If Microsoft put as much work into managing the studios they already have that they are for this acquisition, maybe they wouldn't need Activision.

I'd give it an 8. I'm not blown away by it, it's still rough around the edges in all the same ways it's predecessor was, and it feels like Respawn spent more time packing in more content than polishing the core gameplay. That said it's still leagues better than Fallen Order, and it has me excited for where the next game could go.

It's probably just that Sony doesn't want to pay $1000 a month for a stupid checkmark. (I certainly wouldn't) But if someone told me that Elon Musk saw the ending of Burning Shores and unverified them out of spite, I wouldn't call them a liar.

For the most part it ran fine for me. My real issue is that all the lights and reflections turn the game into a shimmering nightmare any time you move the camera.

The game still looks fantastic, but none of this was necessary. I get Square wants to show off the game and the fact that it actually got done on schedule for once, but restraint is the name of the game at this point.

I have to say, I wasn't really feeling this game at first. I thought Fallen Order was just okay and the trailers for this just made it look like more of the same. But the extended gameplay previews flipped me all the way around. This game looks awesome and I'm definitely picking it up day one.

Maybe, but games like God of War and Horizon are experiences I want to have on a big T.V. screen. I mainly want a new handheld from Sony for smaller games I can enjoy on a smaller screen. Key word being smaller. I don't want a handheld system the size of a t.v. tray that'll break my toe if I drop it

Definitely Burning Shores. I might pick up Jedi Survivor at launch, but it just looks a bit underwhelming at the moment.

It looks good, but what I always admired about the Ys series is how it always improves incrementally with each release. This just looks like Ys 8 again. And it's what I was expecting when I heard the devs talk about how this was designed for the Switch

I'm feeling great about FF16. And it feels good to say that because I've had very mixed feelings about the series' shifts in direction from 11 onwards. Still, I'm glad to see those creative risks. Final Fantasy doesn't have to be a set in stone brand, and I'm glad Square Enix knows that.

Not yet, but I do plan on getting it. The Toukiden games are probably my favorite Monster Hunter-esque games overall (I might even like them more) so I know Omega Force has the chops to make this a great game.
Perhaps ironically, this game made me want to go back and play more Toukiden, which is why I haven't picked up Wild Hearts yet.

Looks great. Dehya looks amazing, and It's nice to see that will be added to the standard banner. I'm still going to pull for now though.

I've had my eye on this one since it was announced. Been waiting to see more and it still looks great.

I've never cared that much about live service games so I can't meaningfully on this. All I'll say is that Sony's bread and butter will probably always be in high quality single player games, and those continues be the most evergreen part of the games industry. As long as they keep that strength, i can't really blame them if they want to experiment in other areas.

Still playing Forspoken. I finished the main. Story and now I'm just working on the platinum.

As the world's number 1 Forspoken fan, its a bummer to see the game underperform so hard. But I can't say I'm surprised either. I just hope Luminous adds a new game + before Square Enix sweep this under the rug.

Genuinely an 8/10 for me. A superhero power trip set in a fantasy world is what I wanted, and it's ultimately what I got.

The banter, controls etc are all criticisms I agree with, but when this game is firing on all cylinders it hits the exact part of my brain that makes all the good chemicals.

I may be the only person on earth this game was meant to appeal to, but as that one person, I'm glad to have it.

Monster Hunter is an existential nightmare disguised as a video game.

Forspoken would be pretty high on the list, but it's out next week so I left it off.

I already own the bulk of the big hitters here which is unfortunate, but I'm looking forward to finally play Jett: The Far Shore.

I just felt like play Symphony of the night this week. I booted up my Vita to play it and got reminded just how much the Vita slaps.

The axe is my favorite in game, but the Draupnir Spear is the one I'd most like to have in real life.

Can't say I disagree with the list. Congrats to God of War Ragnarok for taking top honors, and Congrats to Elden Ring for making video games the least fun thing to talk about in 2022.

Finished the story. Was having a pretty good time in journey 2 and then got burned out. I couldn't get over how empty I felt when I finished it, even after getting the best ending.

Elden Ring is a great game, but it's not what I needed in 2022.

It's weird to think that one of the most well made, critically acclaimed and commercially successful games of the year can also be one of the most underrated. It's really hard to overstate how hard Guerrilla knocked it out of the park with this one, and it deserved so much better than getting overshadowed by Dark Souls with a horse.
