I still don't know how Genshin fits in the category (then again, a lot of the categories in Game Awards don't make sense sometimes, like they just want to award something or someone for the sake of having an award). Genshin fits more with the best on-going game but then FFXIV beat them to it. Regardless of who won, I think both games are fun. Genshin has a lot of contents lately albeit the gacha mechanics but I've had enough characters to get me going. Sonic Frontiers is surprisingly fun as well, it does try to be as BoTW as it can with the open-world map but still fun for what it offers.
Pretty happy about it. As expected, it's a battle between GoW Ragnarok and Elden Ring but the highlights for me are the world premiers, especially Armored Core VI. Congrats to Elden Ring and Miyazaki's team. TBH, I'm fine with either GoW Ragnarok or Elden Ring winning. Kinda felt bad for HFW and Xenoblades 3 tho, especially XB3, I really enjoyed its story and gameplay
Still unsure if I'll be getting this on either PS5 or Switch. I still have my copy of the PS4 version. I can get it on the Switch but lately, I haven't been gaming on the go due to work and I usually end up playing at home. I am tempted to get the PS5 version but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay another full price just for the 60fps upgrade. I might just end up sticking with the PS4 version. Still sucks that there's no way to upgrade. Hell, I'm willing to pay that $10 fee if required.
Jokes aside, Bloodborne has been getting more attention for the wrong reasons. This isn't helping. Sony really needs to step up their game. If there's any Sony first party game that needs a remaster treatment, it's Bloodborne
So glad I was finally able to secure a PS5 (despite the lack of actual exclusives). This is an even hyped trailer and I would have gone crazy if I still don't have a PS5 by the time of release.
They're playing us like a damn fiddle. Next thing you know they'll do the same for Gravity Rush without giving GR2 a performance boost nor a remaster treatment.
Only played and beat SH2 once. Tried replaying it with the HD remaster on PS3 but somehow I just couldn't get into it. This is the perfect opportunity to replay the game
I have the game on the Switch and some bosses definitely needed the nerfing. Much as I appreciate challenges, some battles are just frustrating. So glad of this nerfing tbh. Now if only we can get some dialogue skips next, this game will be perfect.
It's the Mario Kart 8 effect. Then again, there's really nothing innovative with this Saints Row remake. It's just your average open-world formula kind of game.
Sony really needs to do better with their indies after that controversy about their lack of support for the smaller indie devs. I appreciate Shuhei Yoshida's support but they need to do better and make the devs feel more welcomed. Jim Ryan's words aren't enough and we need to see more from Sony
Understandable but still disappointing. I've been gaming since the PS1 era and majority of the games I've enjoyed are JRPG. Over the years, the genre has become niche and only a few people are invested. If it weren't for the Switch's sucess, JRPG may have died in today's era of gaming. Such a shame that Sony aren't as invested as they were back then (unless they came from bigger companies like Square Enix). At least Nintendo is still interested in it which is why the Switch has been a JRPG heaven.
Normally, I don't mind a 30fps on a game..... but this was a game dated way back to the Gamecube era and should run well at 60. Even the Switch can handle that
As if an AC based Japan game wasn't enough and now we have this, as well as Like a Dragon Ishin. Definitely going to look forward to this. More feudal Japan based games for me to play.
I say both Sony and Nintendo delivered with their respective presentations. Definitely going to look forward to that Ronin game and the Yakuza Ishin. More feudal Japan games is good. Stellar Blade looks great too.
So many great games on both sides and my wallet is the only one not happy.
Nintendo Direct and a PS SoP that is mostly from Japanese devs on the same day? Is this an out of season E3? Well it's a win-win for me that's for sure.
So much potential here and happy that they achieved their goal. I just hope they don't rush this and take their time to polish the game. Definitely looking forward to this alongside Eiyuden Chronicle
I'm all for it. I'm a sucker for anything based on Japanese history. Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro, Nioh 1&2 and now an AC game set in Japan will be a great addition
No doubt that's what they will do in the long run. I just hope Sony will also do more variety that is not a cinematic, 3rd person over-the-shoulder action games. We need more in the rpg, jrpg, survival horror, fighting, etc. department.
This is based on how many Japanese fans? Did they ever made a survey out of this? If so, what is the result and how many responded? Problem with modern journalism is how they would generalize everything. You see three or four people giving an opinion on said matter and these "journalists" assume and/or make it sound like it's the entire mass of people that voiced out their concern just for the sake of drama and to paint a company as evil.
There's no doubt that Sony shot themselves on the foot with the recent announcement for a price increase but this is just another one of those topics that tries hard to rub Sony the wrong way.
Unfortunately, this will leave that kind of impression to most people, not understanding the real context. You'd think many will learn not to fall for clickbaits but the sad reality is that, there are plenty who will believe these kind of articles
Well, its been a terrible week to be a PS fan. Hate to say it but the moment they dropped their next showcase and once Dad of Boi 2 releases, all will be forgotten.
You know you screwed up bad when even Nintendo had to make a statement. They're usually quiet with the competitions and let their sales do the talking. TBF though, Switch is already an aging console so it would be weird to have its price increased, even with the OLED model.
Feels like people are now just nitpicking just to find something to complain about this game. NGL, I was very skeptical of this when seeing that IGN open-world gameplay due to how empty it looks and feel. Then the Nintendo direct showed more and I was actually surprised with the level designs and thought it's what should have been shown first as a gameplay footage. Regardless, it got me excited to try Sonic Frontiers
Now, I admit that I did not play that many 3D Sonic games so I won't be able to tell what was copied from what but I see this as a good thing since I'll be able to experience these levels without thinking "oh, this was the same level as [insert level from previous Sonic games here]".
This better be an animated movie tho. Still prefer new GR game but I'm desparate for anything Gravity Rush right now and they better not screw this one.
It's unfortunate that such claims had to escalate to the point that a dev had to step in to debunk this. Unfortunately, the damage has been done and idiots on SNS will still believe earlier claims
What a disgrace to one of my all-time favorite video games. You can milk the crap out of FF7, Square but this is just disgusting. You guys slowly becoming Shinra corp. with this villainous act
It'd be sad if all this is going to offer is a framerate boost and maybe include the DLCs but still, not enough to justify their reasoning of purchase the game again. At least offer a $10 upgrade to those who already owned the game instead of buying it again.
Just keep dropping them underrated JRPG from PSP. So many hidden gems in that handheld that it's criminal. Hopefully, we get to see more. Would love to see Dissidia 012 playable on PS4/PS5 one day
Just give me a downloadable version at least. I really hate that it's stream version only. Times like these, I'm really glad I still have a Vita and PS3. But it would be nice to see these being played in modern consoles natively
It looks rough in the first trailer but at the same time, it looks promising and we haven't had any major Valkyrie games for a long time so I'm going to look forward to this one. I just hope that by the time it gets released, it looks polished enough.
Reminds me of the .Hack// games. I do like this approach. I hope the 3rd part is actually a much larger scale considering that post-midgar pretty much allow you to explore the overworld. Regardless, I'm really happy with this decision as it allows for the games to be remade with more quality.
I just hope that Nomura won't make the FF7 lore too convoluted than what it was before
