Well, time to really get a PS5 now. FFXVI and FF7R part 2 is all you need to convince me to get a PS5, Sony. Also didn't expect a next year release, it's on Winter but still, didn't expect that early
Okay, I knew it was coming but still, the hype is real! I didn't expect for this remake to look this good! It's like Type-0 HD again with its polishing.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to cry that much again tho.
I'm likely going to check out (and sneak out from work) to watch FF7 25th Anniversary event for a potential FF7R pt.2 and Crisis Core remake/remaster. I've only played Dragon's Dogma for a few hours on the Switch so I don't have any strong attachments to the franchise. I'm still going to check out Capcom's event as a replay
@Colour Err, yes. It's clear that Nomura would want to go for a different path after that ending in FF7R creating an alternate story of some sort. Crisis Core is a direct continuation of the OG FF7
Never understood the logic behind this. It's one thing to pay for the trailers to be presented at your own presentation but what good will this do? If the intent is to spark arguments over SNS then it's working and definitely gotten certain fanboys argue.
@trafficfiveo Hopefully, Nintendo has been quiet all the time and I feel a storm is coming. Only a matter of time before we can actually learn if these Persona games will also be ported to Switch
@Dr-M Yeah, I've played it on the OG PS2 way back then. For downgrades, mostly on visual. P3P is mostly like you playing a visual novel outside of Tartarus whereas in the OG PS2 games, you have full 3D characters. Some cutscenes are also missing in the Portable versions which are turned into stock images. Lastly, no The Answer path for P3P sadly, which is a great aftermath story
Of course, if this won't bother you, you're still going to enjoy P3P. Like I said, it still has some quality of life improvements from the original. Best improvement is that you can now have complete control over your party members.
Yeah it's strange we're getting the P3P version (which I've played dozens of time on my PSP anyway). Better than nothing and can't complaint much with how much quality of life improvements it had despite some downgrades.
Still nice we're getting it on PS5 but weird that PS4 was left out. Any news for a Switch port?
ngl, I did not expect a 2023 release. Thought the year was still far too early but hey, the sooner the better. I just need to secure a PS5 before summer next year.
Finally, I was waiting for this to get a remaster. I played this back in the PS2 era but never get to finish it. Now let's hope Muramasa gets a proper HD port as well.
My all-time favorite Final Fantasy game (though I'm still on debate whether this or FFVII but in terms of story, characters and emotion, FFIX is winning). Hope they get this right and please no convoluted plots.
Please just let this be the end of Sora's story at least. I don't think I'll live long enough to keep waiting for whatever future KH story will be out there
Whatever it is, please let it not be Fromsoftware nor Square Enix. I would prefer that those companies work as 3rd party developers and whatever platform they feel like working on. I'm okay if this is Konami, it makes more sense anyway with their history with Sony
Would have been a perfect opportunity to get more Vita games exposed to major PS fans. Oh well, Freedom Wars, Muramasa Rebirth and Uncharted Golden Abyss will need to sit on the corner indefinitely yet again.
Eh, I much prefer buying the games I like once and keep them forever. If I like the game then I'm willing to pay for it and if not then I'll just ignore it. Game services are convenient and all but at the end of the day, the games are locked behind a paywall and I had to keep paying just to have them on my library and there's always the fact that games can just be removed from the service with just a snap of a finger.
Will we have access to the extensive libraries of PS2 games tho? Can I finally play P3 Fes on my PS4/PS5? Why not include the Vita library, so many games are stuck in that system that needs exposure
@RatmCky Kinda hopeful that Capcom will pull a Project REsistance kind of announcement where they will first announce a multiplayer game then later on, they will announce a tie-in single player game, in this case, Dino Crisis.
Anyways, I do think that people are talking about Dino Crisis by now and let's just hope Capcom will listen.
I love Gundam but this may be a pass for me. SD Gundam Battle Alliance looks far more interesting IMO. Still hoping for a stand-alone Gundam Battle Operation game and still dreaming of an Armored Core style of Gundam game (Gundam Breaker is nice and all but I want something that has more war-themed in terms of story and lore)
Quite an interesting lineup. I can totally understand that this will not appeal to the majority of viewers but this sure is an interesting SOP and pretty unique selection of games
Yeah, it felt like Ghostwire Tokyo's trailer during today's SOP felt obligated. We already had a separate SOP so it's weird seeing this game again in today's presentation. I will still play Ghostwire since it looks very unique but I don't think the game needs to be presented every single time.
Interesting that it is action-RPG. When SE trademarked Valkyrie Elysium, I thought they'd go back to something more tradional turn-based RPG. Still looks great and will be keeping my eyes out on this. Also happy that it is still coming out on PS4.
ngl, with how the overworld map was shown at 0:30, I immediately thought of Final Fantasy Type-0 and thought maybe this will be tied within that game's lore. Still an interesting title and worth checking out.
I think we can all agree that the moment we saw the girl with red hair, we all thought Dino Crisis. I sure hope Capcom will still announce a Dino Crisis game.
I'll download the Demo, so far everything I've seen about this game has been interesting. The first trailer of SOP FF Origin was rough but you can't really judge the game based on that alone. It won me over with some of the recent announcements. Ready to kill Chaos, day one (or can I?)
Overall some interesting games. I'd say I'll try out most of what was announced here. The way how the games were presented just feels underwhelming but all things considered, at the end of the day, it's the games that were announced that is important so I'm satisfied with this SOP
It was okay, I suppose. Some interesting titles especially from SE. Valkyrie Elysium was the highlight for me. Kinda wish they didn't waste time with Ghostwire Tokyo and Forespoken. I mean, they'd be great games but we know a lot about those games by now. Also thought they'll be announcing a new Dino Crisis game but that wasn't the case (maybe in a good way since that's a rather, uh, "interesting" game I suppose.
I don't see Legend of Mana playlist yet, which are some of my all time favorites from Yoko Shimomura but I'd assume it will be added soon. It's nice that we can finally listen to these soundtracks on YT without any fear of removal. I'll be blasting them FF9 soundtracks for sure
Oh my, focused on the Japanese publishers? I must be dreaming, Sony. Well, I hope to finally see something new about Final Fantasy XVI but hey, this is still great regardless.
lmao, how many more of this debate do we need? Souls games are punishing games but once you learn the mechanics and the patterns of some enemies, the game can be less challenging. I've been playing souls games for years now, and by no means I'm an expert with souls games and provided that I still die a lot, it doesn't mean I'm just going to beg FromSoftware to make their games easier, it just means I have to "git gud". Yeah, that infamous phrase has been said many times now by souls fans but there's truth in that. You just have to get better in the game. And if you can't overcome the challenges provided by Souls games, you may want to look for another game to play.
14 hrs into the game, beaten the Tree Sentinel, Godrick and Flying Dragon Agheel. Most of my time are spent on exploration and raiding enemy camps (and dying, like lots and lots of dying). Haven't spent too much time with Elden Ring since I'm switching between games like Arceus (especially with the recent update) and more.
I really enjoyed the Cyber Sleuth games. I was expecting another Pokémon clone kind of game but somehow, it didn't felt that way. To me, they felt something closer to that of a Megami Tensei game, likely because of the artstyle and gameplay but yeah, they're much closer to the SMT series than Pokémon. Anyway, I'm looking forward for more Digimon Story games than Survive.
Pre-ordered it and I'm enjoying the exploration. It feels rather fresh to go open-world with a souls game though once you enter a dungeon or castle, that's the time it feels much closer to the previous souls games. Anyway, I'm not going to rush Elden Ring, I want to be absorbed by its open environment like BoTW and Arceus.
I wish they're more regular sized than SD but hey, a new Gundam game is always a welcome. Also, AGE is once again left out. Wing Zero will definitely be on my team for most of the time. Same with the 00 Raiser and Barbatos Lupus
The gaming world is getting smaller and smaller and it's scary. There will be a day where Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are the only major gaming companies, each one owning every big 3rd party game companies with the only ones left being the indie devs. This game of monopoly is truly scary and I'm not ready for that future.
ngl, I passed on this one because I wasn't that fond of the first-person perspective and the idea of playing as a new generic guy instead of the already established characters.
I finally played RE7 after RE Village (crazy that I played it first, I know) and loved it. The FPS didn't bother me as much and actually having new MC makes more sense and definitely makes the game scarier. I still prefer the 3rd person view of RE4 and RE2 remake but I don't mind the first person view of both RE7 and RE8 anymore.
If the game starred either Chris or Leon (in their prime) I think it will lose any fear factor. Heck, playing the Not a Hero DLC feels more like a typical shooter. Overall a great game and I'm glad that I got to play it.
Either a State of Play or Nintendo direct may happen (I'm fine with either but it would be great if we get both this Feb). Never had the chance to play Chrono Cross back then but I'd definitely play this if there's a remaster to be announced
Eh, I don't think Sony should go out panic buying just because of the recent acquisition from MS. They should just continue working with the current studios that they own. They already have all the talent and all they have to do is to keep ironing out their library of exclusive games.

A remaster would be sweet but I'd like to see Crisis Core's story redone in FF7 Remake, even if just some few parts of it.
Re: PS4 Versions Only for Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable
Weird but glad that P3P and P4G are now confirmed for the PS4. Definitely a day 1 purchase here.

Just give me Suikoden II and Breath of Fire IV, Sony and we're good. Ape Escape and Resident Evil DE are some great add-ons
Re: Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden Confirmed for PS5
@ShogunRok bummer but supposed that this "rumor" about a Nintendo direct in late June is true, we might get some announcement there (or probably not).

2. Muramasa Rebirth
3. Odin Sphere
4. Dragon's Crown
5. Persona 4 Golden
6. FFX HD
7. Freedom Wars
8. Ragnarok Odyssey ACE
9. Disgaea 4
10. Super Robot Wars X

need more details on what games will be available but I'm tempted to try out some PS2 games. Hopefully there more JRPG in it
