Re: PS5 Pro Adds Ray Tracing to Alan Wake 2 in Big Tech Improvement

@DualWielding I mean, it's always going to be down to the developer.

And to be fair, they've done exactly that: Performance mode on PS5 Pro is an improved version of Quality mode on PS5 at 60fps.

The only alternative would be to tell Remedy they can't experiment with the raytracing, which is ridiculous.

Re: Preview: LEGO Horizon Adventures Is Looking Like the Best LEGO Game Yet

@NarutosBiggestFan It looks like there's different characters to unlock, yes.

I didn't find any collectibles, which surprised me as I was expecting that to be a big thing based on the previous games.

It doesn't seem like there are unique abilities, but again, we only got to play about 90 minutes from the start of the game.

To me, it seems a little different to other LEGO games; much more focused on gameplay than collectibles and unlockable areas.

@Northlander "The whole gaming industry is on a course of self destruction."

I'm not sure I agree really. I think we'd see a drop-off in consumers paying for these Ultimate Editions if that was the case, but from my observation — and I don't have data to support it — feels like more and more are coughing up.

I bet the average selling price for successful games in their first month is now higher than $70.

@twitchtvpat Seems likely doesn't it? Maybe a trailer for the movie at The Game Awards and then an announcement of the sequel?

On the subject of the actual movie, I think this is probably the easiest adaptation they're going to do. All it needs to be is your average teen slasher and it works fine as an Until Dawn film.

Reviews will almost certainly be bad but budget will probably be low and will likely make a nice profit if it's competent and well marketed.
