Re: There's Already Concern Over Crash Team Rumble's Future

JeongersGaming

After how quickly they shut down the Crash mobile game, I'm surprised they think they can try something like this again.

If Crash 4 was a PS3 era game, Rumble would have just been the built in multiplayer mode. In the current era, it comes to us 3 years late for half the price of a full game (with the expectation of paying more later). It's even built almost entirely off of Crash 4 assets, what took them so long to release this anyway with how long they were teasing it?

And no, don't do another Crash Bash either.
Your nostalgia be damned, it's only slightly better than Boom Bang.

Toys For Bob has spent years on this, and presumably not on Spyro 4, unless Beenox is on that joint this time.

@NinjaNicky
"They're not releasing new characters, they've just removed them from the game and giving them out in the future so you feel like you're getting something extra when you're not."

This doesn't exactly hold up to scrutiny when you consider how long the DLC tail can get.

Street Fighter 5's last character came nearly 6 years after launch, and it's roster went from 16 to 46.

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's PS5 File Size Is Ridiculous

@ItsBritneyB_tch Stuff like that makes me prefer standalone expansions/mini sequels to DLC when they release so long after the base game. Burning Shores would have been a great side game like Miles Morales, and you wouldn't need to redownload the whole base game you've probably already platted just for some DLC.

Re: Konami Employee Charged with Attempted Murder After Attacking Boss with Fire Extinguisher

JeongersGaming

This is not a story I was expecting to see. That's crazy. Allegedly the attacker hasn't had this person as their boss since filing the complaints back in 2020. Who knows what happened to cause this decision 3 years after the fact? 3 years of seeing this apparent abuser still working for the company?

Then there's the part of the Gamer article mentioning a bomb threat by some kid because he lost connection in a game. Wild.

Re: Resident Evil 4's Ada Wong Responds to Social Media Abuse

JeongersGaming

@ArashiKageTaro Yeah I think the script was a little weak in some areas like that with Leon and others feeling off from their game counterparts, but I liked what the director was going for. An old school Carpenter-esque take on Resident Evil.

They could have done with less CG and more practical effects too, if you're gonna make an old school horror film. Like that Cerberus looked like they just took the RE2 remake render when they could've just put some makeup on a dog or something.

Re: Resident Evil 4's Ada Wong Responds to Social Media Abuse

JeongersGaming

@ArashiKageTaro At this point I'd be surprised if that movie still gets a sequel at all. I hope so because I didn't actually hate it, but it underperformed and there's been no real word on a sequel other than some actors saying they would like to come back. Apparently the first had a decent home video launch, but it's been almost two years and the director has other projects going now.

Regardless, I'm confident they wouldn't drop her if a new one does happen.

Re: Resident Evil 4's Ada Wong Responds to Social Media Abuse

JeongersGaming

She has some very good taste in films.

From an implicit standpoint, I can totally see the perspective that the "boring, monotone" complaints stem for her not sounding flirtatious as in prior depictions of Ada, and how that has connotations to the "Dragon Lady" stereotype; I just don't how many people making those complaints even have that dynamic in their mind. Is it fair to say those people are guilty of racial fetishism?

Of course none of us have access to her DMs so it's entirely possible - and quite likely - that she's been sent personal messages that are quite racially charged, I don't doubt that. It seems silly to me, that there are some people out there that would throw hate towards an asian actress for portraying an asian character. Again, I'm not denying it's happened to her, it's just fascinating to think there's people actually like that. Spectacular levels of stupidity on their part. The sexism part goes without saying, we absolutely know how some people are with that.

@Keyblade-Dan An interesting point. I've not heard of any hate about Street Fighter 6 and Chun Li's voice. But the game isn't out yet so who knows if that'll change. I know there's been a beta, but I'm sure not everyone who will buy it has played those. I don't play much SF these days but it's also not as story heavy unless 6 changes this, so would a subpar voice performance matter as much?

Re: Rumour: Persona 3 Remake Gameplay 'Leak' Is Going Viral

JeongersGaming

-Yukari's model is different from the Dancing games but actually of a higher quality
-Yukari's Persona hasn't had a high quality model before
-Animation looks pretty clean
-Music is new, what little we see of the UI too
-Followed by beta Sonic Frontiers footage showcasing the original merged version of Kronos, Rhea and Ouranos Islands, a cut enemy and different boss animations
-Footage ends with a glimpse of the rumoured Jet Set Radio game, high quality model work and matches a previously leaked screenshot from last year

The footage allegedly is from an internal Sega Japan meeting from 2021, so it being from the outsourced Chinese mobile game is possible but quite unlikely. This is either from a Persona 3 remake or perhaps something else - crossovers aren't exactly foreign to Persona.

@Leonhart That Sonic gameplay includes cut content.

@crimsontadpoles I'd argue the P3P port doesn't hurt the odds much at all, because the format of that game is different from the others with it's cut down VN presentation, and a remake would widen that gap. If they went through the extra effort to remaster FES it would be a different story. P3P port is a bit of a cheap effort overall compared to doing that.
