Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Final Fantasy 16

Ashina

This is my personal goty this year, though it was a tie between this and AC6 but I'll give it to FF16 since I enjoyed the story and characters in that game. On the other hand, I'll give it to AC6 for having a fun gameplay overall

Re: All The Game Awards 2023 Winners

Ashina

This year had been an amazing year for games in general. Regardless of which game won, I think we had plenty for 2023. I'm just happy that there's a lot of great games for everyone to choose from for this year

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Is Happening on PS5 in 2025

Ashina

Gotta thank Rise for finally getting into the MH games so I can look forward to this as well.

Looks like Capcom will be skipping Switch and that's to be expected. Nintendo might want to announce their next gen console if they want that new MH sugar

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS5 'Slim'?

Ashina

I already have a PS5 so there's no reason for me to get this new model but even if I still don't own one, I'd still get the Fat model. Not that I hate the slimmer design, I just have a history of owning the OG PS console designs since the PS1 era

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's World Is Starting to Sound Absolutely Massive

Ashina

@Darklaw Not as restricted as FFXV lol. Traversal in Elden Ring allows you to jump/climb cliffs fairly easily (though you could die in most cases if you jump off on the wrong cliff lol), same with BoTW, ToTK, Pokemon SV, Genshin Impact, AC Odyssey, AC Valhalla. pretty much most open-world games with similar settings. FFXV's open world just feels limited due to lack of how you can traverse its world despite having a large map. The only limitations in those games I mentioned are the boundaries at the end of their maps.

Re: Jim Ryan Retires as PlayStation Boss in March 2024

Ashina

Very unlikely but whoever becomes the next CEO, please fix your Japanese market and try to bring back Japan Studios if you can. I'm still mad for it being shut down. I still want a new Gravity Rush game, possible sequel to Blooodborne and a new Ape Escape game

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's World Is Starting to Sound Absolutely Massive

Ashina

@Darklaw We're just talking video games here, lol. Obviously I'm not gonna go to places where I shouldn't be IRL. BotW/ToTK lets you explore almost anywhere with how you can traverse vertically. Any recent Assassins' Creed game, Genshin, even Pokémon SV lets you do it. Point being, with how big the map of FFXV, the traversal really feels restrictive in terms of exploration compared to most open-world games

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's World Is Starting to Sound Absolutely Massive

Ashina

Really excited for this but I have concerns considering most open-world games being empty. This was my problem with FFXV's map being large and all but it feels so empty and exploration is very limited before you hit a wall. Though FF7 Rebirth's map looks more traversable compared to FFXV (and you can even swim). I really hope there's something more to explore but otherwise, I'm excited for this just for the fact that it's FF7

Re: Preview: Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail Dev Has Quietly Become a PS5, PS4 Powerhouse

Ashina

Can't blame those who are turned off by these kind of game's gacha mechanics. My personal experience with Genshin is that it least it feels the least scummy when it comes to gacha. You can play the game without paying for anything and still be fine (sure you can pull every now every now and then with their free Primogems that you can collect from time to time). Though this is one of those live-service games that you had to be there from the start or otherwise, you'd be overwhelmed by the story contents and events.

Re: FromSoftware Still Can't Get the Frame Rate Right in Armored Core 6, PS5 Analysis Shows

Ashina

Played the game from start to finish and the framerate dip wasn't that big deal for me. While I prefer smoother framerates nowadays, the dip in framerate for this game wasn't all that bad and most of the time, barely noticeable.

Then again, I guess I'm just used to 30fps and some framerate dipping considering I also play on Switch and some older consoles. Also Bloodborne in 30fps still looks great and cinematic imo.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023?

Ashina

Little Nightmares 3 was a welcoming surprise. Granblue Fantasy Relink finally getting a release date. Was expecting ZZZ to have a PS5 announcement (but I feel it's only a matter of time) and was really hoping to get an actual release date for Honkai Star Rail. Crimon Desert looks interesting but still needs some PS5 details
