Gotta say, I shudder a little whenever I read "Nextflix exclusive" referring to a videogame.

Korean works for me. When it comes to any kind of entertainment media, I always go for the original audio whenever that's available.

I'll always be there for more Ace Attorney, but I'd be lying if I said the long period of news drought hasn't put a damper on my excitement.

Out of these I've completed Resident Evil 7, Tekken 7, I Am Setsuna and Thomas Was Alone.

I'll probably just try Tacoma and Lost Words since they're very short, maybe Hue as well. I'm kind of curious about Ace Combat but not quite in the mood for that gameplay right now, and I didn't like Setsuna enough to commit 50-ish hours to the devs' other two projects.

So more realistically I'm itching to try out Baby Steps, because I actually love Bennett Foddy's Getting Over It and this is his latest work.

Needless to say it's an abysmal game, but being able to see actual footage for the whole game instead of the awful ol' stills is a pretty big change nonetheless.

Years ago I dug up the PC version online and played it due to the funny AVGN video, but I wouldn't pay for this just to continue the joke. Still, the above change at least means it's not just a basic re-release, so I'm sure someone out there will be curious enough to pay.

Anyway, I'm fine with Rising Tide being the last thing we get on FFXVI as I think it's a pretty complete story and world as is. On the other hand, it's a bit sad that this quick disbandment is probably related to 'disappointing' sales performance rather than what the team envisioned would happen from the start. Yoshida feels a lot less enthusiastic about his game in this interview.

Thirty seconds is ridiculous, an overwhelmed dev can barely even collect their thoughts within that time, even if they prepared a speech beforehand. Let alone enjoy the moment.

Imposing rigid time limits for this kind of thing is a bad idea to begin with, but if you're gonna do it, make it at least a minute and half. You're supposed to be celebrating these people and their games, so at least act like it.

Top 4 right now would be Like a Dragon 8, Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin and Metaphor, in that order. Not sure about the fifth.

Their position as dead last in the console market is more clearly defined than ever. At this point, "we want GamePass on the other systems" has a different connotation to it.

Months ago, it could have been seen as "we want to dominate every space in the market", but now it sounds more like "we're giving up and planning to slowly turn into Netflix with extra steps". As the popular narrative changes so do the statements that attempt to reshape it.

Excited for it, FFXVI was one of my favorite things this year.

@bpomber By healthy competition you mean trillion dollar company Microsoft continuing their studio buying spree because they don't see any other way to succeed, therefore turning more and more games into console exclusives which is always a detriment to players as a whole?

Yeah, no thanks. The sooner they throw in the towel the better. At least then I'll know that the third party games I love aren't going to get locked to Xbox.

No surprise there, any game that sells poorly is a prime candidate to end up in a subscription service since it's such an obvious way for developers to recoup costs.

That said, it must have done particularly bad if the CEO is already openly discussing the move.

They're alright. I want to play several things in there - mostly Dragon's Dogma and that Daedalus visual novel.

Giving Lords of the Fallen (2014) another go. Still every bit as janky as the first time I tried it, but I'm more motivated to deal with jank at the moment.

It feels like a punishment when I decide to explore and do side content in an open world game (kind of the point of having an open world) only to then realize I'm massively overpowered for the main story content that follows. Dynamic difficulty/scaling might alleviate this.

I hope they'll give up sooner rather than later and just abandon the market altogether. Normally I'd be against that because a Sony "monopoly" (in tandem with Nintendo) would not be a good thing either, but compared to the awful de facto monopoly Microsoft is aiming for, it'd still be a lesser evil.

@HonestHick As long as I can still get the games I like on my system of choice, they can throw all the money they want at SEGA.

If Microsoft bought SEGA, it'd be the first acquisition of theirs that would actually bother me, as they've got quite a few IPs that I don't want to lose access to.

Fewer games than usual, but still several I'm interested in. Dragon's Dogma in particular is one I've almost bought on several occasions.

P.S. Superliminal is a pretty good puzzler, but I already completed that.

Title and sub-title are funny considering that, just today, I read a rumor about at least two more projects involving the P5 cast (one as part of a series crossover, and another focused on them).

No worries on my end Yokoyama, I'll stick with it no matter how long it takes. If anything, the thought of another Yakuza 0/5-sized game makes me excited.

Like Gremio said, if there's a physical version when I decide it's time to play BG3, then I'll probably go for it.
