People: what a load of ********.

After playing and beating the game at launch, I finally went back and tried hardcore mode (all negative perks) on the first game. It is SO MUCH fun. There are a few negative perks I could do without (Numbskull turns progress into a grind) but I love the lack of fast travel and the need to truly navigate. Hardcore is just how I'm going to play both games from now on.

And that's why I'm switching from Premium to Essential this month! Well... that AND my own personal playing and buying habits.

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare It was on sale on PSN for that much just a couple weeks ago. I think it was one of their weekend sales that was only in effect for a couple days.

JUST picked up Robocop for $10 on the weekend sale a couple weeks back. Oh well. A month of asymmetrical multiplayer with the rest of the free folk could be fun too.

After bouncing off all prior Souls-likes, Bloodborne was the first (and so far only) one that clicked for me.

My premium is about to become an essential so it seems like as good a time as any to grab Dying Light 2.

If this gets rid of the flashing, then Jesus Christ be praised, etc.

@ShogunRok Thank you. That probably makes the most sense. I'm seriously considering playing it in canon mode when I eventually get to it.

Just curious but... how are romances handled in that "canon mode" that's newly available? Do you still get to choose, are the romances removed, or do they pick one for you?

@ChrisDeku I mean more. The quick turnaround just feels like a "we could be making even more money if we add more mtx, etc." move to me. But it's just a guess.

Haircuts are nice but I want hardcore! Bug fixes are always welcome but I'm looking to punish myself.

The final XBox's power wil be eclipsed by it's sudden and inevitable failure. Years later people will still talk about what a shame it was that it failed because it was capable of so much. This is a certainty because people insist on making the same mistakes over and over again.

I'm approaching the level cap so I assume that I'm nearing the end of the story. I'll likely take a small break between playthroughs but I'm going to dive back in on hardcore pretty quickly.

Gears 3 was some of the only multiplayer content that I ever played so it's a bit of a shame. But so long as some form of Gears MP lands on PlayStation eventually, I'll probably give it another go.

I'd like a low effort port of GTA IV that offers no quality of life updates, no remastering, and no options for better frame rates. I'd also like it if it was nearly the same price as a brand new game. I shall not be disappointed.

Never played Hardcore in the first one but I am itching to try it on this one. Having played the first so many times, the sequel is a bit easy in certain areas so I'm hoping that Hardcore reintroduces the struggle.

SS failed for all the reasons already gone over. Quidditch failed because it's a ridiculously poorly designed game (the creator, not the devs). So how the hell does that translate to "Let's cancel the game that actually fits what our customers want?" Executives who aren't familiar with their own industry are a plague.

I'm still getting the flashes even after turning on motion blur so I hope this patch addressed that too. I've had a couple crashes and I ran into the bit with Pavlena referenced in the notes. Overall, it's run really well but I welcome any improvements.

When Suicide Squad was given away on PS+, I tried it for a couple hours. The only reason why I didn't turn it off after the first encounter was because I was enjoying the story and cutscenes a lot. After a few more encounters, I was done though. Give me that Arkham gameplay back and I'm sure Rocksteady will crush it again. But good Lord, don't be an exclusive to any system!

No one was forced to make live service. They were just made to feel that no project would be approved if it wasn't. That's some hair splitting that only an executive (even a good one like Shu) could ever pull off.

I'm the opposite. I've been Premium since it became available and I plan on dropping to Essential next month when it expires. I've simply been buying more games and don't have a need to gamble on whether games I'd like to play are on the service or not.

It's quite something to be playing a game for the first time that I'm pretty sure will be my favorite game ever. Fortunately savoring it slowly is part of it.

I want a personal apology for what they've forced Bluepoint to work on and an announcement that they're working on Bloodborne II as an offer of recompense.

I was too deep into KCD2 which had downloaded earlier in the week. Didn't even know there was a problem until I tried checking my trophies.

Like Mass Effect, I'm surprised at how little I care. Once beloved franchises that squandered all good will.

3 hours to go before I get home and start it up. Couldn't be happier for the devs over the outstanding reviews. Sounds like they learned all the right lessons from the first, which was my #1 game of the PS4 generation.

I don't know how interested I'd be in revisiting the older Fable titles on PS5 but I'd really like the new one to be there eventually.

The fix for the quest Run This Town comes one week too late to help me. Glad everyone else will be able to make it through the mission without a fight though.

My outrage comes from the fact that it was BluePoint who was working on it, not the IP. If Bend had been working on a live service God of War, I'd have merely been disappointed.

The fact that a new Mass Effect game is on the way and that I don't much care is a testament to how poorly BioWare has been run in the past decade. I'm looking elsewhere to scratch that Mass Effect itch. I'm more likely to pre-order Exodus than I am this new Mass Effect game, coming in 2028.

If it's anything like the DLC for the first game, it'll be well worth it. And yeah, if you want to play the game once, probably best to wait for the "Royal Edition." But I know that I'll be going through this one multiple times so I'm still there day one with the deluxe edition pre-ordered. It's my turn to be part of the problem!
