@FuriousMachine My tolerance for creepy anime hijinks is pretty low. I can handle a few weird comments in an otherwise excellent Persona game, or something like Danganronpa with an excellent story that occasionally veers into weirdness, but considering this is half dating game my spider senses are tingling on this one.

I thought this looked good when it was first announced, but this write-up has totally changed my mind on it. I can't do the weird anime perv 'em up thing.

I'd be surprised if it was exclusive, and it doesn't really jive with Microsoft wanting everyone to just play games wherever they like we just want to put a smile on every child's face wink wink PR rubbish, but who knows. If it is I'll just not play it.

This is a video game that seems like it was made specifically to be the least appealing game to me that was ever made.

Oh no I can't believe the Tactics one looks like that. Hate that art style.

I thought this looked great. Survival horror is a perfect fit for this series.

It swung wildly from really good to spectacularly bad. It was impressively all over the place. I only watched it hoping to see Cyberpunk, and while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth looked exciting and nostalgic and wonderful, I'm not falling for that again.

I am so excited for this.

I'm subbed to Premium, mainly because I wanted the PS1 games but I've only ever played one of them. I'm not sure if I've even played any other games from the service. I should probably stop paying for it.

If all this remake is is exactly the same game but it looks pretty and they've taken out the jump rope trophy I'll be happy.

I think I got the platinum in both of these games but I still think about going back to them every now and again. Love a bit of dinosaur.

I'm actually fine with this. If all the remake is is exactly the same game but it looks pretty and plays better than that's absolutely right by me. I don't need a Final Fantasy VII Remake situation here.

The dinosaur game is good and I always wanted to play Trek to Yomi. Basketball seems like an odd pick for everywhere that isn't America like, you know, the rest of the world.

I'm not sold on this. Without Kojima and from a studio I'm not sure about who knows? But the base game they're working from is great. I'll wait to see how it reviews.

Hey, do you think PlayStation - known for their high quality single player games - pivoting to make loads of multiplayer games was maybe a bad idea?

@Stormageddon I don't think it's the timing that makes it tone deaf. It's more the fact that the game is about people robbing the rich (okay so far) by killing other poor people trying to rob the rich (not so good). It's like if the story of Robin Hood had him strangling a half dozen old women before he got to the Sheriff of Nottingham.

It doesn't make much sense. The theme and the genre of game are at odds with each other. This would make more sense as a pure co-op heist thing like the GTA online ones or something. As is, it's tone deaf and weird.

The biggest winner was Xbox who had their best showcase in years and they didn't even have to lift a finger, while their biggest competitor dropped their trousers and bared their rump for the world to see.

The biggest loser is Sony's live service plans.

I don't think I even care anymore. I played the first one online a bit but unless there's a story mode there's no way I'll buy this. At this point it just feels like the game is a waste of Naughty Dog when they could have been making something else.

It's a spectacularly stupid concept. A bunch of poor people murdering each other to steal from a rich person. Colour the whole thing up in Ubisoft Chic and what have a you got? A game that will have its servers shut down a year after launch probably.

To be fair, this statement was probably planned before the showcase went down like a lead balloon, but still... read the room, man.

This looks like it was designed by an AI and the only instructions the AI was given was to make a trailer for a generic multiplayer shooter with 'tude.

If they show Five Nights At Freddy's at one more showcase I'm selling my PlayStation and buying an Xbox.

@JohntheRaptor With no technical problems I'd have gone 7 probably. It's good. But it's a notable step behind other games in the genre like the excellent XCOM2. I would always say this is the sort of game that - if you're a big fan of tactics games - you play to tide you over between bigger games.

It was terrible. They'd actually have been better off not having one and waiting until they had things to show because all of build up and excitement is gone now.

I think it's easily the worst PlayStation major event since the early PS4, maybe even into the PS3 gen. Even the mad E3 where they went to intermissions was better because at least they warned us up front it would be focused on four games.

It's concerning how many generic looking multiplayer titles were on show too. The Haven game was grim. That poundshop Splatoon was embarrassing. At least Marathon had a cool soundtrack but its just another multiplayer shooter so...?

Imagine being so annoyed that a character that isn't real can have a totally optional kiss that you have to make them do with another character that isn't real, in a world that doesn't exist, that you send an angry message to a person who sang a song that played while it was happening.

Every single person that sent her a hate message about this should be superglued to a rocket and fired into the sun.

I'm unreasonably excited to play this game.

Elden Ring deserves to be huge. It's one of the best games of all times.

I don't think it'll go above 90 on Metacritic and I don't care and neither should anybody else.

I realised my boyhood dream of reviewing a Final Fantasy game and it was the worst one. It's lower than Dirge of Cerberus.

@Feena It should be noted that I am a big fan of Street Fighter II and played it for hundreds of hours and all of the more modern 3D ones have looked weird to me, although I liked the painting thing they did with IV. This gives me Fortnite and Destruction Allstars vibes.

@get2sammyb I don't know :') I don't play Street Fighter (at least since II, and a little IV) so I haven't been following it. I just saw the pictures and hated it.

I'm not the target audience for this game.

The art direction in this game is absolutely vile.

I can't get excited for this. I was bored watching the trailer and it was only two minutes long. Giant mech things just don't do it for me.

Mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I just wanted this thing to be over so it would stop dominating the news cycle and everyone could just get on with making games, but on the other hand this is really, really, really funny.

I hate this let's buy everyone thing that's going on right now but at least this is a studio that makes literally zero impact on me.

I always thought Ashe should have been the main character. Or Balthier. Or Basch. Basically, any of the playable characters except Penelo would have been a better choice to focus the story around. But no. It had to be the Backstreet Boy.

I didn't like the first one but I'll still give this one a go.

I just want to note that I think the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trophy lists are excellent because they have individual platinum trophies and then a separate fourth list that gives you trophies based on things you did across all three games. I would like to see more of that.

Anyway, I'm thrilled these games all have platinums. I thought they would but it's lovely to see it confirmed. The game is afoot.
