I cleared out most things in Far Cry 5, and don't want to move on. It is easily one of the most gorgeous games I've played, and the setting makes me feel like a kid in the woods again. It was paced atrociously and the AI does not cohabitate our corporeal plane, but I still loved it.

One of my favorite games of all time is Chinatown Wars. I know it's probably a hate crime now but I love that game. I've always preferred the top down GTA style. Very into this. I hate the idea of playing as a cop, but hey, Sleeping Dogs exists, so it can be accomplished.

@Golem25 AF was way better than I thought it would be. It just needed more of its own identity. Looking forward to this one.

Yeah I don't know man. Kind of done with Atlus. Their games are getting super homogenous to me and all this money grubbing is gross.

@UltimateOtaku91 that's a really interesting reply, lol. I get what you mean in that a lot of AAA publishers pull that on Switch (usually ones I don't care about), but having to install PS5 games means I don't buy a lot of big games and barely have anything physical for the PS5. It's practically the same thing.

I don't have a single negative thing to say about this. Good luck to the team. This is the kind of thing that I was excited about when I got my PS5. Very excited to play this as soon as it drops.

@PuppetMaster I would buy a version of this or Genshin etc if it were just a full priced game with in-game unlocks. Maybe. I don't know, I find waifu BS tiring.

I decided to give them some time to patch it up. It seemed wonderful from the few hours I played, but I kept hearing about bugs etc so I'm just going through the backlog a bit.

@NEStalgia Yeah, it's interesting. I have no problem with mobile games attempting the scope of a console game, but just as often this gen we are starting to see mobile business practices and expectations invading the console space. I have no tolerance for that. That kind of thing killed Mortal Kombat for me, and that was one of my favorite series.

@PuppetMaster The problem is that these gacha/ftp games will sometimes be pretty interesting, but I don't respond well to a bunch of unspoken threats/fomo/gambling. Any game that I feel is bending my arm to throw more money at it I immediately write off.
They could avoid these kinds of prejudgments by offering a full-priced version of their game in which everything is unlockable. But then the game would need to be balanced, and that sounds like a lot of work.

It could be better, but SoR4 is a nearly perfect game, especially for fans of the series. That survival mode is brilliant. Give it a go if you haven't yet.

Dang. Glad I only ever got a physical copy of Xenocrisis and not all three of the Bitmap Bureau games in that collection.

I respect journalists and get annoyed when articles like this one put a spotlight on Twitter posts etc, but then the neckbeards start screaming about how they wish they had a job in gam-I mean how TERIBBLE journalists are, and agendas, and how out of touch reviewers are, blah blah blah. Ahem. Then they go to a YouTube channel that basically just reads polygon articles and act like some influencer who is bought and sold with trips to Ubisoft HQ is the savior of artful criticism. No winning here.

It was middling to me. Bargain Basement Guardians of the Galaxy made me cringe hard. I'm pretty surprised anyone is acting excited for it at all. Astrobot was all I cared for, personally.
