The big problem is with Salt and Sanctuary, Dark Souls 3 and Ratchet and Clank already out, Uncharted 4 imminent and Fallout 4 not started how much time am I going to spend playing these games.
The answer is zero. Nothing there to make me put the other games to one side.
I have never understood the hours thing in reviews. It has always taken me much longer than the hours given in the review to complete any game. I have no doubt it will take me much longer than twelve hours to complete this one.
Does this mean I am crap at video games or do other people take much longer than the times in the reviews?
Still looking forward to a new Ratchet and Clank game.
It looks like Zombi is a first-person game and I hate first-person games. The Vita games are terrible. Probably nothing for me in this months crop so I might buy either Volume or The Swindle.
On the plus side I am finally getting used to using my shield on DS2. Charging in like you can successfully do in Bloodborne gets your arse kicked in Dark Souls I have found.
I am undecided on whether to buy this game. I loved Bloodborne, my introduction to this series, but haven't been enjoying DS2 as much. The combat is so much better in Bloodborne.
I have heard DS2 isn't the best example of the Souls series but it has me pondering if I will like DS3 in the way I like Bloodborne.
The fact is that games have a lifespan as far as sales are concerned. The first week/month is very important as that is when the game should sell in its highest volume. Then the next stage is through word of mouth and then the inevitable drop in price and into the sales.
The question is after a year or even two into the games life after the release date is whether getting £5-£10 is actually better for the developer when giving as part of the PS+ is better for them especially if they have a sequel in the works.
For example Catherine got me into Atlus games. Would the publisher of Gravity Rush be better served in terms of selling GR2 with giving the game on PS+ rather than trying to flog it on PS4? I believe the sales of GR on PS4 wasn't stellar so maybe they could use GR on PS+ as a way to promote GR2.
After two years how many copies are publishers expecting to sell?
There is a US tv show called Man versus Food. After the insane host ate a renowned hot curry the UK TV critic, Charlie Brooker, proclaimed he would love to see the next day in an episode re-named Man versus Toilet.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - finished the boroughs and the side missions - section 8 onwards to the finish. Danganronpa - third murder to investigate Possibly some Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris if I have got the time
Some more Assassin's Creed Syndicate, I can't get enough of this game, and FF7.
Finally got round to downloading and playing Broforce and Galak-Z and wasn't too impressed - I remember playing games like Broforce in the Eighties but they were considered cutting edge back then.
I have never tried to get 100% in games. In games such as the Witcher and Assassin's Creed game I'll do the missions both story and side but I won't try and get all the collectables.
There is another dimension. I loved Bloodborne but have found Dark Souls 2 a chore to play. I feel I should like a Souls game as they are well made but while Bloodborne left me exhilarated there is something dead about DS2 which has me worried about DS3. How do you deal with games that feel like a chore?
Looking forward to the stream to pc option as we only have one telly and the missus has a mean right hook. Playing on the Vita isn't always easy where you need a L3/R3 button.
I think a lot of people will have already bought and played it on the Vita where it belongs. It is also not a AAA game and has been advertised nor got the hype that inferior games seem to get over here.
They would rather play an average COD game than anything slightly different but each to their own.
In answer to the reviewer's question then this game is probably for me. I am currently playing through and enjoying playing the China episode even though I am killing everyone like a psychopath.
There is enough puzzle-solving and tactics to make it interesting and it compares favourably to the obtuse and by definition boring gameplay of Grim Fandango.
Even without playing it I would wager it is worth more than a 5. Probably a 7.5.
@SonyInfinity Compared to Bloodbourne the combat is severely lacking in the Witcher 3. But then I think that pretty much every game pales into insignificance, combat-wise, to Bloodborne, even, as I said, Dark Souls 2. That should be the industry minimum. The Witcher 3, in its defense, doesn't have the worst combat either. But it could be better.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Lego Star Wars and Dark Souls 2.
DS2 is laughably poor when you compare it to Bloodborne. I know you shouldn't compare games but Bloodborne was fun to play - even when it was hard and you died. I seem to either die through not being able to use my sword because there is not enough room or bad camera angles or being stuck. Hoping to enjoy this by sticking by it.
Will decide on DS3 as to whether it is like Bloodborne or DS.
Assassins Creed Syndicate and Lego Star Wars. I have also broken my new games embargo seeing as Sony offered me Dark Souls 2 and Lords Of The Fallen for £30. Still I have a week off in February to look forward to.
Have we become so entitled these days that we go into a major meltdown because a gaming network goes down for a few hours?
When he was my age my granddad had fought in a World War, had been temporarily blinded by an enemy shell, was left with impaired hearing but he still didn't moan about unimportant things like people do today.
It went down for a few hours - it is not the end of the world.
PSN seems to be working for me. Could access PS Store and upload my game save. Is it because I was already logged in? Is it not accepting new sign ins?
Persona 5 the biggest release for me. Also looking forward to Uncharted 4, Nier, Ratchet and Clank and Gravity Rush 2.
I will only believe that The Last Guardian and Persona 5 will be released when I see the discs in the shops and in my PS4. Still not confident for a 2016 release for either of them.
My valiant attempt to clear my gaming backlog before I buy new games continues - will see how that stands when Uncharted 4 and The Witcher DLC comes out.
Assassin's Creed Unity - Final Fantasy 7 (Vita) and Lara Croft and The Temple Of Osiris this weekend.
In the UK we call it the last episode of the series. We have series not seasons. And I too will abandon if it hasn't finished by the time Doctor Who is on.
Another session of Assassin's Creed Unity. I am actually enjoying the game now and the storyline is picking up. I am just hoping that Elise is not a wrong'un.
Finished Blood and Stone - Witcher 3 DLC. Will turn my attention back to Assassin's Creed Unity - want to finish it. Has only taken a year so far - other games have called my attention more.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 115
A mixture of games on this three day bank holiday weekend.
Salt and Sanctuary, Dark Souls 3, Ratchet and Clank and some Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Played the Nioh demo. Well I say I played it. Ending up dying twice very quickly without understanding the combat. Even Dark Souls isn't that brutal.

There was a time when plus games made me do this.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 114
Salt And Sanctuary - my game of the year so far. Taken down two bosses so far.
Re: Is This the Beginning of the End for the PlayStation Vita?
When it selling over 10,000 units a week in Japan only an idiot would stop manufacturing it...for Japan.
I think they will stop selling it outside Japan however.

Some Salt n Sanctuary, the original Dark Souls and Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Re: Guide: How to Use PS4 Remote Play on Your PC, Mac
Works like a dream for me. Playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate at 720p through my wired router and it is as smooth as silk.
Re: PS4 Firmware Update 3.50 Brings Friend Notifications, PC Remote Play Tomorrow
Looking forward to remote play for the PC.
Will this mean I'll stop sucking at Dark Souls games?

Danganronpa - third murder to investigate

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 109
Assassin's Creed Syndicate (PS4) on the last borough now and then heading into the final set of missions.
Danganronpa - another foray into this mad world.
Re: Sony's Been Prepping for E3 2016 Since the Start of the Year
Seriously though we may actually get a Persona 5 release date.
Re: Sony's Been Prepping for E3 2016 Since the Start of the Year
Half-Life 3 - PS4 exclusive. Now that would be funny.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Lords of the Fallen - which is surprisingly a more satisfying game than Dark Souls 2.

FF7/Lego Star Wars on the Vita
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - PS4
Re: Hideo Kojima's PS4 Exclusive Will Blow Us Away, Apparently
Apparently the cut scenes are going to be something to behold and longer than we've ever seen before.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 105
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - have really got into the game now. Just about to take over another borough. A gang fight looms tomorrow morning.

Re: Time to Pick Your PlayStation Plus PS4 Freebie
All three games are ones that I'll download, play a couple of times and then forget about them until I delete them on my annual purge in January.
I don't think I'll bother voting and just see what game I forget about in March.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 100
Some Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Also had some money left over so bought Lego Star Wars: Clone Wars and Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night.
Also started Grim Fandango but I am not too sure if I can be bothered working out the obtuse puzzles.
Re: Feature: 20 Japanese PS4 Games to Watch in 2016
Persona 5 and Gravity Rush 2 are must buys for me.
Nier and God Eater also pique my interest.

Assassin's Creed Unity - Final Fantasy 7 (Vita) and Lara Croft and The Temple Of Osiris this weekend.
Re: Hideo Kojima Is Allegedly in Talks with Sony
Loud Mountains is coming. I do wonder whether Konami will sell the IP to Sony or just keep it out of spite.
Re: Looks Like Star Wars 1313 May Happen After All
How about a GOOD Han Solo game from his pre-Star Wars time?
A mixture of Elite and GTA. Or GTA in space with Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Falcon.
Re: Sony's Open to Acquiring Additional First-Party Studios
I agree with Kojima - let him make the Loud Mountains game with del Toro.
How about Sony buy the Half Life makers and keep Half-Life 3 a PS4 exclusive. That would ruffle a few feathers.
I would have also paid for Shenmue 3 and not make it a Kickstarter.
Finally Atlus as I love the Persona games.
Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Experience 2015 Meet Your Expectations?
FF7 and Ratchet and Clank were highlights for me.
Don't care about VR in the slightest. Too much time spent on that for me.
Re: Guide: What Time Is Sony's PlayStation Experience 2015 Press Conference?
In the UK we call it the last episode of the series. We have series not seasons. And I too will abandon if it hasn't finished by the time Doctor Who is on.
Fingers crossed for Persona 5 news.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 96
Assassin's Creed Unity - just had a lovely balloon ride - and some Football Manager 2016.
Re: Poll: Take the Push Square PlayStation Experience 2015 Community Predictions Quiz
A 2016 EU release date for Persona 5 would be nice.
Re: Which December PlayStation Plus Games Do You Desire?
How about Lords of the Fallen and Diablo 3?
Selfish of me as I have neither but they would be good Christmas presents from Sony.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 94
Another session of Assassin's Creed Unity. I am actually enjoying the game now and the storyline is picking up. I am just hoping that Elise is not a wrong'un.
Re: Feature: 25 Games That Will Make PS4's 2016 Insane
A lot of good games on that list - I wonder if my boss will let me have next year off and still pay me.
Although I don't believe for a moment that either Persona 5 or The Last Guardian will be out in 2016...or 2017 for that matter.
Does this mean there won't be an annual release of Assassin's Creed then?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 93
Finished Blood and Stone - Witcher 3 DLC. Will turn my attention back to Assassin's Creed Unity - want to finish it. Has only taken a year so far - other games have called my attention more.
Re: Fallout 4 Looks and Plays Fantastic on the Vita
If Sony had any sense they would help that company peddle the R2/L2 trigger casings pronto...
....and lower the price of memory cards.
Re: Your PlayStation Plus Freebies for November Are Out Now
Magicka 2 downloading. BGAE and Dragon Fin Soup to be done. One for each of my consoles.
