but it might not be this side of Christmas

Re: Reaction: Has Sony Put Together the Worst PS Plus Month Ever?
It's a sad indictment of the service that I had to really think about that question.
Re: Suikoden I & II HD Remasters Delayed Out of 2023
I was half expecting this. I'll have more time to play it next year anyway. Hopefully it'll mean time to add more quality of life improvements etc.
