BTW for what I have seen from the gameplay videos it doesn't need any graphical upgrade - it looks pretty enough already. Unless Xbox will have any missions not on the PS4 it is all a fuss about nothing. Will still buy the PS4 version.

Surely all the game needs will be a Playstation 5 upgrade rather than a full release. Are the Xbox, PC versions going to be any different from the PS4 version? Do you really need a new version for just a cosmetic touch-up?

The game is about forgiveness and how the lack of it leads people into areas where violence is inevitable. It is interesting that you have to show Naughty Dog some forgiveness for the creative choices they made for this sequel and do your best to follow where you are trying to take you.

It is a scary time for creativity at the moment with huge internet backlashes held for every major release. The new set of Star Wars books and Hunger Games prequel have been lambasted online before any of that material has been seen. This cannot be a healthy state of affairs.

ND's story does have parallels with real life and they should be applauded for what they have tried to do. If you don't like it then fine - but the vindictive backlash they have received really is like life imitating art. Some people have made no attempt to even try to understand what ND tried but have got angry at not getting TLOU2 they wanted.

Have we got to the point where we only want to be told the stories that tell the stories we want to be told. If so that would be a shame.

Well E3 is pointless for me without Sony as I only game on the PS (other than Solitare on the laptop). I have no interest in what is on the other consoles. I have no yet bothered with a company's address.

It must be time for a FF7 release date. It has been three years.

I am determinedly tackling my backlog so it is Child of Light. On Chapter 10 so might finish it soon.

Of course it would help if the show wasn't in the middle of the night over here in Europe.

Surely the point of E3 is the communal thing where we can collectively come together and watch new trailers, get release dates and then there is the one more thing moment when we may get a complete surprise.

The one with FF7 remake and Shenmue 3 announcement will go down in history.

I am hoping that we will get a release date for FF7 and George R R Martin turns up and says he has finished the last two Game of Thrones books.

I am also hoping if I say what I did in the last paragraph often enough it will happen sooner rather than later.

Sony are going to announce that the FF7 remake will be released on 24th December 2018 and will finish the conference by announcing a new console exclusive - Half Life 3.

How's that for a surprise?

All to help me get over the disappointing news that George Martin has said the Winds of Winter will probably not be out this year. So it is keeping fingers crossed for 2019 then.

I am playing the two games I actually like this weekend Hellblade and Knack.

I am going to be a bit controversial here and say for me, subjectively, I prefer Knack to my other recent purchase XCOM 2. I know that XCOM 2 is a decent game but for a newbie it seems uninviting and too intricate. I do not want to spend time on the internet learning how to play a game with how to guides. I didn't have to do that with Persona 5 or Dark Souls. Anyway rant over.

I've said it before and I'll say it again I believe the FF7 remake and the The Winds of Winter book will see a 2018 release. I am an optimist by nature.

The artwork looks beautiful and I am looking forward to playing the game.

Some good games on that list. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a must.

How about a decent internet browser. I recently asked it to go to my football teams home page so I could watch the highlights video and it couldn't handle it.

I actually liked Syndicate. I think the fact you had two playable characters helped a lot and a fairly decent storyline.
I hope they have finished with the pointless collectables and have interesting side-quests. The murder mysteries in Syndicate were at least interesting. Better than fetch this.

It is slightly ironic that they have taken a London office just as we are leaving Europe.

Playing Just Cause 3 and it is a buggy so far. Absolutely terrible - a 3/10 game at best. Trying to climb a mountain to blow up a bridge. No idea how to get up there as the grappling hook doesn't seem to work. Everytime I want to use the options menu it tries to log in to servers it cannot find. Ridiculously poor. How three of these good made or even bought is beyond me.

Well it is just as well I renewed/extended for £30 last month then.

For me personally even £50 will just be worth it. So far I have downloaded Tales From the Borderland, Game of Thrones and will download Just Cause 3 and the Assassin Creed DLC.

It depends if you buy a lot of games every month or, like me, buy about 6-8 year and use the service and the extra discounts on sales.

I feel I just about use my subscription money - even at £50/year but it will, I think, end up being a case by case decision.

Well it won't be 2019 as that is Patcher's "expert" guess, er opinion, er analysis.

This weekend is all about Glastonbury rather than gaming. I did use my PS4 to livestream the Radiohead performance. They were ace.

I did complete Life Is Strange this week. Didn't realise it would be so dark and so good.

Monster Hunter is made for the Switch. It gives the chance for big screen play in the West and portability in Japan.

The step up in Switch's power compared to the 3DS will see the quality rise anyway.

It will still be released before the next Game of Thrones book.
They can boast they are quicker than George R R Martin.

I can wait for FF7 as there are fortunately other games to pass the time. As long as it is not delayed and a bloated mess.

After the announcement of Life Is Strange 2 how about the original game to whet the appetite of the people, like me, who haven't played it.
I also thought for Europe especially Persona 2 Eternal Punishment on the Vita/PS4 as it isn't available to buy out here. Would be a nice gesture from Atlus.

Something that isn't another bland 8-bit indie game that I'll get bored of after a couple of hours.
I would echo the call for Life Is Strange which is at least deemed to be good

Don't be that guy.

The trailer looks good but my decision will be about how much I can play offline. I have no interest in multiplayer - I have never played online and I never will. I do not have the time to play and get good enough to make online worthwhile for me. If all all the online modes had an offline choice which AI instead of other people then I would jump in. But I think the case of the original was online or nothing.
A shame for me.

Had a quick look at the ND video but I would not want anything like this for Sony. The crowd reactions from the announcements for FF7 and Last of Us 2 is priceless and is something to be enjoyed.
The ND thing seems a bit corporate and sterile for me.

Whilst the good reviews are making me happy the fact it is still a week away makes me sad.
Still I have it on pre-order so hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get home from work next Tuesday and that makes me happy again.
Then I remember that is still a week away.....

If it is like the battle system in FF15 then I'll be okay. Only they need to improve the magic/elementa for this one as it played a big part in the original. Didn't really use magic in FF15 and didn't really die.

The thing I love about the Japanese is that they are honest and don't pretend they are not perverted.

Whereas we will pretend to be outraged at this whilst loving every moment of it.

I had honestly forgotten this game but I have liked the other David Cage games. It does get its share of criticism but it you approach the game in the right manner then you can enjoy it.
My schedule is loaded so I have no problem with it being a while for the release.

Final Fantasy 15 - I have just reached the much-maligned Chapter 13. It seems okay at the moment but have saved at the first point I can.
Little Big Planet 3 will get a look as well.

Superbowl weekend this weekend so I am taking Monday off as well as it doesn't finish to about 4 am over here.
So after a sleep some more gaming on Monday - better than work.

Can I run games off an external hard drive or is just for storage that I would have to copy over to the one in my PS4?
