@XenonKnight It came out early Sept 2022 so they are moving to yearly edtions it seems rather than every 2 years.

Since 2020 the studio has really gone down hill. It was already not great but they killed off several good franchises to basically stick to AC and to buy up IP. The only thing they have going for them is that they have good game engine optimisation although we will see about the new engine.

@PixelDragon I mean to be fair Xbox Series X/S has sold nearly 25 million units so it's not that bad. They don't need to sell PS/Switch numbers, they just need the console side to compliment thier PC and mobile offer which it is doing. If the next console for Xbox does not do as well I can imagine they would revert to software and cloud only. One day in the future Sony will deem making consoles not viable. It will just be different times for diffrent busineses.

I'll be playing on PS Plus and it's also on Gamepass but it's great to give the option for those that want it.

Guessing the money goes to the individual who put the case up against EA? Good on that person for winning the case.

Looks like fun! with a packed Sept and a busy oct with catching up with those games plus spiderman, i'll prob pick this one up in Nov/Dec (Might even have a bit of a discount by then).

Will be watching this to see more of RoboCop!

Wrong place to ask really, guessing most of the hardcore PS fans that would be on here wouldn't buy or play the game again. Might be the odd few though.

Looking forward to playing the DLC! plus there should be some big base game updates too.

@poetwarlord Most of the staff are working on the next GTA game with the rest working on the RD and GTA online modes. That's why they outsource most of the remasters and ports now.

BG3 down to 96 now, with 47 reviews. I think it will end up around the 94/95 mark the same as the glorious Persona 5 Royal (PS4).

Great game, I hope lot's of new players can enjoy the rest of the RDR2 story like I got to.

Also its £40 not £50 for those who couldn't figure out the trans-atlantic conversion rate.

Looks pretty good for a 13 year old game. There are games that have come at this year that have been nowhere near as good! Says a lot about the enduring quality. £40 is a decent price for a new player. It won't offer anything new for old players though.

They wouldn't have won doing it either way as there is always a smaller group of players who just like to moan.

I plan to be playing this from the 2nd Sept and Starfield from the 1st. I'll also take a nice side helping of Eternights and Robocop towards the end of the month. I'll even throw in some FC 24 and try out that new Truck Driver game.

I basically decided to take the whole of Sept off for holiday - I think I will need it for this many games

It would be nice to see more of Rise of Ronin, which looks like it will be out early 2024. A bit more of Like a Dragon 8 would be nice too!

Got a feeling the updated PS5 and project Q will be showing up here if there is no Sony Showcase in the next couple of weeks.

Decided to pre order this for the PS5. Would have got it for PC if mine was capable and would have been a great way to pass time until Starfield. Now I will play both together before Enternights and the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC come out later in the month.

@BeenGamingSince_83 I did presume they would use the rdr2 map and tech to speed up a remake but looks like they are focusing their dev teams on GTA. I guess we'll all see if there is any upscaling tech which has been used on Xbox to good effect.

I mean it's a great game that still holds up well against most modern day releases, I honestly don't think any new player would complain with paying £40 for a large and well developed game. Obviously if you have played it like most of us echo chamberlords then it isn't worth it. It will sell well.

I for one never finished RDR so I may get it. There will be a signifcant number of younger players who are now old enough to play/understand the game.

Definitely thinking about picking this one up. I do wish it was out this month on console rather than the insanely stacked September. I'll be well into Starfield and heading towards eternights by that point

Will be playing this and Starfield, Then a nice bit of Enternights later in the month washed down with a good old bit of EA FC 24 and Robocop the finish the month off.

September is a treat Month for sure!

Forget everything else, the UI haptics is a nice addtion that could actually be very helpful for some people.

Damn another game on my wishlist for Sept. It's going to be a brutal month for my wallet.

@TurboTom I can safely say from what I am seeing at work there is only 1 version, a slightly slimmer digital version with the plug in behind the bottom casing for a disc drive to be slotted in (sold separately). It is a drive to push the new digital at a lower cost but give disc drive fans the option to add a disc drive (for addtional cost). It is what they should have done from 2020 but it's done now.

This is why they are clearing the 1200 series disc drive stock. I would expect the see the 1200 digital PS5 go on sale after the disc version comes off sale in mid Aug. I think it runs until the 10th for disc drive.

@TurboTom Yeah I would say getting a PS5 with a disc drive at this price is a great option. Soon there won't be a disc drive option. I think the Spiderman 2 sets are the last 1200 models going out. I think with this 2000 slightly smaller model they probably did look at making a much slimmer version but it wasn't feasible yet given the power supply and cooling system size requirements. The clearest indicator before I found out was the Spiderman 2 limited edition in the 1200 model. Even before I even found out from work Tom Henderson said it wouldn't be a slim version which I agree is a shame.

@Blofse Sadly it was 10am in the UK too everything is sold out apart from the console. Unless there is a 2nd phase?

@TheArt At work, it is just an updated model internally but on the outside it's almost the same console. If you take the bottom cover off the new digital version (2000) there is a plug in port when the disc drive can be plugged in then you fit the disc drive casing with comes which the disc drive.

It's live at £399.99 across all UK retailers now. For anyone curious there is no PS5 slim, just a slightly smaller digital version with a plug in on the disc drive side under the removable case.

On this new model the disc drive is sold separately. But it basically looks like a slightly smaller PS5 digital.

All sold out in the UK, apart from the console, must be very limited like usual.

Fyi for anyone buying a PS5 in the UK, the price drop has gone live at Smyth's/Game/Argos to clear down the disc ver. of the console. Price now £399.99. Make the most as soon they will sell the digital console for £389 and make you buy the disc drive as an add on! (Hence why no price drop on the digital)

Now this I am excited for, Why is Sept and Oct so stacked! my wallet will hate me.

I got a feeling it will be something like TOTK or maybe Spiderman 2 might win GOTY. I think Starfield also has a chance if it performs well. I haven't played any of those games yet but I am familar with them while I can honestly say I haven't heard of this game until very recently! I'm sure it will review very well but it could be that Persona 5 10/10 game that doesn't track to mass market of Keighley's orbit.

I think if it is accessible to new players like me (not needing to play 1&2) then I will check it out for sure as I enjoy rpgs/jrpgs.

Just found out at work today that a new PS5 is coming later this year (Not a slim version). Price will be cheaper too.

I honestly have never heard of baldurs gate before, curious to see what all the fuss is about. Some people online have said it could be game of the year?

Not suprised it is digtal only as a smaller prelude game to the next Like a Dragon game in early 2024. I can imagine the full Like a dragon launch will have a hard copy just like the last game. Thankfully I only buy digital so it won't affect me. The digital future is coming fast.

Got a feeling the dualsense controller will be hard to get hold of and scalped. The Hogwarts Legacy dualsense lasted about 30 mins on the UK store and I got it 10 mins after the launch time. I think this controller will go much quicker.

They have done the same with the watch dogs franchise, if it sells less than 5-10 million copies at full retail price they kill it.

Guess there is a few ways to look at it:

As the tech evolves, what the studio can do with faces and facial animations improve so there may be some change. There are other factors such as lighting to consider.

Insomniac do have taste for making out and out facial/hair changes and even miles had had this. At very least MJ has a new hair do and maybe she might have had a little work at the Isomniac plastic surgeon.

Personally I think the "new" MJ looks less "cute" but more attractive to me although this isn't really important to the enjoyment of the game.

Insomniac are not great with consistency or timelines in SM which we have come to accept. SM2 is apprently only 9 months after 1 which doesn't track on the getting older/looking older argument

It is okay for some players to be frustrated that faces appear to change. I preffered the older face model rather than the Wish Tom Holland but I got used to it.

I might get the controller, if the stock supply is decent enough. Online rumours are saying the slim could be annouced in Aug for a Sept - Nov launch date but honestly I cannot see any new models until 2024. Why would sony launch a Spiderman console in Sept only to launch a brand new and more desirable console max less than 2 months later (not to mention they would need to annouce it before the Spiderman console comes out and it would just upset those with a pre order.

The smart console player has a PS5, Xbox Series and a Switch. If you are even smarter and can afford it, get a PC (Although a good one will cost you more than all 3 consoles combined).

No worrying about what is exclusive or what will be taken away. You don't even need to buy an Xbox to enjoy Xbox games these days.

Hopefully Xbox and Nintendo push Playstation hard to ensure never ever slips back into that PS3 complacency. I have seen a little of that under JIm Ryan and I hope it doesn't continue because I want new single player IP and not just an over realiance on exsisting IP.

I am happy with my digital PS5 but I may pick up the slim version if it does come out later this year. I would like something with a smaller footprint and the option to add on the disc drive should I want to play what will be ever cheapening PS5 disc games.
