Re: Sonic Frontiers Debuts First Open World Gameplay in New Video

JeongersGaming

It looks alright aside from some technical issues. I just hope there's more to do besides run around and do little puzzles. Is there any kind of civilization? Are there more environments? What do these rumoured cyberspace levels look like? What's the story? Any other playable characters? I guess they've decided to space out their announcements across the month, but I would have preferred a little bit more information.

Re: Multiple PS1 Game Trophy Lists Have Been Revealed

JeongersGaming

@Shigurui we know that Oddworld doesn't have trophies. The thing about that mandate is Sony can choose to revoke it when they please, which seems to be the case with emulation. I think that's the best move since we know the trophy mandate negatively impacted the PS2 on PS4 program.

Re: Here's Another Quick Glimpse at Sonic Origins Gameplay

JeongersGaming

They've almost certainly not gotten the Michael Jackson music back. Upside is that the replacement music from the PC version actually turned out to be the original tracks after all, so I wouldn't mind hearing them in remastered form actually (just like the Sonic 1 and 2 music was touched up for their mobile versions), but it will be weird at first not hearing Hard Times in Ice Cap Zone, or Stranger in Moscow during the credits.

EDIT: Noticed the menu music is a remix from Sonic Jam on Saturn. Neat callback!

Re: No Mention of Trophies for PS Plus Premium's PS1, PSP Games

JeongersGaming

@eltomo Yeah it must be a huge hassle, and I'm pretty sure it's the reason why the PS2 games on PS4 never got close to the library on PS3.

Frankly, it's not a big issue imo. Trophies can be nice, but there's nothing wrong with playing a game for the sake of enjoying it, without increasing an honestly meaningless number on your account.

Re: Sony Shares First Look at PS Plus Extra, Premium Games

JeongersGaming

Looks like nobody in the PS Blog comments even bothered to read the actual article and chose to complain about how small the list is.

Apparently some here too.

It's not the full thing, they already confirmed about 350 classic games at launch. There's a whole lot less than those here!

Re: The House of the Dead Remake Takes Aim at PS Move Patch

"We’re curious whether the game will also support gyro controls"

I'm confident in saying it will. The Switch version has a lot of customisation for the gyro, and the basic stick controls are not that great so I think they know they need gyro as an option for something enjoyable to play

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives Not Coming to PS Plus at Launch

JeongersGaming

I don't mind 1st party not coming day 1 because I mostly don't buy them day 1 anyway, outside of a few exceptions like Rift Apart and Death Stranding. If Returnal and Miles Morales are any indication I won't have to wait too long though for them to be added though, about 1-1.5 years or 2 at a stretch.

Re: PS Vita the Only Console Snubbed in Sony's New PS Plus Premium Subscription

JeongersGaming

To be fair, the amount of Vita games that aren't also on PS3/4 isn't tremendously high, and a good number of the ones that aren't would be pretty tricky to emulate because of the use of both touch panels, or the camera. Uncharted Golden Abysa would be a nightmare, but Killzone Mercenary would be sick to play on a PS5.

@Snake_V5 it would be more difficult to implement, it being more powerful than a PSP means more grunt required to emulate, plus the feature set differences. Granted I'm sure a PS5 wouldn't have trouble emulating the Vita (PS4 would probably be trickier), but then the problems go to the things I mention above. Not many Vita games that aren't already playable on PS4/5 and awkwardness with the small remaining library.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's Latest State of Play?

JeongersGaming

It was fine for what it was. Honestly the salt generated from these - and Nintendo Directs - is funny to me. I go into all of these with zero expectations and I always come out relatively satisfied at least. I left the hype machine behind a while back.

@Atreus97 would make a lot of sense given the timing, the large Japanese focus, and the confirmation of another State of Play coming soon.

Re: There's a Dino Crisis in Capcom's Exoprimal on PS5, PS4

JeongersGaming

This was a rollercoaster of a reveal. First thought was Pragmata, then the dinos came in - must be Dino Crisis! Then I saw the exo suits and thought otherwise causeit looks too out there for that, then I remember Dino Crisis 3, and then there was the red head making me feel more convincedthat this might actually be Dino Crisis, and then finally we get the title reveal.
